Step1. Revision

1.Revise “when was the …invented?” (selfchek 2)

Teach the new words:abacus[`?b?k?s, ?`b?k?s] binoculars [bai?n?kjul?z]

2.Ask one student to give a report about the history of the chips.

Step2.Presentation

1.T: You did a good job!It’s pleasant to lie in the sofa, eat potato chips and

watch TV at home on Sunday afternoon. It’s pleasant to enjoy beautiful flowers.

Not only do flowers look pleasant, but also they can produce a pleasant smell.
