A man had four sons. The sons never stopped quarelling(争吵，吵架) with each other. He was always telling them how much easier life would be if they worked together. But they just didn’t listen to him.

It was a very foggy(有雾的) day in London. The fog was so thick that it was impossible to see more than a foot(英尺) away. Buses, cars and taxis were not able to run and were standing by the side of the road. People were trying to find their way around on foot but were losing their way in the fog.

A water bearer(挑水工) in India had two large pots(罐子), each was hung(悬挂) on

each end of a pole(扁担).

One of the pots had a crack(裂缝) in it, and the other pot was perfect and was always

half full. And this lasted for two years.

Pablo Picasso was born in Spain in 1881. His father was a painter and art teacher and he

gave his son the first lesson in drawing. He won a prize-----“Science and Charity” for his

first important painting when he was only fifteen. He studied in several cities in Spain. But

there was no one to teach him all that he wanted to know. When he was nineteen, he

visited Paris.

Paris was then the center of the world for artists. Everything that was new and exciting in

live and lived in France for the rest of his life.
