As a student, I’ve found it very difficult to tell lies. I have been trying to find out the reasons for several years. It is from what I have learned that I know I should be an honest person in my life. However, I find myself in a dilemma, that is, whether I should tell a lie or not.
As we all know, there are many kinds of lies, such as social lies, protective lies and trust-keeping lies. Different lies have different affections, just as different parts of a machine have different functions. Among all these lies, white lies, the so-called peace-keeping lies, are worth mentioning, for their unexpected effects on people.
But what are the white lies? When we are telling a lie for the purpose of bringing happiness to a person, we can call it a white lie. But different people have different opinions of white lies. I think telling some lies can prevent people from being embarrassed or injured. For example, a man, who was late for the first date, uses a white lie of the traffic jam as the excuse for being late. This can save the man’s face.
So I hold the idea that it is necessary to tell white lies in some special situations. In terms of the white lies, they would not be bad as long as the original intention is good. For example, the teachers always tell me the senior school’s life is quite exciting and interesting when I was a middle school student. I know that my teachers just tell a white lie aiming to encourage me. The following facts show the great value of lies. Teachers tell white lies to encourage their students when they fail to finish their work.
Parents tell white lies to let their children smile happily instead of feeling sad when they know their parents’ bad health condition. Take my parents for example. They always worry about me. Now I’m far away from home. As long as I have something wrong .They’ll become very anxious. For sure, I do have some trouble sometimes, but what I usually tell them is I’m just fine, please don’t worry.
A doctor tells white lie in order to make a patient feel that his health is not so worse and then he may become optimistic.
From what is said above, a conclusion can be arrived at that we should not treat white lies as obstacles in life, and that sometimes telling a lie should not be associated with the issue of being honest. Some white lies can encourage you to do the best.

Wasn't there a time when things were simpler and people were more humble?Once bogged down in private interest, one finds oneself blinded by the greed and selfishness. Advocating the traditional moral values about family and community is definitely necessary. Actually it has adopted by the Chinese government as a key policy to run the coounty by combining the rule of law with the rule of virtue ,which is the essence of Confucianism.
