Automobiles have, since its invention, revolutionized transportation, changing forever the way people live, travel, and do business. However, today the application of computer technology and electronic sensors makes it possible to eliminate most of traffic accidents. For example, electronic sensors mounted in your car can detect alcohol vapor in the air and refuse to start up the engine. They can also monitor road conditions by receiving signals sent out from orbiting satellites and greatly reduce your chances of getting stuck in traffic (jams).

Dictation:

Automobiles changed the world during the 20th century, particularly in the US and other industrialized nations. The manufacture, sale, and servicing of automobiles have become key elements of industrial economies; indeed, the health of a country’s automobile industry in large measure determines the health of the entire economy. But along with greater mobility and job creation, the automobile has brought noise and air pollution, and automobile accidents rank as among the leading causes of death and injury throughout the world. But for better and worse, the 20th century can be called the Age of Automobile, and cars will undoubtedly continue to shape our culture and economy well into the 21st century.
