Section A Chinese to English

The collapse of belief we have been witnessing throughout the twentieth century comes with globalism. The postmodern condition is not an artistic movement or a cultural fad or an intellectual theory—although it produces all of those and is in some ways defined by them. It is what inevitably happens as people everywhere begin to see that there are many beliefs, many kinds of belief, many ways of believing. Postmodernism is globalism; it is the half-discovered shape of the one unity that transcends all our differences.

In a global—and globalizing-era, all of the old structures of political reality, all the old ways of saying who we are and what we are for and what we are against, seem to be melting away into air.

How to have an identity in such a world? Nationalism becomes semiobsolete before it even completes its conquest; national governments everywhere are challenged from front and rear, past and future. They are forced to do battle against threats to their fragile sovereignties that are posed by international organizations and movements and economic forces. The weaker national sovereignty as an absolute principle, the less secure we are in defining ourselves according to national citizenship.

苏大MTI 苏州大学翻译硕士考研 本人本科双非英语专业，考研报考专业是英语笔译。一战无缘南京大学，二战苏州大学成功上岸。借此经验帖对自己这两年来的考研历程做个总结，希望能够帮到学弟学妹。 一、学校选择 读研一直是我的梦想。大三第二学期开始选学校和专业。我一直很喜欢英语，上了大学又爱上了翻译，所以刚开始准备报考翻译学专业。开学第一节口译课上，老师给我们介绍了MTI专业，更加实用，我也不是那种整天能搞研究写论文的人，还是专硕更合适。哈哈，也是非常感谢我们老师了，我们宿舍六个人有四个都考了MTI。至于学校的选择上，第一次选了南京大学，是因为大二寒假我去南京打了一个月的工，很喜欢这个城市。当时自己志向远大选了南大，南大全国排名前八，笔译专业除去保研人数只剩十几个名额。我做过真题，题量不大做着不难，但到后期总觉得越复习越难，现在想想，其实主要是心态不稳，心里一边想着自己要努力考上，考上了多好啊；另一边还在忐忑，收的人那么少，自己足够优秀排到前面吗？考不上怎么办？总归是害怕自己努力的方向不对，担心自己的付出得不到回报。2018年南大录取线350，录取的十几个人都在350-370之间，而我考了340，差的分不少，能力可能是真达不到，但焦躁的心态绝对是罪魁祸首。到了调剂的时候我也是努力争取所有的希望，当时刚好压着B区的线，广西贵州云南能试的学校我都试了，最后还是失败了。 一次不行就再来一次嘛。毕业后在学校附近租了房子，没有了学校里的杂事还能在学校复习，有氛围。至于择校，这次我就很注意了，先通过做黄皮书各校的真题筛选学校，考虑过中山大学和暨南大学，但最终选择了苏州大学，原因有二（1）、题型上。苏州大学的题不算难，客观题较多（下面会具体说），便于复习，易得分，分数线360多，老师能给到很高的分。二、心理上。苏大学校还不错，但MTI竞争跟其他学校相比不算很大，所以苏大是让我觉得有信心考上并且考上了值得上的学校。另外苏州地理位置较好，亲朋好友大多都在南方，如果能考上，那就很期待未来的一切了。 以上就是我择校的过程。择校不对，努力白费。你要知道自己对考研的目标，适合自己的很重要。对于还在纠结学校的学弟学妹，我有如下建议：第一步是列出最初想选的学校，看这些学校的考试题目适不适合自己，毕竟最终是要靠卷面成绩说话的，每个人擅长做的题型是不同的，那什么样的题算适合自己的呢？前期先去做或者看一些学校的真题，你要是觉得某个学校的题在复习上总体是可以接受的，并且有信心在努力复习后能答的更好，而且相对能考出较高的分，那就可以考虑一下了。第二步是综合去分析通过题型筛选过的学校，包括录报比、分数线、地理位置、复试比例等等，最后选择最合适的那个。不要单单让自己觉得很伟大而选了一个很高的学校，也不要觉得自己能力不够而选一个自己考上也觉得不甘心的学校。要知道，考研并不是越好的学校越难考，特别是MTI专业，没有足够的努力，什么都得不到。 二、备考经验 真题很重要。苏大重复出题的概率很大，开始复习之前我先把真题做了一遍，并对题型进行了整理和总结，然后再做出长期和近期的复习计划。到了十月份第二次做真题，然后跟第一次做的情况对比，总结自己的学习进展。12月份最后一次做真题，寻找考试的感觉，并再次与前两次对比，每次都能看到自己的进步和不足。 （1）政治：75分。我高中学得是理科，对政治并不感兴趣，基础算是一般，因此政治报了班。两年都上了启航的政治课，主讲是王吉老师，教材很系统，把知识点都以考点的形式列

考研经验对于备考考生来说含金量很高，优秀的经验能让你少走许多弯路，提前知晓考试重点、注意事项、如何备考。在忙碌备考之余，停下来阅读借鉴前辈的考研经验，从中学习并运用到自己的复习进程中，会让考研复习效率大大提高。 距最终成绩出来已经过去几个月了，当时看到自己名字在复试通过名单上时，内心十分激动，兴奋，终于可以到梦想中的城市读研究生。这一年甚至是两年来的心血终于有了回报。 大四那年考研考了南航，但没考上，二战换成了南京大学，专四专八都是良好。选择南京大学，一是因为想去南京读书，二是因为想去一个好的985。一战失利让我想了很多。我性格偏内向，书面比口语好，一战失败也是因为自己努力不够，总是偷懒。南航有风险因为每年招收的人很少，只有3,4个（每年情况不一但都不会很多），于是只有分数十分高的人才能进入复试。因此择校也要考虑个人的学习基础和基本情况。南京大学算是我综合了自己的性格特点，个人偏好，名校情结而选择的最终目标。其实一开始也会很犯嘀咕，觉得这么好的学校自己到底行不行，能不能考得上，但是后来一想，既然英语笔译每年都会招人，那为什么不是自己呢？为什么不试一试呢，只有试过之后才有资格评判。 今年备考期间报考了CATTI三级，实务59综合72，哎差一分就过了。想着自己准备了快大半年的翻译应该可以过CATTI，但是实际上没有，感觉老师们改卷还是很严的。考试不容易过。我从7月中旬开始准备，之前几个月都在工作，复习期间一直在家里，因为家里环境安静，父母白天上班晚上才回，因此白天的时间都可以由我自己支配。二战的人要想好自己的学习地点，可能因为我自制力较好，在家也能看进去书，而且看的很仔细。 思想政治理论 这一科目我感觉就是多做题多看书，跟着肖秀荣大大走。8月初开始看知识点精讲精练和《政治新时器》，搭配做1000题，马原增强理解，思修、史纲、毛中特理解加背诵结合。由于是第二次考研，如果时间够的话还是推荐大家从10月份就开始背。后来就是11月肖八，12月肖四，1000题最少得过个两遍三遍，知识点才能牢固。后面12的时候背诵压力会很大，建议背诵趁早。不用担心背了会忘得问题，背过之后多复习多回忆就不会忘。
