时间状语从句

概念

在复合句中,由时间连接词引导的状语从句叫做时间状语从句。(在复合句中,要注意主句和从句的时态大多都要保持一致。)

由as soon as,when,while,as,after,before,until,since,not until(直到……才)引导的状语从句叫做时间状语从句。

主要时态:主过从过;主将从现;主句为一般现在时,从句不受影响。

Eg:I'll tell him the news as soon as he comes.

when,while和as的区别

①when:“当……时”他引导的从句表示主句的动作和从句的动作同时发生或主句动作发生在从句之前(后面即可加瞬间动词也可加延续性动词)。

Eg:I was doing my homework when the telephone rang.

②while:“当……时,在……期间。表对比关系”后只能加延续性动词。

Eg:He fell asleep while he was watching TV.

△强调对比:I was doing my homework while my mother was cooking.

③as:“当……时”强调伴随。动作同时发生。

Eg:She went out as I entered the room.

“一边...一边...”

They talked as they walked.

④before,after

Eg:I went to school after I finished my homework.

=I finished my homework before I went to school.

我去学校之前完成了作业。

⑤until=till,not...until=not before

当主句的谓语动词是瞬间动词时,主句要用否定结构。当主句谓语动词是延续性动词时,主句通常不用否定结构。

Eg:She didn't go to bed until her mother come back.

感官动词

感官动词(及物动词)

see/notice/look at/watch/observe/listen to/hear/feel(Vt)/taste(Vt)/smell(Vt) 连缀动词(含感官不及物动词)

be/get/become/feel/look/sound/smell/taste/seem/ appear/grow/turn/prove/go/run

用法

一、look, sound, smell, taste, feel,这五个动词均可作连系动词,后面接形容词作表语,说明主语所处的状态。其意思分别为"看/听/闻/尝/摸起来……"。除look之外,其它几个动词的主语往往是物,而不是人。

Eg:These flowers smell very sweet.

二、这些动词后面也可接介词like短语,like后面常用名词。

Eg:Her idea sounds like fun.

三、这五个感官动词也可作实义动词,除look(当"看起来……"讲时)只能作不及物动词外,其余四个既可作及物动词也可作不及物动词,此时作为实义动词讲时其主语一般为人。(和1有区别)

Eg:She smelt the meat.

四、taste, smell作不及物动词时,可用于"taste / smell + of +名词"结构,意为"有……味道/气味"。

Eg:The air in the room smells of earth.

五、它们(sound除外)可以直接作名词,与have或take构成短语。

Eg:May I have a taste of the mooncakes?

六、其中look, sound, feel还能构成"look / sound / feel + as if +从句"结构,意为"看起来/听起来/感觉好像……"。

Eg:It look s as if our class is going to win.看来我们班好像要获胜了.

七、感官动词+do 与+doing的区别:

感官动词 see, watch, observe, notice, look at, hear, listen to, smell, taste, feel + do 表示动作的完整性,真实性;+doing 表示动作的连续性,进行性

I saw him work in the garden yesterday.

昨天我看见他在花园里干活了。(强调"我看见了"这个事实)

I saw him working in the garden yesterday.

昨天我见他正在花园里干活。(强调"我见他正干活"这个动作)

句子的结构

(简单句的五种基本结构)

简单句:只包含一个主语(或并列主语)和一个谓语(或并列谓语)的句子,称作简单句。简单句的基本句型:简单句有以下5种基本句型。

1.主语+ 不及物动词

例:He (主语)laughed(谓语动词).

My tooth aches.

2.主语 + 及物动词 + 宾语

例:They(主语) enjoy(谓语动词) the play(宾语).

I met John in the street yesterday.

3.主语 + 系动词 + 表语

例:He(主语) is(系动词) out(表语).

Jenny is fine.

It looks like rain, soon.

4 主语 + 及物动词 + 双宾语(就是间接宾语和直接宾语)

例:He (主语)bought (谓语动词) her(间接宾语) a watch (直接宾语).

The sun gives us light.

注意:双宾语一个指人(即间接宾语),另一个指物(即直接宾语)。一般间接宾语位于直接宾语的前面,有时它们也可交换位置,这是需要在间接宾语的前面加上介词to 或for 。

常见的双宾语结构:

bring sb. sth (bring sth to sb). give sb. sth (give sth to sb.)

hand sb. sth (hand sth to sb.) leave sb. sth (leave sth.to sb)

lend sb. sth (lend sth to sb) pass sb sth (pass sth to sb)

return sb. sth (return sth to sb) send sb sth (send sth to sb)

show sb sth (show sth. to sb.) tell sb sth (tell sth to sb )

write sb sth (write sth to sb ) buy sb sth (buy sth for sb )

do sb sth (do sth for sb ) get sb sth (get sth for sb )

make sb. sth (make sth for sb) pay sb. sth (pay sth for sb)

sing sb sth (sing sth for sb )

5.主语 + 及物动词 + 宾语 + 补足语

例:She(主语) found(谓语动词) him (宾语 )a very clever student(宾语补足语)。

I make it a rule to get up early in the morning.

注意:当宾语意思表达不完整时,需要用不足与补充说明宾语的状态、性质等。用作宾语补足语的通常有名词、形容词、动词不定式等。当谓语动词为see, hear , watch, feel 等感官动词或者let, have , make 等使役动词时,如果不定式作宾语补足语,必须省略to。例如:Let me (to) see. (to)要省去。

宾语从句

宾语从句用法

时态:

1.主句用一般现在时,从句可用任意时态。可归纳为“主现从不限”

2.主句用过去时,从句用过去某个时态。可归纳为“主过从四过”

3.主句用过去时,从句是客观真理时,只用一般现在时。

4.情态动词could/would用于,“请求”,表示委婉、客气的语气时,从句不受主句的约束。

一、宾语从句的连接词

从属连词

连接宾语从句的从属连词主要有that,if,whether.

that引导表示陈述句的宾语从句,

if和whether,whether...or not引导表示“是否”的一般疑问句的宾语从句.

连接代词

连接代词主要有who, whom ,whose ,what ,whoever ,whomever ,whosever, whatever, whichever等.

连接代词一般指疑问,但what, whatever除了指疑问外,也可以指陈述.

连接副词

连接副词主要有when,where,why,how,whenever,wherever,however等.

二、动词的宾语从句

大多数动词都可以带宾语从句

部分“动词+副词”结构也可以带宾语从句

动词短语也可以带宾语从句

常见的这些词有: make sure确保 make up one’s mind下决心 keep in mind牢记

可运用形式宾语it代替的宾语从句

①动词find,feel,consider,make,believe等后面有宾语补足语的时候,则需要用it做形式宾语而将that宾语从句后置.

②有些动词带宾语从句时需要在宾语与从句前加it

这类动词主要有:hate, take , owe, have, see to.

③若宾语从句是wh-类,则不可用it代替

三、介词的宾语从句

用wh-类的介词宾语从句

用that,if引导的介词宾语从句

有时候except,but,besides三个介词后可见到that引导的宾语从句

四、形容词的宾语从句

引导宾语形容词:sure,certain,glad,please,happy,sorry,afraid,satisfied,surprised

五、if,whether在宾语从句中的区别

① if和whether在作“是否”解时,引导宾语从句常放在动词know,ask,care,wonder,find out等之后,介词后一般不用if

②少数动词,如:leave,put,discuss,doubt后的宾语从句常用whether.

③ whether后可以加or not,但是if不可以.

④在不定式前只能用whether.

⑤避免歧异时,我们常用whether而不用if.

六、哪些宾语从句不可以省略引导词that

当that作learn,suggest,explain,agree,wonder,prove,mean,state,feel,hold等动词的宾语时;

当宾语从句较长时;

当主语状语置于主句尾,宾语从句之前时;

当主语谓语动词(包括非谓语动词)与宾语从句之间有插入语时;

当一个动词带有两个或两个以上宾语从句时,此时第一个that可以省略,第二个that不可以省略;

当宾语从句中的主语是this,that或this,that做主语的定语时;

当宾语从句是双宾语中的直接宾语时;

当宾语从句的主语是非谓语动词或主语从句时;

当主语中的谓语动词是固定词组时;

当宾语从句有it做其先行词时;

在直接引语中,转述分句把宾语从句隔开时.

七、宾语从句的否定转移

主句的谓语动词是think,believe,imagine,suppose,consider,expect,fancy,guess等,并且主句的主语是第一人称而且为一般现在时,从句的否定词一般要转移到主句上来,其反义疑问句一般与宾语从句一致.

如果宾语从句中有某个含有否定意义的形容词或副词,其反义疑问句要用肯定形式.

八、宾语从句的时态和语序

当主句为现在时或将来时,宾语从句的时态一般不受主句的时态所影响.

当主句为过去时

①从句用一般过去时或过去进行时表示与主句谓语动词动作同时发生

②从句过去完成时表示该动作发生在主句谓语动作之前

③从句谓语用过去将来时表示该动作发生在主句谓语动作之后

序数词

分类

英语上数词分为两大类:基数词和序数词。

意义

序数词是指表示顺序的数词。

口诀

基变序,有规律,词尾加上-th。

一,二,三,特殊记,词尾字母t,d,d。

八去t,九除e,ve要用f替,ty将y变成i,th前面有个e。

若是碰到几十几,前用基来后用序。

整十基数变序数,先把ty变成tie,要是遇上2位数,十位基数,个位序,th最后加上去!

序数词

其主要形式:

(1)从第一至第十九:

one— first

two— second/next

three— third

four-fourth

five— fifth

six— sixth

seven— seventh

eight—eighth

nine—ninth

ten— tenth

eleven— eleventh

twelve— twelfth

thirteen —thirteenth

fourteen—fourteenth

fifteen—fifteenth

sixteen—sixteenth

seventeen—seventeenth

eighteen—eighteenth

nineteen—nineteenth

大多的序数词都是由其相对应的基数词后面添加“th”构成。

(2)从第二十至第九十九整数第几十的形式由其对应的基数词改变结尾字母y为ie,再加“th”构成。

twenty——twentieth thirty——thirtieth

表示第几十几时,用几十的基数词形式加上连字符“-”和个位序数词形式一起表示。thirty-first 第三十一 fifty-sixth 第五十六 seventy-third 第七十三 ninety-ninth 第九十九

第一百以上的多位序数词

由基数词的形式变结尾部分为序数词形式来表示。

one hundred and twenty-first 第一百二十一 one thousand,three hundred and twentieth 第一千三百二十twe hundred and fifty-second

序数词的缩写

序数词的缩写形式有时,序数词可以用缩写形式来表示。主要缩写形式有。

first——1st second——2nd third——3rd fourth——4th sixth——6th twentieth——20th twenty-third——23rd

其中lst,2nd,3rd为特殊形式,其它的都是阿拉伯数字后加上th。

序数词的句法功能

序数词在句中可作主语、宾语、定语和表语。

The second is what I really need.第二个是我真正需要的。(作主语)

He choose the second.他挑选了第二个。(作宾语)

We are to carry out the first plan.我们将执行第一个计划。(作定语)

She is the second in our class.在我们班她是第二名。(作表语)

注:序数词在使用时,通常前面要加定冠词 the;但是如果序数词前出现不定冠词a或an 时,则表示“再......”,“又......”。

定语从句(关系副词)

关系副词,顾名思义,是联系先行词和定语从句的词,属于副词。定语从句中的关系副词有三个:when, where和why,它们在定语从句中分别作时间、地点和原因状语。其句法结构如下:

表时间的名词 + when + 定语从句

when指时间,在定语从句中作时间状语。

例句:I still remember the day when I first came to Beijing.

表地点的名词 + where + 定语从句

where指地点,在定语从句中作地点状语。

例句:The factory where his father works is in the west of the city.

表原因的名词reason + why + 定语从句(why只用于reason之后的限制性定语从句中,在定语从句中作原因状语。)

例句:That is the reason why I did the job.(在现代英语中why可以省略)

上句也可以这样表示:

That is the reason I did the job.

又如:This was the reason (why )we raised the temperature.

关系副词在定语从句中的用法看似简单,以下注意点不可忽视:

1)“when”、“where”和“why”的运用取就于表时间的名词、表地点的名词和表原因的名词reason在定语从句中所作的成分,比较下面的几组句子:

*I will never forget the day when I first met you on the seashore.

**This is the hospital where my mother works.

***The reason why he did not go to school is that he was ill.

2) “when”、“where”和“why”都可以替换成“介词 + which”,介词的选用取就于先行词和定语从句中的动词。例如:

Do you still remember the day on which we first met in Nantong?(on which=when) This is the room in which we lived last year.(in which=where)

Do you know the reason for which he refused to go to Mary’s birthday party. (for which=why)

有时定语从句中介词短语和动词有意义紧密的修饰关系,尤其在非限制性定语从句中,常使用“介词 + which”结构,而不使用关系副词。例如:

My mother works in a factory, in front of which there is a small river.

3) 关系副词“when”、“where”既可引导限制性定语从句,也可引导非限制性定语从句。例如:I will always remember the day when I first visited the Great Wall.

有时关系副词“when”、“where”引导的限制性定语从句和先行词有间隔的现象,是为了平衡句子的语法需要。

Do you remember one afternoon ten years ago when I came to your house and borrowed

a diamond necklace?

4) “that”可活用为关系副词,相当于“when, where、why”和“介词 + which”结构,尤其在“the time when”等结构中的“when”常被“that”代替,而且“that”往往省略

I may leave here any time I want to.

5) “which”有时可用作关系形容词,这是“which”在非限制性定语从句中的特殊使用,如:

The doctor advised him to give up smoking, which advice he did not follow.
