Everybody likes taking selfies (自拍照), from your best friend to your
favorite pop star. Selfies are taking over Renren and Sina Weibo. The word
“selfie” was even named Word of the Year by Oxford Dictionaries in 2013.
But why do people feel the need to take them? And are they doing us more
harm than good?
According to Dr. Pamela Rutledge, director of the Media Psychology Research Center in the US, posting a selfie shows a biological need for self-validation (自我验证). Humans have an area in their brain that controls social activity. Receiving positive feedback (反馈) on a selfie you have posted can be the same as someone stopping you in the street and praising your appearance. The act of taking a selfie also puts you in a position of power. You are the director and the subject of your own work of art. It helps people feel in control of their self-image and can be a powerful tool.
Bu t can it go too far? The experts warn that too much time spent on selfies can affect people’s confidence, particularly in teenagers. If you are spending a lot of time choosing the perfect selfie outfit (着装) or finding the right angle (角度), then there could be a problem. Likewise (同样地), posting selfies can harm your personal relationships. UK studies found that many people find it hard to relate to people who are often posting selfies.
So next time you catch your smartphone to take a quick selfie, it may be better to drop it straight back into your pocket.

In some science fiction movies, evil robots refuse to die, no matter how hard
people fight back.
Now science fiction has become science fact. For the first time, scientists have
made a robot that can take a beating and keep on going. Scientists from Cornell
University made the robot, which looks like a spider (蜘蛛) with four legs.
Until now, even the most advanced robot was almost certain to break down when it was broken. That is because its computer inside simply does n’t know how to make the machine work after its shape has changed.
To deal with this problem, the scientists put eight motors (发动机) and two sensors (传感器) that read how the machine is working. They all give signals (信号) to the machine’s software. Using this information, the computer can then work out the machine’s shape at any moment.
The new technology is a big advance in robot-making, scientists say, and it’s far from scary. It may someday help scientists create better man-made (人造的) arms and legs and give new freedom to people who lose them. It might also help scientists understand how people and animals work out their own sense of place in space.
“It has been difficult to design robots that can work well when the environment changes or when it’s damaged,” says Olaf Sporns of Indiana University in the US. “With this work, we are nearer to solving this problem.”

Teachers say the digital(数字的) age has had a good and a not-so-good influence on the American teenagers. More than 2,000 high school teachers took a survey on the Internet.
75 percent of the teachers said the Internet and digital search tools have had a “mostly good” use for their students' research habits and skills. But 87 percent agreed that these technologies "make the students not have enough attention.” And 64 percent said the technologies “do little to help them in courses.”
Judy Buchanan is a director of the National Writing Project. Ms. Buchanan says digital research tools are helping students learn more, and learn faster. Teachers really like these tools, because they are ways to make some of learning very exciting. Young people enjoy using these tools. And the goal is to help them do creative work, and not just that kind of copyist (模仿者，抄写员).
But one problem is that many students don't have a good understanding of how to use the digital knowledge well. In other words, they trust too much of the information. Judy Buchanan says these students have not developed the skills they need to tell whether the information on the Internet is good or bad.
Another problem is something that might not seem like a problem at all, being able to quickly find information from the Internet. Teachers say the ability of their students to work hard to find answers is becoming weaker. They say students depend too much on search engines and do not make enough use of printed books.

技术关键和系统优势 1.扫描识别部分技术关键与系统优势 实现主客观题一体化网上阅卷的技术关键在于识别算法。不同的扫描识别算法识别的机理不同，因而对答题卡的设计、印制上有着各自特殊的要求。例如，有的要求有时标（同步头）、检测线/检测点等定位方式，也有的需要在答题卡模板中加入特殊标记，以便于算法的识别。还有的算法自己提供答题卡设计工具，将答题卡的设计过程信息、定位信息、区域信息等进行格式化，作为识别算法快速准确识别的依据。这样，就产生了对答题卡的设计、印制等过程有着各自不同的要求。如果识别算法对答题卡的设计要求很高，用户就无法自己设计答题卡；如果算法对印刷工艺要求很高，用户也只能找专业的精密印刷企业去印刷，答题卡的设计、印制就会成本很高。 另外，算法识别的速度、精度等也影响了识别算法在网上阅卷系统中的应用。 如果要想把网上阅卷系统引入学校，就必须要让识别算能够识别普通复印纸上印刷的黑白上的涂点信息，同时对印刷工艺的要求不能太高。 全通网上阅卷系统的扫描识别算法是目前诸多识别算法中能识别普通印刷工艺印制的普通纸上涂点的算法之一，可以用办公类软件设计答题卡，把设计答题卡的自主权交给了学校自己。 全通网上阅卷系统可以做到采用普通文档扫描仪、用户可以采用普通复印纸自己设计印制答题卡，极大地降低了网上阅卷系统的建设成本和连续使用成本，使得过去高贵的、只能用在高考等大规模考试的网上阅卷系统真正地走向了平民化，能被学校所接受。

2016年河南省中考英语试题分析 各位领导，各位老师，大家好！很荣幸能有这样一个机会与各位英语教学方面的领导和专家一起交流探讨。接到鄢主任交给的这项任务以后，我真是压力山大。我想鄢主任把这么重大的任务交给我，或许是考虑到我跟在座的很多英语教师一样，近几年一直在从事九年级英语的一线教学，想让我从近几年河南省中招英语命题趋势方面向各位分析汇报一下2016年河南省中考英语试题特点，进而更好地促进17年的毕业班英语教学。下面我就谈谈我个人的一些粗浅的看法，不足之处还请各位领导，各位专家老师批评指正。河南省的中招英语试题，它的命题依据主要是：《英语课程标准》和《考试说明与检测》。而近几年的命题又呈现出以下几种趋势：“重视基础，强调能力，淡化语法，强调语境，突出语篇，注重语用，关注热点，透视实际”。而2016年的中考英语试题进一步体现了这些趋势。试卷准确把握中考考点，较全面地考查了学生对英语基础知识的掌握情况及语言综合应用能力，尽量避免了为考点而机械设题，力求将知识点的考查放在一定的真实语境中，体现了语境设计，语篇设计与生活实际的结合。但是从整个试卷和学生反应来看，试卷难度比往年有所加大，有一定的区分度和选拔功能。从具体的题型来说: 一、听力理解 2016年听力与往年相比，题材和内容方面都没有太大变化。听力部分难易适度，语速适中，内容清晰，要求也恰当，通过对学生调查，大部分学生反应比较容易。得分率也较高。17年备考时候，我们要提醒学生注意听力题型中的一些易错点并加强学生答题策略的培养。如：易错点方面 时间类（日期、钟点），包括直接型和计算型。 数字类（价钱、距离、年龄、数量等），包括直接型和计算型。 地点类包括直接型和含蓄型。 否定类此类对话或含有not, no, neither, nor，little等否定词，或有but, although等转折词，或由would rather,instead, too...to...结构及虚拟语气等表达，因此要特别注意。 人物类包括人物关系、人物身份两类。此类对话提供一个情节，能反映所涉及的人的关系或身份。 答题策略上 1.听力测试前先阅读试题及选项，阅读试题要抓住关键词：what,how,who,when,where…… 2.根据试题及选项进行猜测，以便听时及时捕捉信息。 3.对数字类的应及时用笔记下，以防需要计算。 4.短文理解，要认真观察图片，预测会出现的词汇，听的过程中记录重要信息，提高做题准确率。 二、单项选择题 单选题是对学生进行语法的掌握情况和语境的理解能力方面的考查。“注重基础，突出语境”是今年中考英语单选的一个显著特点。从考点分布上看，以词法考查为主，辅之以句法的考查，同时，强调语境的的理解。具体分布如下：1，对词法的考查
