Third, try to finish the homework after class. Fourth, go over what I have learnt in class regularly at home. Without review, you will absolutely forget what you’ve learnt as quickly as possible. So reviewing is helpful in understanding and memorizing what you’ve learnt.

I have made a lot of improvements in English. The following is my way to overcome the difficulties. Everyday, I do half an hour’s morning reading to try to pronounce every word out. And I will then spend half an hour listening to English radios like BBC to correct my pronunciation. Because I have trouble in English grammar, I attend a full-time English class of STVU to study grammar. The teacher recommends me to buy a grammar book—《Advanced English Grammar》. It helps me with my English study a lot. These above are what I have done to overcome my difficulties.

5) My Study Plan学习计划

A new semester is coming, in order to study English well, I make a study plan. First, try to remember 20 words from dictionary everyday. Second, go over grammar points I have learnt in English class regularly. Third, form a habit of reading an English article in China Daily every day.

Fourth, write an English composition every week and ask teacher to revise that for me to improve the writing level. Fifth, listen to English radio as often as possible to improve my listening.

Since I am now working in an American company where I have to use English every day, I began studying English in Shanghai Jiaotong University this summer. But it’s really very hard. There are seven people in my family. They're my grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, my two younger brothers and I. My father is a businessman. He's busy working everyday. My grandparents help my parents look after the youngest brother every day. We go to the movies every Sunday. How's your family?

Mr. Zhu divided us into three groups and then we began working. Group One was responsible to plant trees and water flowers. Group Two were busy collecting litter left by the tourists. Although we consider ourselves as highly advanced beings living in a civilized society, bad manners can still be found here and there. For example, some cyclists run the red traffic lights, many passengers litter waste papers and plastic bags in public places, and some tourists scrabble in tourist attractions, let alone spit on the street. In the cinema, some people talk loudly on cell phones in front of others.

I’m strongly against talking loudly in the cinema, for this behavior shows no respect at all to others; what’s worse, it upsets the audience who are in the mood of having fun.

A famous saying goes that “money is a good servant but a bad master.” Should we become its masters or its slaves? I think we should be the masters of money and never be controlled by money. And of course you can work to better off you life. So I think health is more important for me than wealth.

In short, it is important that we do not give up when working for our goals.
