Humor is the shortest distance between two people.

In order to acquire a sense of humor ,a good starting point would be learning from humorous people. You may try to adapt their attitudes of looking at things. You may imitate the way they talk and behave.Of course, that would be the first step. Then there would be a long list of things to do before you can acquire a real sense of humor for yourself.

7.Can humor be explained? Consider this quote: ‘Nothing kills a joke deader than an explanation.’Do you agree?

When humor is explained, it is no long humor. So, I absolutely agree with the saying. However, we sometimes see situations where a person tells a joke or something funny and expects the listeners to get its humor, but it falls flat and the others don’t see the point at all. Then the person has to make a decision on whether to explain or not to explain. But either way the humor would be dead. And the joke tellers may end up looking funny himself.

I’m afraid I don’t. As a matter of fact I no longer talk about Chinese films because each time I see a Chinese film I’m disappointed. The quality of most domestic film is low and many of the stories are rather childish there’s no enjoyment worth talking about at all. Speaking of foreig films I mostly watch American films. I’ve got to admit in today’s world no one can beat Hollywood in making great films.

My feeling is that most cinemas in China are doing poor business these days. Few movies are worth watching. Tickets are perhaps too expensive. And the cinemas themselves are not so inviting either. Every once in a while I watch a film in English, but it's not easy to understand what people say sometimes. They speak so fast. They use slang expressions. And like the way we talk every day, they don't always talk incomplete sentences. To make matters worse, there's often background noise that gives me more difficulty in following the conversations. But still,I'm making progress.I can feel it.I guess I'll watch more English language films to improve my listening skills.
