Popularity of Shanzhai
Shanzhai symbolizes anything that imitates something famous. It is quite popular in China. People can watch online Shanzhai MTV at home and buy a Shanzhai product such as a Shanzhai cell phone in the shop.
People’s opinions vary on Shanzhai culture. The birth of Shanzhai is seen by many to be the result of lack of creativity. They say Shanzhai will do harm to the cultural industry and block cultural creativity. However, some others disagree, arguing that Shanzhai often breaks conventional ideas. It helps liberalize the minds of artists, and a more open cultural atmosphere will draw audiences in bigger numbers back to entertainment venues.
In my view, Shanzhai is an essential form of public entertainment. As Shanzhai is designed to bring fun to people’s lives, it could be allowed to exist as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone or violate any law. However, Shanzhai, violating intellectual property right, must be punished and forbidden.

山寨代表任何模仿一些著名的东西。它在中国很受欢迎。人们可以在网上观看山寨MTV在家乡买一个山寨产品如商店里的山寨手机。

在我看来，山寨是一个重要的公共娱乐形式。作为山寨是为了给人们的生活带来乐趣，它可以允许只要不伤害任何人或违反任何法律的存在。然而，山寨，侵犯他人知识产权的，必须受到惩罚和禁止。
