Editorial

It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing away of Prof.J.Hoschek who served as CAGD’s editor-in-chief for the last ?ve years.This is a serious loss for the journal and,moreover,for the whole research community.Prof.Hoschek will be remembered by all not only for his service to the journal but also for his many research contributions.

Because of his failing health,Prof.Hoschek resigned from his editorial position earlier this year.He was actively involved in the process of ?nding a successor,a search resulting in the appointment of Prof.Hartmut Prautzsch as new co-editor-in-chief of the journal.Prof.Prautzsch served on the editorial board for many years and has all the credentials and quali?cations that it takes to serve in this new position.As one of our ?rst tasks together,we will edit (with Prof.B.Juettler)a special issue in memory of J.Hoschek.An announcement may be found in this issue.
