DJs are the people who play and present music on the radio, or in a nightclub. A VJ is a person who introduces music videos on television.
VJs were first seen on television in the early 1980s when MTV went on the air. As MTV caught on, more and more audience（观众）went for music videos, many other kinds of music video channels（频道）started sending out programs. Besides rock music, there were channels later for other kinds of music, such as country music, light rock, and R&B, and all of these channels needed VJs. By the 1990s, international music video channels like Channel V in Asia and VIV A in Europe had started.

There were smiling children all the way. Clearly they knew at what time the train passed their homes and they made it their business to stand along the railway, wave（挥手）to complete strangers and cheer them up as they rushed towards Penang. Easter is still a great day for worship（敬拜）, candy in baskets and running around the yard finding eggs, but every year it gets quite a bit worse for rabbits.
And no, not because the kids like to pull their ears. The point is because of weather change, and some researchers found that rising temperatures are having harmful effects on at least five kinds of rabbits in the US.
Take the Lower Keys Marsh rabbit as an example. It lives on the islands, but it is seriously affected（影响）now by rising sea levels. According to the Center for Biological Diversity, an ocean level rise of 0.9-meter would destroy their living place completely.
The snowshoe hare, on the other hand, has a color problem. Most of these rabbits change their fur color from white in the wintertime to brown in the summer, which gives them better cover from predators (捕食者) . As the number of days with snow becoming less, more and more rabbits are being left in white fur during the days of both fall and spring, making them an easier mark for predators.
American pikas or rock rabbits might be the first of these species to go die out because of the weather change. Pikas live high in the cool, damp mountains. As global temperatures rise, they would naturally move to higher ground – but they already live on the mountaintops. They can’t go any higher. The National Wildlif e Federation reports that they might not be able to stand the new temperatures as their living place heats up.
The volcano rabbit has the same problem. Recent studies have shown that their lower living place has already moved upward about 700 meters, but there are not right plants for them to move higher, so they have to stay in the middle.
Native to the US, pygmy rabbits weigh less than 1 pound and live in the American West. They are believed to be the smallest rabbits in the world. Their living places have been destroyed by development. They also live on winter cover, but lesser snowfall is leaving them unprotected.
All of these give new meaning to dressing up in a huge rabbit costume（服装）this Easter.

There are plenty of books with helpful advice this week. First, The A-Z of photography would make a great present for anyone just starting out with a camera. It has everything you need to know to take really good photos, and learn about cameras, film, lighting and so on.
Turning to the kitchen, Cooking for one, by Adrian White, says on its cover that even
people who hate cooking will find it useful.
The last book this week is Holidays in Europe, by Mary Curtis. The writer doesn’t talk about the famous places everyone visits, but describes lots of small places away from the main tourist areas.

Now I’d like to tell you something that we’ve arranged for your weekend.
As usual, Friday night is down at Sam’s Disco. Tonight’s going to be a bit special because it’s Sam’s birthday. So from8:30 this evening, Sam’s Disco will be the place to enjoy a big crazy party.
Now, for those of you who are interested in football, we’ve arranged a football match against the students of Henry’s Co llege. We usually hold the match on the beach but this time it’ll be in West Park. If you’re a footballer, go there at 2:00 tomorrow afternoon. Afterwards, we thought we’d all get together –both colleges. We’ve decided to have a beach dinner. We’ll meet b ack at the college and set off together at about five o’clock.
On Sunday we’ll have a picnic in Thornton Forest. Everybody should meet at the college at 12:15 pm. We’ll walk to the station and take the quarter to one train to Thornton. The teachers will bring all the food. The forest is very beautiful with a small lake. So do bring your cameras.
