一般过去时的讲解及练习

1. 一般过去时的规则动词与不规则动词

一般过去时的定义:一般过去时表示过去某一时候或某一段时间所发生了的事情或存在的状态。常与过去时间yesterday, this morning, just now, a moment ago, last night / year / week, once upon a time, in the past以及before引导的从句和when引导的从句连用。

如:

What did you do yesterday? 昨天你干了什么?

I met Lin Tao this morning. 今天上午我见到了林涛。

I was there a moment ago. 刚才我在那儿

一般过去时对谓语动词的要求

一般过去时用动词的过去式构成。即一般过去时的谓语动词要用动词的过去式。动词过去式的构成分规则变化和不规则变化两种形式,不规则变化通常需要逐个记忆,规则变化则遵循以下原则:

(1) 一般在动词后加-ed。如:watch-watched,help-helped,work-worked

(2) 在以字母e结尾的动词,只加-d。如:like—liked,

hate —hated, live —lived,arrive —arrived

(3) 在以“辅音字母+y”结尾的动词,改y为i,再加—ed。如:

cry—cried, worry—worried, study—studied.

(4) 重读闭音节结尾且末尾只有一个辅音字母的动词,双写最后一个辅音字母,再加-ed。如:shop—shopped, stop—stopped,

★★★不规则动词的过去式的变化各异,需要特殊记忆,每个不规则动词的变换形式,都必须牢记。不规则动词的过去式变化没有统一的规则,但并非一点规律也没有,下面是一部分动词过去式的记忆规律。

动词的过去式与动词原形一样。let-let, put-put, read-read, cut-cut等。

1. 遇见i改为a。swim-swam, sing-sang, begin-began, sit-sat, give-gave,

drink-drank

2. 过去式以ought和aught结尾的单词。bring-brought, buy-bought,

think-thought, catch-caught, teach-taught

3. 中间去e末尾加t。feel-felt, keep-kept, sleep-slept, sweep-swept,

meet-met

4. 把i变为o。ride-rode, drive-drove, write-wrote,

5. ow/aw变为ew。know-knew, grow-grew, throw-threw, draw-drew

6. 以d结尾的词,把d变成t。build-built, lend-lent, send-sent, spend-spent

7. be动词的过去式
