1.Cause

1). In 1756, English and France began to fight the Seven

Years’ War. Britain’s victory led directly to a conflict with its American colonies.

2). The passage of the Stamp Act and Quartering Act.

3). In 1773, Boston Tea Party led to American Revolution.

4). In September 1774, the First Continental Congress was a

meeting of colonial leaders who opposed British oppression in the colonies.

5). On April 19, 1775, the first shot was fired in a small town

of Concord near Boston.

Thus, the American war of Independence began.

2.Process:

1). Igniter fuse: Boston Tea Party ( 1773)

2). Unity of colonies: First continental congress (1774 in

Philadelphia )

3). First Armed clash ( 1775, Lexington Concord )

4). Founding of the army: second continental congress ( 1775,

in Philadelphia )

5). Founding of the nation: Declaration of Independence

(1776. 7. 4)

6). Turning point: the victory of Saratoga ( 1777 )

7). British Sum ender in the town of York ( 1781 )

8). The treaty of Pairs ( 1783 )

Result: In 1776, drafted Declaration of Independence and the war of Independence came to an end in 1781 with the victory of North Americans. A new American nation was thus born.

4. Significance: It marked a new beginning of American history and encouraged the people in the colonies ruled by Spanish and promoted the national Liberation struggle of the other colonies.
