Summary: The Phantom of the Opera The story dated back in 19th century and happened in an opera on the Rue-Scribe side. There had been a legend about the Opera Ghost for a long time, and it turned out that it was not a supernatural creature but a man named Erik who was born ugly and abandoned by his family. Although he was ugly, he was very talented and versatile, such as he had beautiful voice and could perform conjuring tricks as well as design buildings. He made the opera his private kingdom, trying every means to make the managers to meet his needs like 20,000 francs every month and reserving the Box Five to his own. He also had a friend, Persian, who sympathized with Erik’s poor life but worried that he did something inappropriate. Persian knew him and his mechanism very well, so he played an important part in the story. Erik’s another friend was the loyal box keeper, Mme Giry, who had received some tips and candies from the ghost although she never saw him in person. In addition, the phantom promised to make her daughter, the little Meg to become the empress in the future, so she gave her soul to Erik by sending envelop to him or keeping his private box in order.

An important character who aroused the conflict was a young actress, Christine, whose mother died when she was only 6 years old. She was brought up by his father in a small Scandinavian village, a famous but very poor fiddler. He always brought his daughter while he gave shows to the villagers. Later, he met Professor V alerius who admired the musician’s

talent very much and invited him to live with his family. So Christine and her father moved to Paris with Mr. and Mrs. V alerius, living in a small town named Perros. Y ears later, Mr. V alerius died, so did Christine’s father. She moved to the city with Mrs. V alerius and became a singer in the opera. However, she seemed to have lost her voice, her soul and genius when since her father died. Until recent few months, she progressed greatly, and amazed the audience in a public show. She even surprised her self and fainted on the stage. Actually, she had been taught by a secret teacher at that time. It’s exactly the Phantom of the Opera. At the beginning, she didn’t know it was the Opera Ghost, taking it for granted that the voice came from the Angle of Music. Her father had told her that every great musician, every great artist received a visit from the Angel at least once in his life.

It’s clear that the Opera Ghost had fallen in love with Christine, but the problem was that it’s Raoul whom she loved. Raoul was a playmate of Christine when they were young and living in Perros. At that time, Vicomte Raoul de Chagny was staying at Lannion with is aunt. He was from one of the most distinguished family in France, whose arms dated back to the fourteenth century. The Chagnys owned a great deal of property. His brother, the Comte de Chagny, who was twenty years older, became the head of the family when their father died. The Comte was very proud of his little brother, thinking that someday Raoul would become successful

and famous in the navy.

The classes that Erik gave Christine had been a secret until after that successful performance, because Raoul overheard it outside the dressing room. He was very jealous that someone was in the room and broke into it, but he found no body there. Since then, Christine hadn’t showed up on the stage for quite a long time. She wrote Raoul a letter, inviting him to visit her father’s grave together. Raoul was very excited and worried, thinking about all kinds of things. Although he was eager to see Christine, he didn’t control his feelings very well and had an argument with her. In the late evening, he found Christine went out all by herself, so she followed her and came to the grave. There, they listened to the most beautiful music that Christine’s father had played before. Wondering who was playing the music, Raoul came in front of the grave after Christine left. To his great surprise and astonishment, he saw the ugly face of Erik and fainted immediately. It was winter at that time and Raoul got a severe cold when he was carried home by some people. In the following days, Christine seemed to be disappeared, and there were many rumors about her, such as she was staying with a man. Raoul went to her Mme V alerius’ home to see her but didn’t get much information. One night, when he was walking on the Rue Scribe, he witnessed Christine was on a carriage with a man and ignored his existence. He got heart broken. On a costume ball, Christine tried to explain everything to him, but without convincing explanation,

Raoul didn’t believe her, so they took apart unhappily. Raoul wanted to apologize to Christine, and when he was in the dressing room, he heard Christine called poor Erik and saw her disappear into the mirror miraculously.

Raoul was so confused that he went to Mme V alerius’home again. When he saw a gold ring on Christine’s finger, he became out of mind and asked her who Erik was. Christine begged him to forget the name without any explanation. The next day, Raoul went to tell Christine that he wa about to go to the Polar Expedition in a month, so Christine suggested a secret engagement between them. But after they get along further, Christine realized that he loved Raoul and finally decided to tell him everything in an evening. They planed to escape the next day when she finished her last play. But everything was known by Erik and he had come up with the idea how to take revenge. When Christine was performing her last play, he mysteriously disappeared from the stage. Obviously, she was kidnapped by the Opera Ghost.

Just when the relationship among the three main characters went along, some big changes took place in the opera. At the beginning, when the two managers, Moncharmin and Richard, took over the opera, poor scene shifter Joseph Buquent was hung died from the third cellar, near the scene of Roi de Lahore. Then, the two managers received the revenge from the Opera Ghost, for they didn’t follow his requirements, selling tickets of Box

Five, forbidding Christine to replace Carlotta to play the main character and dismissing the loyal box keeper, Mme. Giry. Therefore, the Phantom used some magic when the act was on by making Carlotta spill a toast and letting the chandelier fall upon the Mr. Richard’s gatekeeper. Although two managers hired Mme. Giry again, they didn’t give up finding the criminal. But Erik’s trick just drove them crazy. When the opera became chaos, they didn’t know anything about their missing actress Christine.

The commissary told Raoul that Comte de Chagny had kidnapped Christine, which was nonsense. Actually, his older brother was trying to save the actress but unfortunately killed by the siren under the ground. The only one who knew what happened to Christine was the Persian, and he led the Vicomte Raoul to find her. On their way, they met a horrified rat-catcher and suffered a lot in the torture chamber. Luckily, they finally found Christine who was being proposed by Erik. If she didn’t agree, Erik would trigger the explosion which was to ruin the whole opera. So Christine accepted the proposal but lost all her good impression of Erik, which also made Erik feel regretful. He decided to released them and give the happy couple his best wishes. In the end, Raoul and Christine as well as the Mme. V alerius went to live in a quite small town without being bothered by those rumors and scandals. And the Phantom of the Opera died in peace.

My Comment

Among the books I read this semester, my favorite one was The Phantom of the Opera. The theme seemed very simple, the love triangle, but I found the plot was well-designed and very attractive. It’s a story told by an outsider who not only went to visit the people involved in the events, but also researched a large quantity of written resources, so it made feel the story really happened. Compared with fictions and fairy tales, real stories always attracted me more.

There are many parts of this story that I liked very much. First one is, of course, the love between Christine and Raoul. I felt they were born to be together. Christine was pretty and innocent, having great mercy about poor and unfortunate people. And Raoul had all characters that a gentleman needed--a noble family background, integrity, handsome look, persistence and love to Christine. He had loved her since he was a little boy and was still in love with her after so many years. It’s touching and moving. At the beginning, they did n’t communicate with each other very well. While reading the lines when they argued with each other, I felt heart-broken just as they did and anxious about how they could get each other understood. So when they finally opened heart to one the other, I was so happy about them, however, worried about Erik’s revenge at the same time. As I had expected, Christine was kidnapped by the Opera Ghost, and the inevitable conflict happened. I appreciated Raoul more when he went to save

Christine without delay, proving his love to her. Finally, through the thunder and storm, the happy couple got together and fled to their happy life. I’d like to thank the author giving me this happy ending.

Another part I also liked very much was the bifacial character—Erik, also known as the Phantom of the Opera. I think the characterization of him was very successful. In the first place, Erik was a poor man to be born ugly. Facing the indifferences of his friends and families, as well as the insulting of others made him who he was—a man hating those wiseacres and hypocritical people, being cold to the world. And in order to survive, he had to learn all kinds of skills to make himself strong. I could tell he was a kind, considerate and versatile man. When I read the chapter about how he punished Carlotta and two managers who didn’t follow his requirement, I chuckled to myself. These people were so arrogant that they deserved what they had suffered. But on the other hand, something he did really made me disappointed, such as killing the scene shifter. It’s so cruel. In addition, his love to Christine went to the extreme. He loved her, arranged everything for her without considering her feelings—the fear of death and the fear of being captured. But when he let her go, I forgave him for all mistakes he had done before.

As I said at the beginning, I like the attractive and unpredictable plots very much. The author gave us two main threads of this article, one was the relationship among the three main characters, and the other was the

story that took place in the opera. Events happened one after another, and doubtful points kept coming up, which attracted me to find the answer by continuing reading.

Apart from the plot, this book gave me a lot of information about Paris at that period of time. For instance, men from higher class were called Vicomate or Comte, women were called Mamma or Mme. The road was named with Rue, and enjoying opera was very popular to keep it running. They were really informative, so I liked this book the best.

IS100S02伺服驱动器使用说明(简要) 这里我们使用IS100S02伺服驱动器对ISMD1-5B0280A-I120X永磁式伺服电机进行控制。 使用伺服驱动器之前，要使伺服驱动器恢复出厂设置，将PA01设置为1即可恢复出厂设置。接下来，我们将进行功能键的设置。 首先要设置电机参数，可在F1组设置电机参数（详情请看手册P27页说明）。额外还要进行旋转编码器脉冲数的设置位于F214中，对于如上电机，我们需设置为1000。并且设置F100为1。选为同步电机。 设置好电机参数后，需要对电机进行调谐。先将F002设置为0。然后将F114设置为4。详情请看手册P49页说明。 我们要对上述电机进行控制要进行如下设置：（参数说明在手册P27页） 1：F000设置控制方式。这里我们设置成1，利用伺服驱动器自带的旋转编码器进行闭环矢量控制。 2：F001设置运行方式。这里我们设置成0，进行速度控制方式。 3：F002设置命令源。这里要额外注意，这里的设置取决去PLC、伺服驱动器、伺服电机之间的连线。它有如下设置： a)0：操作面板面板控制。 此模式的频率可在F004中设置。

汇川伺服驱动器问题案例分析 案例一驱动器频繁出现Err45报警 原因分析：①电机转速过高，导致电机发热严重。故出现温度保护报警。首先用手感受一下电机的温度，如烫手，再用万用表测量PTC的阻值，如大于1.88KΩ，说明电机温度确实过高，需检查电机的冷却水及考虑因负载过重而更换大一级的电机。②驱动器主板PTC端子有虚焊。如在电机温度很低，且温度保护线没有断路的情况下可判断为此情况。 案例二驱动器频繁出现主机ERR47及从机ERR42报警 原因分析：出现该报警为主从机的CAN通讯受到了干扰，主要原因为①CAN通讯连线没有用屏蔽线且屏蔽层需要接地。 ②机器接地不良。 ③多系统出现该报警有可能是中间的驱动器J8跳针没有拔出。 ④从机有其他报警，导致从机先报警，再导致主机报警。 案例三驱动器出现Err44报警 原因分析：①伺服系统的干扰太大，编码器受到干扰，可在编码器线两端加绕磁环,如还不能解决，需将驱动器的电源输入端也加装磁环。 ②速度太快，特别是在双系统及多系统中。 ③PG卡损坏。 案例四驱动器出现Err10报警 原因分析：①电机电角度出现偏差，导致电流逐渐变大，最终引发报警，可重新做电机调谐再次找出电机的零位。 ②电机或油泵卡死，导致电机转不动，由于系统一般会设定底压，但电机又转不 动，所以电流会上升到最高电流，最终引发报警。 案例五驱动器出现Err46报警 原因分析：①压力传感器断线或损坏。 ②双系统的从机出现该报警，为A3-21参数没有设定为0 ③油泵卡死或电机卡死。 ④驱动的额定频率没有设定正确。 案例六驱动器出现Err14报警 原因分析：①驱动器的散热风扇损坏或散热片太脏。 ②驱动器负载太重，检查是否配置偏小或油路有泄漏导致负载太重，电流太高。 案例七驱动器出现Err49报警 原因分析：①编码器断线或PG卡故障。
