I used to be a shy girl in my primary school. I was weak in English at that time, especially for spoken English. So I was afraid to answer the teacher’s questions during English classes.

After I entered my dream middle school, something changed. I started to learn many interesting English stories and my English teacher was patient to help me a lot. I studied hard in class and practiced by watching films and listening to English songs in my free time. Little by little, I found it more and more interesting to learn English. I could even talk with my classmates fluently in English and I was not shy any more. At last, I got high grades in English and I had confidence to do it better in the future.

1 youth youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life. youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20. nobody grows old merely by a number of years. we grow old by deserting our ideals. years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust. whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing appetite for what’s next and the joy of the game of living. in the center of your heart and my heart, there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, courage and power from man and from the infinite, so long as you are young.

Thanksgiving is here, so our minds have turned To what time has taught us, to what we’ve learned: We often focus all our thought On shiny things we’ve shopped and bought; We take our pleasure in material things Forgetting the pleasure that friendship brings. If a lot of our stuff just vanished today, We’d see the foundation of each happy day Is special relationships, constant and true,

And that’s when our thoughts go directly to you. We wish you a Thanksgiving you’ll never forget, Full of love and joy—your best one yet! Never Cry? In a fatal aident So much pain in the body, Really wanted to die, But never wanted to cry In the dealing with things in life So much agony to bear Sometimes wanted to suicide

Idon’t know what I’mbest at; I just can’t live without books. Harry Potter is my favorite one. In Chinese version, the names of the characters from Harry Potter are just sound and mean nothing. But in English version, the names alone will give you an idea of the personality or what they looked like. That is the things lost in translation. For example, Albus Dumbledore. His first name ‘Albus’ is from the Latin word Alba, which means ‘white’. In color symbolism, ‘white’ stands for purity. His last name Dumbledore is old English for “bumblebee”. So his name suggests honor and a hard working nature. So does the scary ‘you-know-who’, Voldemort. Voldemort is French for ‘flight of death’. His original name is Tom Marvolo Riddle. Tom is a random name but Riddle suggests he has secrets and tries to hide from people. Moreover, Tom Marvolo Riddle was made into the anagram ‘I am Lord Voldemort’. That’s really amazing. Do you think so? I still have many names are waiting for your request. And, you know how, always! Thank you!

Bring It all Back Don't stop, never give up, Hold your head high Reach the top. Let the world see what you have got, Bring it all back to you. Hold on what you try to be, Your individuality. When the world is on your shoulders, Just smile and let it go. If people try to put you down, Just walk on by, don't turn around, You only have to answer to yourself. Don't you know it's true what they say, That life, it isn't easy, But your time's coming around, So don't you stop trying. Dream of falling in love, Anything you've been thinking of, When the world seems to get too tough, Bring it all back to you. Try not to worry 'bout a thing. Enjoy the times life can bring. Keep it all inside you, Gotta let the feelings show. Imagination is the key, 'Cause you are your own destiny. You never should be lonely, When time is on your side. Don't you know it's true what they say, Things are sent to try you. But your time's coming around, So don't you stop trying. Don't you know it's true what they say, Things happen for a reason. But your time's coming around, So don't you stop trying.

Lake of Autumn I remember quite clearly now when the story happened. The autumn leaves were floating in measure down to the ground, recovering the lake, where we used to swim like children, under the sun was there to shire. That time we used to be happy. Well, I thought we were. But the truth was that you had been longing to leave me, not daring to tell me. On that precious night, watching the lake, vaguely conscious. You said:" our story is ending." The rain was killing the last days of summer, you had been killing my last breath of love, since a long time ago. I still don't think I'm gonna make it through another love story. You took it all away from me. And there I stand, I knew I was going to be the one left behind. But still I'm watching the lake, vaguely conscious, and I know my life is ending. These Things Shall Never Die 这些美好不会消逝 By --Charles Dickens/查尔斯. The pure.the bright, the beautiful,

FOLLOW YOUR OWN COURSE Neil Simon Don't listen to those who say, “It's not done that way.” Maybe it's not, but maybe you will. Don't listen to those who say, “You're taking too big a chance.” Michelangelo would have painted the Sistine Floor, and it would surely be rubbed out by today. Most importantly, don't listen When the little voice of fear inside of you rear its ugly head and says, “They're all smarter than you out there. They're more talented, They're taller, blonder, prettier, luckier and have connections...” I firmly believe that if you follow a path that interests you, Not to the exclusion of love, sensitivity, and cooperation with others,

But with the strength of conviction That you can move others by your own efforts, And do not make success or failure the criteria by which you live, The chances are you'll be a person worthy of your own respect.

Clement Clarke Moore - 'Twas the Night Before Christmas 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads. And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer. With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
