Hammerhead sharks are native to the Coco Islands near Costa Rica. They are named for the strange but fascinating shape of their heads. Their heads are flat and horizontally extended (水平延伸) into a “hammer” shape. Hammerheads can grow up to 20 feet long and weigh up to 1,000

pounds.

The hammerhead?s un ique head shape is different from those of other species of sharks, whose are usually long and narrow. Originally, researchers thought that the shape of their heads made them move and turn easily, but it was later discovered that their ability to make sharp turns without losing stability comes more from the placement of their vertebrae, the small hollow (中空的) bones down the center of their back. The positioning of their eyes gives them very great ability to see and 360 degree sight in the vertical level, meaning they can see what is below and above them continuously.

Even though they have great ability to see, they are rather clumsy when compared to other sharks. They have the least ability to float among all species of sharks and have very small mouths. Because of the small extent of their mouths, hammerheads often feed from the ocean floor and in large groups. Very few species of sharks feed like this. Hammerhead sharks eat a variety of foods including squid (乌贼), fish, and other sharks.

Besides having their special heads, hammerhead sharks are one of the few species of animals known to have skin that tans. If a person or an animal?s skin tans, it goes darker as a result of lengthy sun exposure. It is believed that sharks? increased melanin (黑色素) production leads to a shark?s lack of hair which in most animals would be enough to protect them from the sun.

Not much is known about hammerhead sharks before the Tertiary Period (from 65 million to 1.8 million years ago). As their bones are not mineralized, they very rarely fossilize (成为化石). Researchers believe they may have developed from carcharhinid sharks which evolved in the mid-Tertiary Period. This link was made because of the similarities in the teeth of the two types of sharks.

It is said that once most people leave school they make the decision that their learning days

are over. Most of them will seldom ever read another non-fiction book, therefore missing out on one of the greatest resources for boosting (推进) their career goals. Or you could get up a half hour earlier each day to read undisturbed and, as Brian Tracy says, “milk the golden hour”.

But by far the most powerful way of finding the time to learn is making your car your “college on wheels”. We all know that we spend thousands of hours a year driving to and from work. Most people will listen to the radio. But what if you took this time to listen to books on tape? Or what if you listened to tapes on your subjects of interest by experts in the field? When I was eighteen, I read a copy of Bill Bryson?s A Walk in the Woods. It was summer. My friend Andy and I had driven across the country and ended up in the town of Sheridan, where we stayed for a week with a friendly middle-aged couple. Scanning the couple?s bookshelf, I was quietly shocked to discover that it was a literary desert. Bryson?s book was the only one I?d brought, so, while Andy rode dirt bikes outside, I lay on a sofa in the basement, consuming it in controlled bursts, as if bolting (吞吃) food.

I had dreamed of hiking the Appalachian Trail since I was ten years old. From Bryson?s well-researched account, I began to learn how it would feel to walk through two thousand miles of mountainous wilderness. “At times,” he writes, “you become al most certain that you passed this hillside three days ago, crossed this stream yesterday, and climbed over this fallen tree at least twice today already. But most of the time you don?t think. Walking for hours and miles becomes as breathing.”

Around page one hundred, I reached the passage where Bryson and his hiking partner studied a map in an outdoors store and they were overcome by the sight of how little of it they had already walked and then decided to skip the state of North Carolina and drive to Virginia. I let out a howl of anger and threw the book against the wall. But needing to know the end of the book, I picked it back up again. I repeated the cycle (howl, throw, get back) when Bryson decided to quit a quarter of the way through the Hundred-Mile W ilderness, at which point he concluded, “I don?t care what anybody says. We hiked the Appalachian Trail.”

There, in that basement, I made up my mind that day to hike the trail the right way: from end to end, in one continuous trip, which is often called a “thru-hike”.

I eventually did so in 2009. It was roughly how Bryson described it: long, hard, and boring, but also beautiful. While hiking the trail, I learned that whenever a thru-hiker met a day-hiker, who is referred to by thru-hikers somewhat dismissively (轻蔑地) as “just out for the day”, the day-hiker would always ask the same question: “Have you read A Walk in the Woods?”

Many thru-hikers are angry at this question. For them, the continuity is the point, in the same way that running a marathon is more meaningful than running four separate 6.5-mile races.

Bryson thus finds himself in the curious position of being both the outward face of the Appalachian Trail and its most inwardly mocked (嘲笑) figure. The same is true of other day-hikers, including best-seller authors. The question arises: why are some most famous accounts of hiking the world?s most famous long-distance trails written by people who did not

hike the whole distance?

I would argue that the loneliness and nature of a long-distance hike fits quite nicely with the thinking of most readers. The dusty trails of Amazon are full of the footsteps of successful thru-hikes, most of whom are the authors of trail journals. These books have a limited audience, whereas the books that become best-sellers speak to people who would never go on a long-distance hike.

It has been twelve years since I last read A Walk in the Woods. Recently, while working on my own book about trails, I picked up my old copy again. This time I read it as a writer, rather than a hiker. It felt fresh. It somehow manages to provide an overview of both the long history and the vast expanse of the trail. In the end, as at the beginning, I found A Walk in the Woods a delightful little book. Still, I don?t care what anybody, including the author, says: “Bill Bryson did not thru hike the Appalachian Trail.”

An interview is a talk between an employer and a potiential employee so that the interviewer can assess the applicant and see if he or she is suitable for the position. First impressions are important. Make sure you get a good night?s rest, so that you will be refreshed and not yawn during the interview. And gentlemen, make sure you?ve used your razor or electric shaver to give yourself a good shave that morning. You should make suere that your hair looks neat—you should even get a haircut, if necessary. It?s also very important to wear clothes that make you feel confident; your clothes should be smart, but conservative. Wearing a pair of shorts and a T-shirts is certainly not suitable for an interview.

When you set off for your appointment, make allowance for the traffic and make suere you are on time, or even a little bit early. Arriving latye is one of the worst things you can do. The interviewer will not care about how bad the traffic was at the roundabout or how you had trouble finding parking; ther?s never a ggod excuse for being late.

During the interview, remember to be enthusiastic. Listen to the questions the interviewer asks and answer them well. And don?t forget that an interview is a chance for you to learn more about the job. Asking questions will show that you?re interested.

But don?t think that there?s nothing else you can do once the interview is over. You should follow it up by writing and thanking them for giving you the interview. This is not only a polite gesture, but also a final chance to sell yourself to the company. It can also give you the edge over other candidates, so remember to check your spelling, punctuation and grammar.

检测结果质量控制程序 1 目的 为保证检测结果的准确可靠，全面检查实验室的检测能力，验证检测结果的准确性和可靠性，为管理者和 客户提供足够的信任度，特编制本程序。 2 范围 适用于中心内部的各项质量控制活动及参加外部的质量控制活动。 3 职责 3.1 技术负责人负责质量控制活动计划的审批,并组织质量控制计划的实施，对计划结果进行评审。 3.2 各检测室技术负责人负责质量控制计划的制定。 3.3 监督员负责检测过程的监督。 3.4 检测人员负责按要求实施质量控制计划。 4 工作程序 4.1 中心的质量控制计划包括内部质量控制和外部质量控制，根据有证标准物质的来源情况、检 测的特性和范围以及人员的多少来制定内部质量控制计划。 4.1.1 内部质量控制计划所采用的技术可包括，但不限于： （1）在日常分析检测过程中使用有证标准物质或次级标准物质进行结果核查； （2）由同一操作人员对保留样品进行重复检测； （3）由两个以上人员对保留样品进行重复检测； （4）使用不同分析方法（技术）或同一型号的不同仪器对同一样品进行检测等。 4.1.2 外部质量控制包括参加实验室间比对或能力验证。 4.2 编制的“质量控制计划”可包括两部分：一是内部质量控制计划，二是外部质量控制计划。 4.2.1 内部质量控制计划的内容可包括： （1）计划控制项目及控制方法； （2）控制频率/时间； （3）控制结果的记录方式； （4）计划评价的时间（时机）； （5）控制结果的评价准则；

（6）控制实施责任人； （7）评审/评价栏。 4.2.2 外部质量控制计划（参加能力验证和实验室间比对） （1）比对实验项目，目的、发起单位、参加单位； （2）样品准备与分发、样品保管、运送要求； （3）比对的实验方法、依据； （4）进行比对的时间、频率； （5）比对结果的分析方法，可根据具体需要选择分析方法； （6）检测质量制定准则。 4.2.3 质量控制计划的制定 在技术负责人组织下，技术部根据监测的具体情况，专业范围、技术特点选择适宜的控制方法，制定年度的内部质量控制计划。外部控制计划由技术部组织相关技术人员进行编制. 4.2.4 质量控制计划的审批 质量控制计划由中心技术负责人审批后，由各检测室具体实施。 4.3 质量控制计划的实施 4.3.1 技术负责人组织人员实施内部质量控制计划，对相关项目结果质量进行控制，做好控制 记录，并对控制结果的数据分阶段进行分析评价，如果发现异常或出现某种不良趋势，应及时查找影响原因，根据原因分析，采取相应的预防措施或纠正措施。 4.3.2 技术部根据外部质量控制计划的要求，组织相关人员参加能力验证计划；负责联系、协 调各部门参加实验室间比对计划，并负责比对结果的分析评价，填写“比对、验证活动记录”。 4.3.3 对执行质量控制计划过程中出现的不符合或经分析认为可能存在的隐患，执行《不符合 检测工作控制程序》、《纠正措施控制程序》及《预防措施控制程序》，采取相应的预防措施或纠正措施。 4.3.4 在控制过程中，可采用适当的统计技术，对一些项目进行连续或多次的控制，对其结果 进行分析，从中及时发现可能出现的变异性，检查其质量可否得到保证。 4.3.5 在实验室间比对活动中，若检测结果分析存在离散现象严重时，由技术负责人组织相关 人员，对该项目进行综合评价，找出影响结果的原因，按照《纠正措施控制程序》采取纠正措施。 4.4 质量控制计划实施的有效性评价 4.4.1 内审组组织相关人员就质量控制活动实施的有效性进行评审。经评价发现计划有不相适 应的部分，查明原因，并重新对控制计划进行调整，经中心技术负责人批准后实施。
