仲夏夜之梦
第一幕第一场 (城中)
口白：
There was a law in the city of Athens which gave to its citizens the power of forcing their daughters to m arry whomever they pleased. For if a daughter refused to marry the man her father had chosen to be her husband, the father might by thus law cause her to be put to death.
在雅典有一条法律赋予市民权力，可以强迫他们的女儿嫁给他们所喜欢的人，因此如果女儿拒绝父亲为她选的丈夫，依据这条法律，父亲可以自行判她死刑。
Egeus: Hermia, you have to marry Demetrious, the best guy in the city.
荷米亚，你必须嫁给狄米崔斯，这城中最好的年轻人。
Hermia: I’m sorry, Dad! I can’t be his wife.
爸爸，抱歉。我不能成为他的妻子。
Egeus: Why do you refused to marry Demetrius? He is really a worthy gentleman!

Hermia: But I don’t love him. I’ve fell in love with Lysander.

Hermia: Oh! Dad! Demettrious had ever said that he love my friend, Helena, and she, a sweet lady also l ove him deeply.

Egeus: If you don’t marry Demetrious, I’ll use the ancient right of Athens, asking to put you to death acc ording to our law! (下)
如果你不嫁给狄米崔斯，根据我们的法律，我将用雅典的古律法要求判你死刑。
Hermia: Oh! Please, please do not! My dear father! Don’t you love me any more? Don’t give me up, plea se!

Lysander上场
Lysander: Sweet Hermia, my love! What’s going wrong? Let me wipe your heart-breaking tears!

Hermia: My father said that unless I marry Demetrious, or he’ll be put me to death! What can I do?
我爸爸说，除非我嫁给狄米崔斯，否则他将处死我，我该怎麼办？
Lysander: Fear not and hear me. Tomorrow night, I’ll wait for you in the wood a few miles outside the cit y. If you really love me, getting far away this sad city with me.

Hermia: I will because I love you so.

Helena上场
Helena: Hello! Hermia.

Hermia: I’m so glad to see you, my friend!

Helena: But Demetrious love you. Oh, tech me how to attract his eyes, please?

Helena: I will go tell Demetrious of fair Hermia’s flight, and then he’ll pursue her. I just want to have his si ght again. (下)
我要去告诉狄米崔斯,美丽的荷米亚将要离开，然後他将会去追寻她，而我只是想再看见他的容貌。
第二幕第一场 (森林中)
口白：
The wood was a favorite meeting-place of those little, beings known by the name of fairies. Between this little king and green of spirits there happened, at this time, a sad disagreement.
这个树林是精灵最喜欢的聚会地点，可是仙王和仙后此时发生了严重的争吵。
Oberon: I’ll meet by moonlight, proud Titania.
真不巧又在月光下遇见你，傲慢的泰妲妮亚。
Titania: What, jealous Oberon! Fairies, run hence; I have left his company.
嘿，嫉妒的欧波隆，小精灵们，快跑。我已经离开他的同伴了。
Oberon: Wait, foolish fairy, why do you oppose me so? Give me that little boy to be my slave.
等一等，傻精灵，你为什麼要违抗我？让那个小男孩当我的奴隶。
Titania: Set your heart at rest, your whole fairy kingdom will not buy the boy from me. (下)
别想，你就是用整个精灵王国也买不到这个小男孩。
Oberon: Well, go your way. Before the morning dawns, I will make you suffer for this injury. Come here, my gentle Puck.

Puck: I’m here, my lord.

Oberon: Fetch me the flower which maids call Love in Idleness; the juice of that little purple flower, laid o n the eyelids of those who sleep, will make them, when they awake, love madly the first thing they see. And before I will take this charm from off her sight, which I can do with another charm I know of, I will ma ke her give that boy to be my slave.
替我把少女们称做``枉费之爱``的花拿来，一旦将那紫色小花的汁液滴在睡眠者的眼皮上，当他们醒来时，便会疯狂的爱上所看到的第一件东西。在解除这魔法之前，我要让那个小男孩当我的奴隶。

Oberon: But who comes here? I am invisible. And I will overhear their conference.

Demetrious和 Helena 上
Demetrious: I don’t love you at all, so you don’t pursue me. Where are Lysander and fair Hermia? You t
old me they are there, but I can’t meet my Hermia. Go away and follow me no more.
我不爱你，所以别跟著我，莱赛德和美丽的荷米亚在那儿？你告诉我，他们在这里，但是我找不到我的荷米亚。快走，不许再跟著我。
Helena: You draw me, you hard-hearted adamant.

Helena: Don’t leave me alone. Please stay, though you kill me. (下)
不要离开我，请留下吧，就算你杀了我。
Oberon: The poor girl! I have to help her. Welcome, wanderer, has you get the flower? (Puck上)
可怜的女孩，我得帮助她。欢迎啊，浪游者，你把花采来了吗？
Puck: Ay, there it is.
是的，就在这儿。
Oberon: Thank you, my cute spirit. Take a part of this flower: there has been a sweet lady here, who is i n love with a cruel youth. If you find him sleeping, drop some of the love-juice in his eyes. But see that y ou do it when he awakes maybe this lady. You will know the man by the Athenian garments he wears. 谢谢，我可爱的精灵，拿走一些花，这里有一位甜美的少女爱上了冷酷的年轻人。如果你发现他睡著了，就把爱情的汁液滴进他的眼睛里，但是，一定要确定他醒来时就看到那少女。你可以由他穿的雅典服饰认出他。
Puck: Don’t worry, my lord, your servant shall do so. (两人同下)

第二幕第二场 (仙后的寝宫)
仙女们忙著做事，此时仙后进来
Titania: Fairies, sing me now asleep; then to your offices and let me rest. (睡)
精灵们，在我沉睡之前唱首歌，然後，各做各的事，让我休息一会儿。
仙女唱歌跳舞然後散去；仙王上
Oberon: What you see when you do you awake, do it for your true love take. Love and languish for his s ake. (下)
当你醒来时所看到的就是你的真爱，并为他担起相思债。
第三幕第一场 (森林的另一处)
Lysander: Fair love, you faint with wandering in the wood; if you think it good, and tarry for the comfort of the day.
好人，你在树林中跋涉著，累得快要昏倒了，要是你同意，让我们休息一下吧。
Hermia: Be it so, Lysander. Good night, sweet lover.
就照你的意思吧，莱赛德。晚安，爱人。
Lysander: I wish sleep give you all his rest!
愿睡眠给你充分的休养。
Hermia: I will share with you.
我愿与你分享。
两人同睡，Puck上
Puck: Ah! Who is here? This is he, the cruel youth. And she is the lady. Pretty soul! She durst not lie nea r this lack-love. Churl, I’ll drop the love-juice in your eyes. Hey! It’s so funny! (下)
啊，谁在这儿？这是那残酷的年轻人，而她就是那个女孩。美丽的人儿，她竟然不敢睡近这没心肝的恶汉。坏东西，我将在你的眼精滴进爱情的花液。嘿，真有趣。
Helena上
Helena: I am out of breath in the fond chase! The more my prayer, the lesser is my grace. Who is lying o n the ground? Oh! He is Lysander! Is he dead or asleep? Good sir, if you are alive, awake.
这痴心的追赶使我累得喘不过气来，我愈是祈求，却愈惹他讨厌。是谁躺在地上?喔，是莱赛德，他是死了还是睡著了?好先生，如果你还活著，就醒醒吧。
Lysander: What a pretty beauty! Helena, I would through fire for your sweet sake.
多漂亮的美女，海伦娜，我愿为你赴汤蹈火。
Helena: Do not say so, Lysander. Don’t you love Hermia?
别这麼说，莱赛德。你不爱荷米亚吗？
Lysander: I don’t love her at all. For me, she is just a black raven, and you are a white dove.
我一点也不爱她，对我而言，她只是只乌鸦，而你是只白鸽。
Helena: Oh! Why was I born to be mocked and though nothing of by everyone? Is it not enough, young man? That a lady, of one man refused, should of another be so abused! (下)
喔，为什麼我生下来就被每个人嘲笑，而不被尊重？年轻人，这还不够吗？
一个女子被一个男人拒绝，还得忍受另一个男人的揶揄。
Lysander: All my power, address your love and might to honor Helena and to be her knight! (下)
我的一切生命之力啊，用爱和力来尊崇海伦娜，做她忠实的武士吧。
Hermia醒
Hermia: Lysander! Lysander! Where do you go? No sound? No word! If you hear me, please talk to me!
I swoon almost with fear. But, where do you go?
莱赛德！莱赛德！你去那儿了？没有回音，不说一句话？如果你听得到，请回答我，我快因害怕而昏倒了，但你去那儿了?
Demetrious上
Demetrious: you are here, my dear Hermia! I found you for a long time.

Oberon和Puck 上
Oberon: Did you finish your work, Puck?

Puck: Sure, I did. And the woman is by his side: when he waked, of course she must be eyed.

Oberon: Hey! He is there! What did you do? Why does the cruel man still sleep here? You must made m istake!

Bottom: Oh! I lost my way.

Oberon: This fellow shall be my Titania’s true love.

Puck: How about dressing him with an ass’s head?

Bottom: Hello! Is anyone here? I need someone to help me!

Oberon: Hmmm, it’s a good idea!

Puck: How interesting!

Bottom: It seems that there is no one. I think I’d better go forward. (下)

第三幕第二场 (仙后的寝宫)
Bottom: How tired I am! Who can help me?

Titania: Ah! What a cute angel is that I see! (现身)Are you as wise as you are beautiful?

Bottom: Why, mistress, if I have wit enough to find the way out of this wood, I have to serve my purpose!

Titania: Go with me, I am a spirit of no common kind. I do love you and I’ll give you fairies to attend upon you.

Bottom: That sounds very good! Could I have the wonderful life?
听起来真好！我能享受这种生活吗？
Titania: Of course! Come, honey, sit down upon this flowery bed. Let me play with your pretty hairy chee ks and kiss your fair large ears, my beautiful ass!

第四幕第一场 (森林中Demetrious沉睡之处)
Lysander: Why should you think that I should woo in scorn? I just hope you could love me.
为什麼你要以为我的求爱不过是嘲笑你呢？我只是希望你爱我罢了。
Helena: Do you give Hermia up? You should vow to her.
你放弃荷米亚了吗？你的誓言都是应该向她说的。
Lysander: My heart to her but as a guest, now my heart to you as a son comes home, never leave
我对她的心不过像个过客，现在我对你的心就像回到家的游子，再不离去了。.
Demetrious醒来
Demetrious: Oh! Helena, perfect goodness! How ripe in show your lips, those tempting grow! Oh! Let m e kiss your pure white hand.
噢！海伦娜！完美的女神！你的嘴唇是多麼诱人！让我亲吻那纯白的手吧！
Helena: Oh! Spite! You both love Hermia, and now you both mock me! I know you hate me, but you mus t join in souls to mock me too?
唉！倒霉！你们都爱著荷米亚，而现在你们也一同嘲笑我！我知道你们讨厌我，但为什麼还要联合起来讥讽我呢？
Demetrious: Lysander, keep your Hermia. Helena is mine!

Helena: you make me confused. Who should I believe in?

Lysander: Because I do not love you, don’t you know?

Lysander: All I say is true. I do hate you and love Helena. You can be out of hope.

Helena: Now I know that they have conjoined all you to fashion this false sport, in spite of me. Unkind H ermia, if you had any pity, grace, or manners, you would not join with men in laughing at your poor friend. 现在我明白了，他们三人一起联合起来捉弄我。没情没义的荷米亚，如果你有点同情心，慈悲心，或一些礼貌的话，就不应该和男人一起嘲笑你可怜的朋友。
Hermia: I am filled with wonder at your angry words. I do not laugh at you; it seems you laugh at me.

Hermia: What change is this? Oh! You thief of love! What, have you come by night and stolen my love’s heart from him?
是什麼改变了一切？噢！你这爱情的小偷！哼，你趁著夜晚把我爱人的心偷走了吗？
Helena: Good Hermia, do not be so bitter with me. I evermore did love you, Hermia, did ever keep your counsels, never lie you. And now, let me go. You see how simple and how fond I am. (下)
好荷米亚，不要对我这样凶。我一直是爱你的，荷米亚，有什麼事总和你商量，从不曾欺骗你。现在，让我走吧。你看我是多麼傻多麼痴心。
Hermia: Ok, get you gone. I am amazed, and know not what to say. (下)

Oberon: Puck, this is your carelessness; or did you do it purposely?
派克，这都是因为你的粗心，还是你故意的？
Puck: Believe me, king of shadows, it was a mistake; However, I am not sorry this has happened, for I th ink their quarrelling makes an excellent game.

Oberon: You heard, Demetrious and Lysander are gone to seek a place to fight in. I command you to fill the night with a thick fog, and let they shall not be able to find each other. And when they are asleep, dro p the juice of this other flower into Lysander’s eyes.
你听著：狄米崔斯和莱赛德已经去找地方打架了。我命令你使黑夜中充满浓雾好让他们找不到对方。当他们睡著时，就解除莱赛德的魔法。
Puck: I know, I know
我懂，我懂。
Oberon: Go about this quickly, Puck. I will go and see my queen and beg the little boy; and then I will rel ease her charmed eyes from monster’s view, and all things shall be peace. (两人同下)
派克，赶快去办这件事！我会去看我的皇后并且乞求那个小男孩而且解除她的幻觉。一切事情都将和平解决。
第四幕第二场 (仙后寝宫中，仙后醒来)
Titania: Oh! My sweet, I love you so much, and never leave you. ( Oberon 上)

Oberon: Hey! What are you doing now? Where does the ass come from?
嘿！你在做什麼呀？这头驴子打从那来的？
Titania: Gosh! What can I say? Hmmm… he is …he is…is….

Oberon: I must tell you, you should not show kindness to an ass.
我必须告诉你，你不该对一只驴子如此仁慈。
Titania: But, as you see, he is so charming. However, please forgive me.

Oberon: Unless you give me the little boy.

第五幕第一场 (森林中四人熟睡著)
口白：These people, at no great distance from each other, sleeping on a grass-plot.
Puck: Look! How careful I am! I’ll release the magic. When you are awake, everyone will find true love. T his is really a happy ending! (下)
看！我是多麼的小心！我要解除魔法。当你们醒来时，每个人将找到真爱。这真是快乐结局！
大家都醒来
Hermia: Oh! Lysander, the doings of the night are too strange! Do you still love me or not?
噢！莱赛德，今晚真奇怪！你还爱不爱我？
Lysander: I still crazy about you! But I dreamed I love Helena ……how mad!

Hermia: Ay! I had the same dream!
