TOPIC: Describe a career you’re likely to pursue in the future and tell us how you are preparing for it.

A: Oh, I’ve been driven crazy!

A: I’m gonna to participate in the “Rainbow Cup” competition, but I know nothing about the matter.

C: You mean the competition which needs you to write your career planning? If so, I think the first thing you need to do is describing a career you’re likely to pursue in the future. So, can you tell us your plan?

A: Yeap, I want to be a lawyer after graduation in that I can mediate the dispute and spread justice among the public.

D: Sounds good. Then, I think you need to write how you are preparing for it. Many observers have pointed out that students are not very efficient career planners because their choices are narrow and many of them show a striking lack of interest in clerical.

B: I quite agree with you. The key to career planning is study yourself after which you can find what kind of lawyer is your best choice: for example, civil law or criminal law.

A: So, maybe I should broaden my horizons to know my future job and examine my strengths and weaknesses.

C: Clever girl! All career decisions require us to integrate these two

kinds of knowledge. After this ,you write something down to forces you to crystallize your thinking and to recognize unclear and half-formed ideas.

D: As far as I can see, you can draw up a table to review your plans and progress periodically. It’s important for us to cope with the changes.
