I really love my job because I enjoy working with small children and like the challenges and awards from the job. I also think my work is important. There was a time when I thought I would never have that sort of career(职业).

I wasn’t an excellent student because I didn’t do much schoolwork. In my final term I started thinking what I might do and found I didn’t have much to offer. I just accepted that I wasn’t the t ype to have a career.

I then found myself a job. Looking after two little girls, it wasn’t too bad at first. But the problems began when I agreed to live in, so that I would be there if my boss had to go out for business in the evening. We agreed that if I had to work extra hours one week, she’d give me time off the next. But unfortunately, it didn’t often work out. I was getting extremely tired and fed up, because I had too many late nights and early mornings with the children.

One Sunday, I was in the park with the children, and met Megan who used to go to school with me. I told her about my situation. She suggested that I should do a course and get a qualification (资格证书)if I wanted to work with children. I didn’t think I would be accepted because I didn’t take many exams in school. She persuaded me to phone the local college and they were really helpful. My experience counted for a lot and I got on a part-time course. I had to leave my job with the family, and got work helping out at a kindergarten.

Now I’ve got a full-time job there. I shall always be thankful to Megan. I wish I had known earlier that you could have a career, even if you aren’t top of the class at school.

Thanksgiving Day is a special holiday in the United States and Canada. Families and friends gather to eat and give thanks for their blessing.

Thanksgiving Day is really a harvest festival. This is why it is celebrated in late fall, after the crops are in. But one of the first thanksgivings in America had nothing to do with a good harvest. 淇县北城新区概念规划设计 发表时间：2012-12-18T16:32:17.433Z 来源：《建筑学研究前沿》2012年8月Under供稿作者：王亚军[导读] 城市会议展览区规划导则：采用多馆合一的形式，将会议中心、展览馆、博物馆多种功能集合在一起。 王亚军中建国际（深圳）设计有限公司 510008 摘要：项目位于河南省鹤壁市鹤淇产业集聚区内，是连接产业园与生活区的重要城市节点，肩负着缓解旧城压力、职能延伸、振兴经济等重要职责。项目用地面积为29.6万平方米，地块西南侧为新的政府综合楼及行政接待中心，并紧邻城市主干道——鹤淇大道，交通便利, 区位优势明显。为项目营造一个兼顾社交、工作、购物休闲多元化次都市中心提供了良好的基础与前景。 关键词：项目；规划设计；理念；构思 一：项目开发理念： 1：加快建设，完善淇县新区的功能与结构，配合大鹤壁建设和发展的整体推进要求 2：综合平衡，合理控制土地开发强度，满足可持续发展要求，创造优美的城市及投资环境。 3：建造一个独具特色、高品质的城市综合配套区，打造城市新的活力中心，使之成为展示鹤壁形象的新窗口。 4：努力营造一个和谐的城市复合区域概念，打造并强化“城市会客厅”的概念，切实保证居民参与。 二：规划设计原则： 城市会议展览区规划导则：采用多馆合一的形式，将会议中心、展览馆、博物馆多种功能集合在一起。 生态办公区规划导则：科学组织规划，合理配置建筑高度，充分保证城市形象，提出以中小型企业为主的总部基地的形态概念。 商贸规划导则：以多种商业形态集合在一起，配置相应的文化娱乐设施。 居家及配套住宅区规划导则：沿鹤淇大道适当配置产业聚居区的临时性居住的公寓，区域内部则为高品质住宅区。 可持续发展持续导则：可持续发展原则已经成为全球城市建设的共同准则，这是建设节约型社会，生态型城市的必然选择。 本项目还充分考虑淇县人文历史文脉，在设计中考虑居民的活动习惯，建筑布局及名称应充分体现淇县文化特色；并坚持节能低碳可持续发展的设计原则和采用新技术新产品设计，建设节约生态型城市。 三．规划构思 现代产业集聚区大多数以产业园区的结构形式呈现，而区内配套的服务将是集聚区经济蓬勃发展最有力的保障。本案将以“高级商务写字楼，高端企业总部基地，新型体验式商业街”的形式服务于整个鹤淇产业集聚区，并打造一个融汇办公、社交、购物、休闲和娱乐等多元化活动的现代都市中心。根据此设想，此城市设计采用了紧缩城市理论，“紧缩”概念的提出源自对可持续发展的强调，功能的紧缩以便于人们之间的社会性互动。 四：规划结构： 规划设计基本沿用原有道路骨架，各个功能区独立成组，自成体系，但各个功能区通过城市公共节点及人行轴线又紧密的联系在一起。每个功能区既有对外开放的城市广场，又有层次丰富的商业或服务内广场，两种形态的广场结合高耸挺拔6+1建筑单体，在城市界面上形成大气磅礴的视觉感受。同时形态丰富的城市广场为市民提供休闲娱乐交往的空间，为和谐城市发展及城市道路界面的丰富提供了可能。整个用地共分为五区 A地块为政府办公区，B地块为城市会议展览区，C地块为生态办公区，D地块商贸服务区，E地块为居家及配套住宅区。几个服务区有着明确的功能定位，通过规划设计紧密联系在一起，共同为产业聚集和淇县新区服务。
