How to study English

●Stage One- Attitudes

1:疯狂的好奇心和挑战困难的勇气

2:汉英注解的字典或者书籍----- 用于提高写作, 口语和英语理解能力

3:联想记忆法: 对于一个生词的多种词类,同义词, 反义词, 增加文采,避免重复.

●Stage Two- Think in English

?建立起用英文思维的方法, 如用英英词典, 和多留意与中文词汇非完全对应的词汇.

●Stage Three- How to improve oral English

?How much is my vocabulary? (Critical to successful Oral English)

?Prepare a note-book to record new words, review it at least every week.

?Categorizing English words (Catering, Sports, Politic, Financing, etc.)

?Practice with good English speaker as often as possible (differences between “how to swim” and actually “jump into the water”) vocabulary, sentence and grammar ?Simulating, and improve accent, modify pronunciation.

?Writing really improves Oral English. The words and sentences written by hand are not so easier to forget than just say them.

●Stage Four- How to improve Listening

Intensive Listening:

?Be very very very very patient and be v ery very very very specific to every word.

?Dictation: one sentence, pauses, and then move on. After that look at the Chinese to check that if correct.

Extensive Listening:

?Good Quality Movies: Again and again with English subtitles Forrest Gump;

Desperate Housewives, West Wings; Friends; Apprentices; Survivors.
