International Students
International students are an important part of MassArt's diverse population, enhancing the college's cultural and artistic community. International students are eligible only for full-time degree-program admission. International applicants must meet the following requirements in addition to the general first-time freshmen requirements and transfer requirements (if applicable).
Any applicant who is not a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States is considered an international applicant.
International students requiring a student visa should allow ample time to fulfill legal requirements associated with obtaining a visa. For this reason, we ask that you do the following:
- Complete the application process on or before the February 1 for the fall semester and October 1 for the spring semester.
- Submit deposit, Verification of Finances and Declaration of Finances by the May 1 for the fall semester and November 15 for the spring semester.
Transcripts
International applicants are required to submit academic records that have been converted to the U.S. educational equivalents.
International applicants who have academic documents from institutions outside of the U.S. are required to submit official (original, attested or certified true) copies of academic records for secondary school education and any college-level study. Please note that this should begin with the first-year of secondary school or high school.
Massachusetts College of Art and Design requires official evaluations of secondary and post-secondary transcripts or records from other countries. These evaluations can take up to 6 weeks to complete, so please begin this process early. Some recommended centers are:

Credentials in languages other than English must be accompanied by a certified literal English translation. Translations must be complete, literal, word-for-word translations in the mirror the original document.
All secondary/high school and post-secondary/college transcripts should be converted into the U.S. educational equivalencies. Records that are not converted into the U.S. equivalencies must have a course-by-course evaluation by an external evaluation agency and should include:
- Name of the educational institution
- Country where it is located
- Length of study and its U.S. equivalent
- Courses studied by year
- A conversion of grades and/or examinations to the U.S. grade equivalents of A, B, C , D and F on a 4-point scale.
- Total credits earned and conversion of course hours to U.S.
semester hours
- U.S. degree equivalent
Applicants with previous university-level studies should submit official course descriptions or syllabi for all course work completed.
Test of English as a Foreign Language
MassArt does not offer an intensive English language program. Students are expected to be proficient in English before applying for admission. In addition to all other admission requirements, international students whose native language is not English are required to demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English. To demonstrate English proficiency an official copy of one of the following English proficiency exam scores is required:
The following minimum TOEFL scores are required for undergraduate admission: computer-based test score: 213; internet-based composite test score (iBT): 85 with minimum section scores of 21 reading,

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test can be taken instead of the TOEFL. A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 is required for undergraduate admissions. IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. International students whose primary language is English will be required to submit the SAT or ACT.
NOTE: The TOEFL or IELTS scores may substitute for the SAT/ACT tests.
Declaration of Finances (DOF)
International applicants must submit a Declaration of Finance (DOF) form indicating that they have enough financial resources to pay for tuition, fees and living for two full years of the Undergraduate program, approximately $83,000. The DOF form will be mailed to all admitted applicants in their acceptance packet. Upon receipt, this form must be completed, signed by the applicant and/or sponsor and returned to:

Verification of Finances (VOF)
All funds must be backed up by a Verification of Finances (VOF). A VOF can be an official letter from the student's or sponsor's bank, or a bank statement. These documents must reflect the cost of tuition for a minimum of two full years (estimated $ 83,000). Please note that all monies must be readily accessible in liquid accounts such as checking or savings accounts. All documents must be in English and in U.S. dollars, or the current exchanges rate must be supplied by the bank.

组织管理的四个方面
组织的存在是为了实现目标，组织管理的存在是为了提升效率。对于组织的正确理解包括4个方面： 第一、组织是一个实体 当我们说组织是一个实体的时候，就意味着：在组织中我们需要用目标、责任、权力来连接。组织有正式组织与非正式组织之分。正式组织就是指运用权力、责任和目标来连接人群的集合；非正式组织是指用情感、兴趣和爱好来连接人群的集合。 我们在管理概念下主要是谈正式组织，因为当说到组织管理的时候，应该就是谈论责任、目标和权力，所以组织理论从简单的意义上讲，就是探讨责任与权力是否匹配的理论，组织结构设计从本质意义上讲就是一个分权、分责的设计。 所以当我们理解组织是一个实体的时候，也就意味着对于组织而言，不能够谈论情感、爱好和兴趣，不能够希望组织是一个“家”，联想大裁员所带来的震动，如果从组织理解的角度来看是不应该的，但是竟然掀起了波澜，其缘由是员工认为“联想应该是个家”，但是，我们只能够抱歉的告诉大家组织不是家，它更注重的是责任、权力和目标，当目标无法实现的时候，组织也就没有存在的意义，而组织中的人也就失去了存在的意义。 组织是一个实体还意味着：同一个权力、责任和目标必须是同一组人承担。在组织中看到结构臃肿、效率低下、人浮于事，责任不清，互相推诿的情况出现的时候，你必须先看看是否存在同一件事情有两组人在做，同一个责任有两组人在承担，同一个权力有两组人在使用，这恰恰是出现上述情况的根本所在。 这些情况我们可以用一个词来代表，这个词就叫“组织虚设”。虚设的组织在企业中大量存在，比如：一个企业有市场部门但是又设有营销部；有各个职能部门又专门设一个管理部。结果大家都有责任，都不需要负责任。组织中最可怕的就是这个“组织虚设”。 第二、组织里的人与人之间是公平而不是平等 在管理中一直有个问题是大家所疑惑的，那就是管理讲求民主还是讲求集中，大家的答案各不相同，只是疑惑还是存在。问题就出在人们将一个人在社会结构中的权力与一个人在组织结构中的权力混为一谈。 在社会结构中，人与人之间是一个生存为前提的存在，人们受到法律和道德的双重约定，在法律和道德面前，人与人应该是公平而且平等的。
