1. I have a dream school in my mind. We can choose our favorite lessons to learn. We can spend more time doing some outside reading. The students do after-school activities for one and a half hours every day. We needn?t do a lot of homework. Besides that, my dream school looks like a big garden. There are many kinds of flowers around the modern buildings. If I want to have a rest, I can lie on the grass, listen to music by the lake or look at the flowers from the classroom windows. The teachers here are not only our teachers but also our good friends. The students are polite and friendly. We all know how to keep our school clean and tidy. There is no litter around the campus. I love my dream school. We will grow up to be happier there.

2. Bill and Jane were coasting on a hill. Down the hill went the sled. Bill steered. Jane held on tightly. The coasters on the hill watched them. Past trees they whizzed. Jane yelled, “Stop the sled! Stop the sled!” but Bill could not stop it. Su ddenly Jane had a feeling that she was a bird in flight. Was she dreaming? She landed in a big pile of snow. Where was Bill? 4. When I was in grade four in primary school, my father taught me how to use computer. After that, I was very interested in playing on computer. I watched movies, played computer games, searched the Internet and listened to the music on computer. Because my father must work in his computer, so he bought another for me. I was very happy that I had my own computer. It was put in the study. I am always very careful to use my computer, because I am worried I would break it. I often chat with my net friends. Because of my computer, I make many friends who have many hobbies in common. Of course, I use my computer in study. There are resources on the Internet. I can learn more after class. It does great help to me.

5. In 1929, three years after his flight over the North Pole, the American explorer, R.E. Byrd, successfully flew over the South Pole for the first time. Though, at first, Byrd and his team were able to take a great many photographs of the mountains that lay below, they soon ran into serious trouble. At one point, it seemed certain that their plane would crash. It could only get over the mountains if it rose to 10,000 feet. Byrd at once ordered his partners to throw out two heavy food sacks. The plane was then able to rise and it cleared the mountains by 4000 feet.

6. What is the low carbon life? We can do a lot in our daily life to achieve the goal of living low carbon life. First, we?d better turn off lights if possible and spend less time watching TV or surfing the Internet. Saving water also matters much. Besides, we

should sort out the rubbish, hoping that we might recycle some, which will surely benefit us a great deal. In addition, we suggest using handkerchiefs instead of tissues so that we can prevent more trees from being cut down. More importantly, when we go out, walking, riding bikes or taking buses should be our first choice, which contributes to a cleaner world.

7. As we all know, water is essential in our daily life. We drink water every day; we use water to wash things and cook food and we also use water to make machines. People can't live without water. Though about 75% of the earth is covered with water, only 3% of it can be used. So we must save water by having a shower instead of a bath. We can save water by fixing dripping taps immediately and we can also save water by not washing under a running tap. Just do everything that we can do to save water.

8. That was a morning in the early of June. I took a bus to my school. The sky was gray with the gloomy clouds congregating gradually along the far eastern horizon. "There must be a heavy rain soon." I spoke to myself. When I hurried into the classroom, the sky, gray before, was replaced now by black clouds. Several minutes later, I saw the lightening split the clouds and heard the thunders following. Suddenly, the curtain of rain fell and the wind blew. With the rain forming like a fog, the sky became bright. I took several deep breathes. I felt comfortable. The heavy rain lasted three hours and stopped when the class was over. The air was so fresh and the sky was so clear. I felt like a new man myself.

9. Everything begins to grow in spring. The trees turn green, and the flowers come out. On the playground, in the fields, on each side of the road, the young grass

10. Elephant is the largest animal on land today. It weights some ninety kilograms and is about one meter high when born. Usually moving in groups and caring for each other. For many years people have used the strength of these powerful animals to move trees and heavy logs. 11. We wouldn't believe that it was a village. The buildings for the farmers were very beautiful, the streets were very clean and there were many flowers in front of the houses. In the middle of the village there was a school with a wonderful building and a large playground. All the children in the village study there. The farmers got richer by planting vegetables and raising silkworms. In their houses there were color TV sets, fridges, washing machines, new furniture and even motorbikes. All these showed the farmers' life was getting better and better. The great changes had attracted foreigners.

Today some of them would come to visit it. We were happy for the farmers. We hope the farmers will be richer and happier.

12. The Yangtze River is the longest river in China. And it?s important and helpful to Chinese. But these few days the Yangtze River is bringing us serious floods. Many villages were destroyed by floods. The floods made millions of people lose their homes, relatives and friends. Many children can?t go to school as usual. Now the foods have drawn the attention of the whole world. People from abroad have offered their help too. In China, millions of soldiers are busy fighting against the floods. They are working very hard. Many of them have lost their lives in their attempt to save the villagers. I believe most of the people will return to their homeland in the near future.

13. Nowadays, many Chinese can enjoy the luxury of owning a private car. Having a car of your own means no more traveling to work on crowded buses or subway trains, and you can drop off the children at school on the way. Moreover, it also means that you can enjoy the weekends and holidays better, because with a car you can go to places where the regular buses and trains can not go. However, there are drawbacks to own a car. For one thing, with the increase in car ownership in recent years, the roads are becoming more and more crowded, often making the journey to be a nightmare. For another, it is not cheap to run a car, the prices of gasoline and repairs are constantly rising, and you have to pay for a license and insurance coverage.

14. Internet is coming into our life. It brings us not only a lot of convenience, but also troubles. Some students use Internet as a tool to study. They look up the meanings of the words, a translated form of a sentence, the information of a company or a famous

person etc. They also read news or send e-mails through it. Internet helps them learn more and study well. It?s very dangerous for them! The Internet advantages and disadvantages are shown clearly to us. I think we should make good use of it and stay away from the unhealthy websites.

15. Suzhou is a beautiful place in Southeast of China. It was built over 2500 years ago. So Suzhou is an old city with a long history. It?s famous for its gardens and Hanshan Temple. We are all proud of them. Many foreign tourists come to see them. In Suzhou, There are lots of old constructions like Tiger Hill, Bessie Pagoda and so on. After visiting them, you?ll be tired. But don?t be worried. There are also lots of snack shops in Suzhou. They are different from those in Western countries. Suzhou is a modern city as well as an old city. There are lots of tall buildings and many other modern constructions in Suzhou, too. You can find hundreds of people in smart clothes in the street. What a beautiful city it is!

16. Everybody has a dream, because we?re dreamers. Sometimes the dream is perfect, sometimes it?s special, sometimes it?s sweet. In my dream, there are some children. I always play games with them and enjoy ourselves. In my dream, there is a special sky. In our world, the sky is blue, but the sky of my dream is pink and some angels are having fun there. In my dream, white bird can fly high, flowers can sing songs, frogs have a jump race, tomatoes are blue, potatoes are yellow and all the things are different. people smile forever. It is a peaceful world. In my dream, everything is wonderful, but our world is not. So we should make our world get more beautiful!

17. In current society, people have known the importance of keeping healthy and good life habit. In the past, people ate three meals at home, and they ate more vegetables and less meat and fish. They were very strong and seldom went to see doctors. Now life is better, people eat more meat, fish, eggs and other food with more fat. They often go out for good meals with their families and friends. But they get easy to be ill, Why? I think more meat and fish, less exercise are bad for health. Good rest, less meat and fish, more vegetables and enough exercise are good for health. We should eat fruit and drink milk every day. So the better we get into good eating habits, the happier our life becomes.

18. I like Christmas, it is just like our Spring Festival. Because we can spend time with our families, friends and classmates during Christmas. When it is snowy, Christmas becomes much more lovely. I can imagine I am in a fairy tale, the girl who sold the matches is my friend, the ugly duck becoming more and more beautiful and so on. What a beautiful place! The biggest New Year party is held on CCTV. Hundreds of people gather there, meanwhile millions of others all over the country were sitting in front of the screen to watch excellent performances. The bell strikes twelve at midnight to welcome the coming of the New Year or Spring. People start to set off firecrackers and say "Happy New Year" to each other.

20. With the development of the modern technology，private car is no longer a luxurious thing for ordinary people. More and more people drive to work instead of going by bus. The popularization of private car has many advantages. First，it is very convenient and time-saving and you can drive your own car to the workplace instead of waiting for the crowded bus and afraid of being late for working. Second，it can also improve the traffic structure，and help mitigate the stress of the traffic. Third，the popularization of private car can help to promote the car industry and any other interrelated industries. I believe that in the future the private car will become the most important vehicle and we can't live without it.

25. One afternoon in September, 1993 in Datong, Shanxi Province, a two-year-old boy happened to fall into a deep ditch, which is only 40 centimeters wide but 45 meters deep. The ditch is so narrow that the adults are not able to go down. At that time, an 11-year-old Young boy named Zhang Tianxi, who is a miner's son decided to save the little boy. Zhang is thin enough to go down to the bottom of the ditch. He was brave enough and made an effort to carry the little child to the surface of the ground. 26. Last year, I visited Beijing. I always looked forward to visiting there. So I was so excited that I couldn?t fall asleep on the night before I started. 31. The lucky-number has become popular in daily life of modern society. For example, the number eight means big money which people like most, while the number four means unlucky. Some people believe lucky numbers so deeply that they will afford a telephone with numbers without four and others which is bad in their mind. They argue that the lucky-number really can bring good luck, and, at least, no evidence testify that they can not. As far as I am concerned, there is no relationship between the numbers and luck, for the reason that numbers themselves are given certain meaning for the purpose of application of mathematical. And, in addition, man should not depend on luck which, in their mind, the numbers give them.

32. Nowadays more and more programs are shown every day. My favorite program is "Discovery" which is broadcasted by CCTV at 5' o?clock every other afternoon, except weekends. The program provides us with knowledge in natural and scientific aspects. I like to know about the secrets of animals and some scientific research. I acquire some knowledge about nature and science of the past, present and

even the future. It is an interesting as well as instructive program. Besides, the pictures are very vivid and beautiful. It' s really a great joy to watch it. If you don't believe what I said, just watch it by yourself, and then you will know I am right.

33. The proverb "Haste makes waste" means that one may delay the time to complete one thing if he rushes to do it, because he may neglect something important in the process and has to do it again from the beginning. So we should do every step well. Take remembering English words for example, every student wants to enlarge his vocabulary. But this aim cannot be achieved in one or two days. You should stick to remember some words a day and review the words every few days. In this way you can keep the words in your mind firmly. There is no shortcut. If you want to put all the words into your brain and not to review them, you will remember nothing. So don't be hasty. Haste makes waste.

34. Panda is one of the scarcest animals. People in the world like it very much. There used to be many pandas in China long ago. As the balance of nature was destroyed and the weather was getting warmer and warmer, pandas became less. But at present, the number of pandas is increasing year by year. There are now so many pandas that some are being sent to other countries so that people there can enjoy them. Nowadays, the biggest nature park for panda in China is in Sichuan. There is a research center for nature and wild life there. Scientists hope that one day they will have enough pandas to be set free and let them live in the wild again.

35. Friendship is one of the greatest pleasures that people can enjoy. It is very difficult to find a better definition of friendship. A true friend does indeed find pleasure

36. Our environment is very important for our lives . We need the fresh air, the clean water and so on. In the past, there were many trees around us, the air was fresh and the river was clean. But now, people cut down many trees. Air pollution and water pollution are very serious. The environment around us becomes very terrible. We should protect our environment. First, we should plant many trees to keep water. Second, we can ride a bike or walk to the school and work. Third, we shouldn?t throw the dirty water into the river. 39. Time flies like an arrow before we realize it .It is known that nothing is more precious than time. The good old proverb "time is money" reminds us that time is valuable. When time goes by, it will never return. However, it is a pity that some people don't make full use of their time .They spend a lot of time in sleeping, chatting, playing computer games or other unmeaning matters. . They don't realize that wasting time is actually equal to killing themselves. They always regret not having made great achievements. One of the reasons may be they do not make good use of time. Therefore,

in order to be successful, they should first get into the habit of being on time. It?s a sign of cherishing time. Don't put off what can be done today until tomorrow. Being lazy will eventually lead to failure. Don't wait, because you don't know how long it will take when you put off your plan.

40. Newspapers and websites are two major new media in the world today, both of which can provide us with lots of news and informati on. But they?re different in some ways. Newspapers enjoy a longer history and often come out daily with more reliable news and information. They can be carried and read almost anywhere you like. So many people like reading them. But they can only contain texts and photos. On the other hand, websites are quite new and popular, especially among young people. Websites have not only texts with pictures but also audios and videos, which makes stories more interesting. What?s more, they are updated from time to time. So the latest news is always seen on websites instead of in newspapers. But it is not quite convenient for people without a computer connected with the Internet to get information from websites.

41. I dream that one day, I could escape from the deep sea of thick schoolbooks and live my own life with my favorite fictions: I lie freely on the green grass, smelling the spring, listening to the wind singing, breathing the fresh and cool air and dissolve my soul in nature at last. Simple and short enjoyment can bring me great satisfaction. I dream that one day the adults could throw their prejudice of comic and cartoon away. They could keep a lovely heart that can share sorrow and happiness with us while watching cartoon or doing personal things. That?s the real communication of heart to heart. I have the belief that my dreams should come true. I am looking forward to some

day coming when I am like a proud eagle, which flies to the blue and vast sky.

42. Pandas are gentle and shy. They are also friendly to people. And they look funny, too. Their eyes are the most interesting part. The black circles around their eyes make them look like they are wearing glasses or have just been in a fight. Their favorite food is bamboo leaves. They don?t like to move around very much. In fact, they prefer to sleep all day if they can. But now pandas are endangered. For one thing, people have destroyed many of their habitats. For another, they don?t have enough food to eat. We must think of ways to protect them. I think we should build more panda zoos and plant more bamboo for them. I hope everyone can do something for animals, so that we can keep our world rich and colorful and full of interesting animals.

43. Belief, a creation of human's wisdom, always plays an important role in human's society. As a saying goes：“ If one's mind is full, it won't be filled in with any bad idea.” Anyone who has strong beliefs can enjoy a colorful life. Otherwise, he will lose himself in his way of life. Beliefs are so important that it can change one's fate. Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse wouldn't quit. 46. National Day is coming. I like traveling very much. I want to travel all over the world. Because I think traveling is quite interesting. At the same time, we can watch beautiful scenery. It also can open our eyes. If I have the chance, I want to go to Beijing first，because it's our capital. There are many famous places of interest to go, such as the Great Wall，Tian…anmen Square, Beihai Park and so on. I'll take many photos,

because they will help me remember the trip forever. We know the Olympic Games has been held in Beijing. All people in Beijing have being trying their best to make Beijing more beautiful. I hope I can watch the best beautiful Beijing. I will go there by train. I think traveling by train is far more comfortable and cheaper.

47. There are four key points to study English: listening, speaking, reading and writing. First, we should be brave to talk with others in English. By doing this, we can improve our talking and listening skills. Secondly, we should try to listen to all kinds of English materials as much as possible. In this way, we can gradually improve our pronunciation. Thirdly, we should often read English books. When we come across a new word, we should guess its meaning through the contest first, and then look it up in the dictionary to have a check. I think it is a good way of reading.
