Chapter 2 Teaching Our daily life Plan

The first period: the new words preparation for the text

Teaching aims: To teach the Ss some new words which are needed in the class. Teaching Difficulties: Get the Ss to master the words

Teaching focuses: Get the Ss to listen, read, write and use the words

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Task 1

Show the Ss. some pictures and think about your daily life. Which of these things do you

B do once or twice a week?

Step 2: Task 2

Find out the Ss’ daily life.

Class work: The teacher talks about himself/herself,

What do I do every day?

A1 I get up at 6:00 every morning.

A2 I go to work on foot every day

A3 I watch TV at 7:00 every evening.

A4 I do housework at 7:30 every evening

A5 I study at 8:00 every evening

B6 I often go to KFC on Sundays.

B7 I usually go shopping at weekends.

Teach: motorbike, subway , underground, brush, teeth .tooth

Group work: Imitate

Each group talks about their daily life according to the following questions. The group leader completes a form to show everyone’s daily life. Every student interviews three Ss. in Group of 4 Ss. to compare their habits.

Whose habit is better?

Then tell Ss. this is the simple present tense.

一般现在时:表示现在的状态、经常的或习惯性的动作、表示主语具备的性格和能力等。与一般现在时连用的时间状语:often, always, sometimes, usually, every day/ week/ year 等.

2 The second period: Grammar: The simple present tense

Teaching aims:

A. To enable the kids to know the simple present tense, especially to master the form of present third person singular.

B. To enable the kids to use the simple present tense correctly.

Teaching Difficulties:

To enable the kids to master the form of present third person singular.

Teaching focuses: The form of present third person singular.

Step 1: Leading-in

Show Liuxiang’s day. Then compare with the teacher’s. Let the Ss. find out the difference.

A1 I get up at 6:00 every morning.

A2 I go to work on foot every day.

A3 I watch TV at 7:00 every evening.

A4 I do housework at 7:30 every evening.

A5 I study at 8:00 every evening.

B6 I often go to KFC on Sundays.

B7 I usually go shopping at weekends.

Step 2: Brainstorming: What are the differences between the two group sentences? Teacher will ask the Ss to give the character of present third person singular.

Step 3 Presentation: 主语是第三人称单数时,行为动词的变化规则如下: 一般动词在词尾加-s,如: helps, makes, gets, swims, knows, plays 等. 以s, x, ch, sh, 或o 结尾的动词在词尾加-es,如dresses, washes, catches, does 等. 以辅音字母+y 结尾的动词, 先变y 为i,再加-es, 如fly---flies, study--- studies 等.

Step 4 Practice: Pair work: Ask the partners to make the same sentence with the first person and the third person. Eg. One student says I get up at 6;00 every morning. The partner says He /She gets up …

Step 5 Further Practices: Then give each Ss .some pictures to make sentences with different persons. Show time: Ask one student of each group to do a show. Then the other Ss. 3 make sentence according to performances.

Step 6: Show the form of questions

They play football in the playground

否定句: They do not (don’t) play football in the playground

一般疑问句:Do they play football in the playground?

肯定回答Yes, they do.

否定回答: No, they don’t.

She waters the flowers.

否定句: She does not (doesn’t) water the flowers.

一般疑问句: Does she water the flowers?

肯定回答: Yes, she does.

否定回答: No, she does not (doesn’t).
