一、enough to的用法

1.enough意思是“充分地，足够”，放在名词之前，形容词、副词之后。

例：他跑得不够快。He didn’t run fast enough.

没有足够的食物。There are not enough food.

【拓展】enough也可以做名词，可以解释为“足够，充分”

例：I have eaten enough, Thank you. 我已经吃饱了，谢谢。

2.我们可以用“形容词+enough +to do”的结构来描述一个人的品质和能力。例：He is tall enough to reach the top of the fridge. 他足够高可以够到冰箱顶上。He is strong. He can lift it. He is strong enough to lift it. 他强壮地可以举起它。

3.这个结构可以用so ……that……(如此……以至于……）代替，that后面加从句

He is so strong that he can lift it. 他是如此强壮以至于可以把它举起来。

4.还可以用“形容词+enough for sb. to do ”这个结构表示“……对某人来说足够……”

例：这本书很容易，你能够看懂。The book is easy enough for you to read.

二、too…to…的用法

1. too …to…的意思是“太……而不能……”too后面是跟形容词或副词的，to 是不定式的标志，后加动词原形。这个结构用在句子中意义上通常表示否定。例: He is too poor to buy a new coat. 他穷得买不起一件新衣服。

2.还可以用“too+形容词+for sb. to do ”这个结构表示“对某人来说太……而不能……”

例：The box is heavy. The boy can’t carry it. = The box is too heavy for the boy to carry.

This story is too difficult for me to understand. 这个故事太难，我不能理解。

3.当too前面有否定词比如never, not, nothing等时，句子表示肯定。

例：You’re never too old to learn. 活到老，学到老。

4.too…to…可以和enough to do和so ……that……转换

①too…to…和enough to do 转换时，注意enough 前面的形容词和too前面的形容词要互为反义词

She is too young to do the work .= She isn’t old enough to do the work.

②too…to…和so ……that……转换时，that 后面的句子要用否定句。

She is too young to do the work. = She is so young that she can’t do the work.

5.too还有太的意思

too many /much ____________ much too _______________

当too后面跟happy, glad, sad等表示感情的单词时too…to…表示肯定意义。He is too sad to hear the bad news. 听到这个不好的消息他太悲伤了。
