Where is / are+…

【用法】

当我们想知道某个物品在哪儿时,我们通常用Where is / are+…?句型来提问。

【例句】

Where is my pen?

△where是疑问副词,意思是“在哪里”,其后用一般疑问句句式。

△当询问的物品数量为单数时,其前的be动词应使用is。

—Where is my baseball? 我的棒球在哪儿?

Where’s my baseball? (缩写形式)

因为该物品在问句中提到过,所以回答时用代词it代替该物品。

—It’s in the bag.

(它)在袋子里。

△当所询问的物品为复数时,其前的be动词使用are,因为该物品在问句中提到过,所以回答时用代词they代替

该物品。

注:Where are 不能缩写。

where还可以用于询问某人在哪儿,某个地方在哪儿。

【用法】
