2011级第三学期英语口语考试题及要求

1、考试时间由各位老师灵活安排，但务必要在期末前完成。老师要提前2周把题目公

布给学生，让学生做准备。

2、本次口语试题分两部分进行：第一部分：朗读Reading Aloud。由老师指定课本上的

一段文字给考生朗读。第二部分：2人对话Dialogue。此部分共有5个话题。学生必须事先准备好试题给出的所有5个话题，考前10分钟通过抽签决定考试的话题并准备10分钟。考试时学生先分别朗读指定文字，再就所抽题目进行2人对话。

3、对话时要求学生脱稿完成。考试时间不能少于2分钟。鼓励学生尽量多说。建议学

生不要死记硬背，要恰当运用语音、语调、表情、动作，自然地、灵活地待自己的角色。

4、老师根据学生的语音语调（20%）、流利程度（30%）、语言组织（30%）、表现（20%）

等4个方面进行综合评分，总分为10分。

5．建议：优：9-9.5分段占5%-15%（原则上不高于9.5分）

良：8-8.9分段占35%-45%，

中：7-7.9分段占35%-45%，

及格：6-6.9分段占5%-15%（原则上只要能组织语言，内容切题则不低于6分）。

Situation: A college student and a foreign teacher are discussing the problem of business ethics.

Role A: You are Li, a college student. You think the problem of business ethics is so controversial that sometimes it’s hard to say whether an action is morally right or wrong. So you want to know what marketing ethics is and discuss the problem with your teacher.

Role B: You are James Philip, a foreign teacher. You explain your point of view in some detail.

Situation: Two friends are talking about dreams for the future.

Role A: With the coming of his 30th birthday, Jack feels depressed about the big gap between his current situation and the goals he would like to have achieved now and in the future.

Role B: Listening to Jack’s worry and dreams for the future, you try to comfort him and cheer him up.

A: I think English will be the lingua franca in the 21st century.

B: What makes you think that ?

A: Well ,English is already widely used in world communication ,international business and social and cultural exchanges.

B: That’s ture but it doesn’t mean that it will become the lingua franca

Linguistically ,.English isn’t an ideal language for cybercommunication because it takes a lot more cyberspace than some other languages like Chinese.

A: You’re right here but in terms of information distribution and international communication , Chinese can’t compare with English . International business is often conducted in English and 90% of the information available from the internet is also in English . Isn’t it great ? B: Are you serious? It’s really unfair to non-native speakers .

A: But you still want to learn English , don’t you ? Konwing English is definitely an advantage for surfing on the Net . And if you’re good at English in China , you’ll have a better job and higher ststus , won’t you ?

B: Maybe . But why not make Chinese the world language ? It has more native speakers than English does.

A: But I think Chinese is more complex and difficult to learn.

B: Maybe , but Chinese is still one of the most important trading partners and it’s the world’s largest market. If you are a businessperson you must learn Chinese .

A: Why ? English is a status symbol in China now . All businessman are learning to communication in English . They want to learn English .

B: Maybe that’s the case now but it could change in the future . And I think in order to take advantage of this fast-developing economy , you need to understand the culture and history of China . The only way to do that is to learn the lanage . So maybe in the long run

, Chinese will become a much desired language to learn , maybe even the lingua franca . A: Perhaps a long way down the track , but for now , I think we’d better keep studying English !

Reporter: Can you tell us what marketing ethics are, or what you understand them to be?

Li Ming: Well, it is a bit of controversial area. It’s basically all about moral principles. It’s the decision that has to be made about issues, usually potentially explosive issues, uhm, and whether certain actions are morally right or morally wrong.

Reporter: It must be a very difficult problem for many managers. It’s not easy to find a definite answer to questions concerning business, or marketing ethics.

Li Ming: Yes, you are right, that’s the point. Obviously who should judge whether it is morally right or wrong is a matter of opinion. I mean, what is morally right for one person may be morally wrong for another.

Reporter: So, in a company who would usually decide?

Li Ming: Well, I think in a large company, it is no a single person’s responsibility. They must have some kind of uniform guidelines and policies that are put into practice throughout the organization, Th ey have to establish them in an ethical way, and once it’s set, this code should then be applied to all sectors including marketing, and...

Reporter: The workers individually make decisions in line with the code? That makes sense.

Jack: It's my 30th birthday next week.

Bob: Great! Let's throw a party!
