第二节阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)

阅读下面的短文,并根据短文后的要求答题(请注意问题后的字数要求)。

The NBA has a new rule this season .It?s called “zero tolerance.”NBA referees(裁判)are

not letting players complain too long or too loudly about a ref?s call. A player who does can be given a technical foul(犯规). Two technical fouls and the player is out of the game.

The players don?t like the new rule and want the NBA to change it. They think it?s only natural to get upset during a close ,hard—fought game if a call goes against you.

But I like the “zero—tolerance” rule and wish other sports would follow the NBA?s example. Wouldn?t it be more enjoyable if players stopped arguing the calls and just played the game?

The biggest reason I like the new rule is that it sets a good example for younger athletes. When kids(and coaches and parents)see professionals such as Rasheed Wallace of the Detroit Pistons yelling at the refs and arguing every call ,they think it?s okay to do the same. They think it?s part of the game.

But yelling at refs and arguing calls should never be part of any kid s? games. Kids should be taught to forget about the ref?s calls and concentrate on improving their skills and playing their best .

Secondly ,all athletes need to learn that you control only one thing in a game ,and that?s your own performance .Y ou can?t control what the other players or coaches do . And you certainly can?t control the calls the referees make.

Finally ,everyone, from NBA all—stars to 8—year—olds ,should remember that being a basketball referee is a tough job. The ref has to make dozens of split—second(即时的)calls. No hesitation. No second chances. Not even the best referee gets every call right.

Maybe if the players ,coaches and fans who scream at the referees had to wear a whistle and call a few games, .

86.What is the best title of this passage?(within 10 words)

87.Which sentence in the passage is the closest in meaning to the following one?

Children should ignore the referees? calls and pay more attention to their skills and do their best.

88.Please fill in the blank in the last paragraph with a proper sentence.(within 15 words)

89.Several reasons are mentioned why the author likes the rule. Which do you agree most? Why (within 30 words)

90.Translate the underlined sentence in the third paragraph into Chinese.

Possible version 1:

The China Ministry of Education has declared that all the public schools in China will be forbidden to admit students who resume their studies in any form since 2008. This arouses different opinions about the principle in society.

In my opinion ,I think it is wise for the government to do that .Firstly ,the students who resume their studies have used too many teaching resources. It is a waste to devote extra money ,people and facilities to teaching them after they have already graduated. Secondly ,although many students have achieved good marks in the examination and can be admitted to colleges ,they still refuse to go to college ,dreaming of attending the first—class colleges. As a result ,lots of colleges fail to adopt enough students while many students who get lower marks have no chance to receive education at college .That?s really a shame .Lastly ,one can imagine it?s unfair for us Grade 3students to compete with them.

In a word ,I hope the rule would help deal with these problems.

Possible version 2:

The China Ministry of Education has declared that all the public schools in China will be forbidden to admit students who resume their studies in any form since 2008. This arouses different opinions about the principle in society.

From my point of view ,I don?t quite agree with the rule. Firstly ,as is known to us all ,the public senior high schools can choose us students freely and charge us a lot for studying there .Therefore ,we have every reason to ask them to educate us . In fact ,as citizens ,we have the right to choose where to study .Secondly ,according to the rule ,we have no choice but to go to schools run by non—government sectors. However ,their teaching resources and their management are far from satisfactory .What?s worse ,we students have to pay much more money ,which really has a bad effect on our hard life. Thirdly ,we are willing to bear more pressure and to study harder so as to realize our dreams .That is our own business.

In conclusion ,I don?t think the rule is a good idea.
