Teaching Aims:
Knowledge Aims:
Ss will learn some new words, such as “yard sale, sweet, memories, toy, bear, maker, scarf, board, cent ”;
Ss will know some new phrases, such as “over there, bring back, give away, check out”;
Ss will learn new structures, such as “How long have you had that bike over there?”, “How long has his son owned the train and railway set?”.
Ability Aims:
Ss can use the new words and phrases freely;
Ss can use the new structures to talk about their possessions and things around them;
Ss can improve their speaking and listening ability.
Emotional Aims:
Ss will know how to deal with old things;
Ss will learn to make good use of old things they do not use any more;
Ss will learn to help poor people;

Step 1 Warming-up
1.T plays a video before the class for Ss.
2.Reivision:
1) T first sets and example for Ss and ask Ss: Have you ever been to/visited…?
2)Ss work in pairs and ask and answer.
Step 2 Presentation
1.T shows Ss some pictures of yard sale and get Ss understand the meaning of “yard sale”;
2.Ask& Answer:
T shows Ss some pictures and asks Ss: How long have you kept/had/owned…? T guides Ss to answer: I have had/kept/owned it since/for….
Step 3 Work on 1a.
T first sets and example for Ss and then guides Ss to work in pairs to have a role play:

Step 4 Work on 1b.
T guides Ss to listen to the record and finish exercise 1b.
4.Reading: Ss read after the record. While reading, Ss pay attention to the intonation. Step 5 1.Work on 2a&2b.

Step 5 Work on 2c.
Student A is Amy’s mom. Student B is Amy. Make conversation.
