Three years ago I failed an important exam in my life and became a student in an ordinary school. Disappointed as I felt at the shabby campus and the poorly-equipped classroom, I found the teachers patient and considerate. Besides, I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in class. Life is complicated. We can’t avoid anything annoying or stressful. Therefore, what is of great importance is that we should keep a good state of mind.

An experience never fades from my memory. With a vital exam drawing near, I felt so nervous that I even couldn’t eat or sleep, thus making me very sleepy in class. Seeing this, my teacher came to my assistance. With her aid, I realized my situation and gradually adjusted myself and felt confident again. In the meantime, I made up my mind to study hard. A detailed plan was made to go over my lessons. In the end, I managed to pass the exam.

It was a good state of mind that helped me get through the exam. A good state of mind is what it takes to realize our goal.Whenever your emotion is out of control, just keep in mind that only by possessing a good state of mind can you attain success.

（三）Failure plays an important role on the way to success.

All of us experience failure every now and then. And many people fear failure. Although nobody wishes to experience it, sometimes failure can benefit us a lot.

When I failed my English exam three years ago, I felt upset at first, but then I made up my mind to work even harder.That failure motivated me to put more time and energy into learning English.After finding out (that) my problem was a lack of vocabulary and being poor in grammar, I changed my learning methods. I learnt a lot from past mistakes. Finally I made great progress in English. Failure really helped me to get closer to success.

There are more difficulties than ease in the real life. It is likely that we will have to face some

failures ahead. Therefore, those who learn how to deal and endure failures will taste their success eventually.

（四）Changing makes beauty. We will meet with difficult problems in our life and study, but it doesn’t always mean we have to fight with them. If we change the way we behave, things may be different and we will be rewarded with a beautiful success.

Frustrations are not always barriers in our life but a stage where we need to change, which will bring us a beautiful success in return.

The precious lesson about it came from the period when I was adjusting to my new life in senior one. Having achieved success, I decided to keep it up the same way as I did in junior middle school.But soon I found it didn’t work out as well as I expected, maths scores particularly discouraging. As a result, I turned to my teacher for help, under whose guidance I got to know where the problem lied: I must abandon the old methods and switch to new ones. I felt it hard to give up what I had taken pride in but I made it at length, which rewarded me with a new and joyful learning experience.

Changing makes beauty. Make a right change and we will find what a delight it is to see the beautiful results after it.

（五）In our daily life, we may well meet with a situation where a helping hand is greatly needed, which makes much difference to those in need.

Everybody needs help because he may come across difficulties from time to time. For the people in trouble, a helping hand is always a ray of hope from the heaven. When it comes to this, it always reminds me of my experience.

I still remember it was six years ago when I began to learn English that I found I had great trouble pronouncing the words correctly. Hard as I tried, I failed again and again, thus making me frustrated and lose confidence in myself. I was about to give up when my classmate David came to my help. He taught me how to pronounce the words correctly and advised me to imitate the tape. If possible, he would force me to communicate with him in English to correct my mistakes. It was with his help that I got out of the trouble, for which I was grateful to him. Now we have become close friends.

Just as the saying goes, “Roses given, fragrance in hand.” Therefore, why not reach out your helping hands to others? However small our help may seem to be, it is often worth a lot to the help-seekers.

（六）If you can’t do what you like, then you should like what you do.

Years of school life have taught me a lot of things, of which what I value most is that we should develop an interest in what we are bound to do, even if it’s not where our interest lies.

There was a time when I disliked English. For one thing, I was annoyed that I simply kept

forgetting those English words that I tried to remember. Besides , I couldn’t figure out the English grammar. As a result, I tried to keep myself away from it, which led to the fact that I did poorly in English. Later I got to understand that English is becoming more and more important with the development of our society. What’s more , we must have a good command of it if we are to enter our dream university. Anyway, I began to develop an interest in it and have been making steady progress. From this experience I’ve learned that we shouldn’t give up when confronted with what you dislike . Instead, we should meet the challenges and think of ways to transform them into your interests.

（七）Many things are important in our life, such as friendship, love, family, health, life(生命), the environment we live in and so on. Sometimes, we never know what we have got until it is gone. We should learn to cherish.

In our life, we often take for granted what we are possessed of. Therefore, we attach little importance to them. Not until we lose them do we realize how important they are. Take myself for example, when I was eleven years old, I was looked after by my granddad. I was so naughty that I often made my granddad annoyed. However , he didn’t blame me and loved me as before. At the age of twelve, one day, my father told me, “Your granddad passed away.” Suddenly, tears rolled down my face. Never had I made my granddad proud of me . Had I been given another chance, I would have made myself the smartest boy in my granddad’s eyes.

There are many important things in our life, such as love from your family or friends, health, opportunities, the environment we live in and so on. Sometimes, we don’t kno w their value until we lose them. Learn to cherish them and you will never be regretful.
