Modern medicine prolongs peoples life and relieves patients of sufferings from many diseases. Cancer and AIDS are fatal to peoples health. Thanks to the endeavors努力scientists have made, these diseases become treatable.

However, the process of scientific development also arouses many sever problems to our human beings. Internet, though widely used in modern communication, is easy to be destroyed by computer virus. Outer space exploration has produced much waste in the space. A tiny metal, a screw螺丝钉, for example can destroy a flying man-made satellite. Industrialization is making natural resources become scarce.

Confronted with these problems, scientists are seeking prompt and feasible可行的solutions. The development of science and technology bring about both positive and negative effects to us. We must eliminate the positive effects to the least extent.

Does modern technology help students learn more information and learn it more quickly?

Marvelous非凡的as it looks at first sight, modern technology does not help students learn information at a greater speed and with higher efficiency in most cases; or it could work towards the opposite direction which led students to lose their initiative主动to learn and explore.

First of all, one property of modern technology is latently潜在的harmful to any learning mind – it distracts. Also, students would easily become disoriented in the huge sea of information. Although modern technology could equip us with easy access to information, the huge amount of resources would actually leave us discombobulated困惑的. Therefore, it is only we possess information more quickly rather than we learn it more quickly. An illustrating example is my experience with a HK digital library which stores almost all the books I desire. At first I enjoyed downloading them from the database, however, one month later I ended up with hundreds of books stored in my hardware计算机硬件yet none of them finished or ever clicked.

Furthermore, modern technology gives students an illusion that information and real knowledge is easy to learn – just by clicking mouse or watching videos. But in fact this forms only the first step towards useful information and effective learning, as learning of any kind requires full concentration and interactive thinking, which are almost absent in the pocess of popular e-learning experience.

To summarize, modern technology does not help students learn more information and learn it more quickly, though it does make access to information and resources much more easily. The

popular e-learning still lacks the concentration, depth, and interaction合作that are the hallmark特点of traditional ways of educating and learning.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for taking time to read this letter. As the problem of food safety has been becoming worse and worse nowadays, I am obliged to write to you.

Several days ago, one of my classmates came back from supermarket with a large bag of food. Because of having found a new style of tinned fish in the food store, she was very glad. Several other roommates w ere invited to enjoy the “mouth watering chicken”. Unfortunately, after finishing the f ood, all of my three friends had stomachaches and vomited, their faces having become paler and paler. Due to sensitivity to that kind of tinned food, I escaped that suffer. At that time, my mind went blank. I dialed the emergency number with my trembling hand, therefore they were quickly sent to hospital. The doctor said they were lucky to be out of danger because they did not eat too much of that rotten fish and were hospitalized on time.

This is the matter that happened around me which made me realize

the seriousness of the food safety problem. I sincerely hope that the whole society could attach much importance to this issue. Thanks!

To begin with, it is high time that we realized the fact that our living environment and some natural resources are being destroyed in the blind pursue of GDP increase. have a good knowledge of green GDP. Only in these ways can we have a sustainable development and a harmonious society.
