行销英语20招

1. 如何招揽顾客

一般程序:招呼—问候—寻找相关话题—理出商谈头绪。所以,打招呼很重要,无论顾客有没有表现购买意愿,您都应该上前问候一句:“What can I do for you?”或“May I help you?”,也可说:“Can I be of any assistance?”,如果是熟客,可简单说声:“Good afternoon, madam, something for you?”

2. 如何打开话题

如果顾客不置可否或表现出不耐烦的样子,决不可轻言放弃,可以先说:“Everybody is welcome here, madam. Whether she buys or not.(这里欢迎任何人光临,买不买都没关系)”,然后婉转地问:“Are you looking for someth ing?”。

3. 如何拉近距离

首先表达自己身份,甚至可以交换名片,然后说些常用客套话,为后来的推销铺路。一句:“Would you mind my recommending?”十分有用。

4. 如何游说购买

初次见面就开门见山、滔滔不绝的做法已经落伍。当你要说服顾客时,最好用“Well, let me tell you why.”作为解释商品用途、优点的开场白。

5. 如何展示商品

可以说:“Please take a look at this.”或“That one, madam?(那个好吗?)”配合产品加以说明时,则用“As you can see, ~(正如您所见,~)”

6. 如何拖延时间

争取时间以便长期抗战要有技巧,再心急也要说“Please take your time”(慢慢看/参观)或“Go right ahead, please.”(随便参观)。根据情况也可通过闲聊进入主题,让顾客有一定时间考虑。

7. 如何选取工具

广告信函、海报、优待卷等都是销售的有效辅助工具,所谓“百闻不如一见”,一边看商品,一边听解释,才更易进入状况。所以“I'll send you our D.M.”(我会寄给您产品的广告信函)很有说服力。

8. 如何利用店铺开张

店铺开张和周年庆典都是很好的宣传机会,销售重点在于“宣传”(因为本店新开张),因此给予优惠,或进一步说明“If you would kindly recommend our establishment to your friends, the favor will be greatly appreciated”(如果您将本店介绍给您朋友,本店将十分感激)

9. 如何劝客户抓紧购买

店铺出清存货时是购买价廉物美的货物的好时机,您可以说“I understand there's not much left over”(存货不多)10. 如何接受电话预定

除非是熟客,双方足够信任,否则,餐馆、旅店通常的电话应对方式是“What time can we expect you ?”(您几点来?) 11. 如何给客人菜单

Focus: time management and current problems facing a service company

1. Management themes

Read the following text and then discuss the questions below.

Time management has become one of the key issues of the second half of the twentieth century. Managers, grappling with work pressures and deadlines, have come to recognise that time is a precious commodity to be

'saved', 'gained', and not 'wasted' or 'lost'. But if time is a commodity, how then can we best describe, measure and manage it?

To describe and manage it, imagine a line that goes back to the beginnings of creation and continues into the mists of the future. And on that line are a number of significant marks-these separate the past from the present from the future. And within each time zone-past, present and future-we can differentiate periods of time from points of time. For example, the 1980s gave us a period of rapid economic growth; black Monday was a point of sudden financial catastrophe.

How can this brief analysis help the international manager? Firstly, there is the link between past, present and future. In other words, historical performance should be a guide to the future, and the present ought to represent last year's forecast. So change-that which normally differentiates any two periods on our continuum-can be seen as a gradual evolution rather than a dramatic revolution.

Secondly, the use of a time-planning system, on which key points and periods are plotted, enables managers to

organise their activities so that bottlenecks can be avoided and deadlines can be met. So stress, where the jobs to be done exceed the available time, can be reduced to an acceptable and productive level.

You are going to hear an extract from a meeting between Anna. Brian and Pete, the three partners of Softs ys, a small company supplying business software. The company was established two years ago and after a period of rapid growth is trying to consolidate its market position.

As you listen, make notes of the tasks that are agreed and note the partner who is going to do the task.

P: I think we all feel that things are getting a little out of control. We're pushing ourselves almost to breaking point and I'm worried that something's going to snap unless we take control of the situation.

B: Exactly. We have to start managing the business-rather than letting it manage us. So what can we do about it? A: Well, the first thing we can do is to start planning. I mean up to now we have done everything by intuition, but I'd like to know where we plan to be five years from now.

B: That's good-a long-term plan. OK, Pete, are you prepared to start working on it?

P: I can make some notes and circulate them. Then we can discuss them.

A: Good.

P: Fine.

A: Now what about roles? I mean I know that we each have got our own specialist functions within the organisation and that we also function pretty well as a team, but perhaps we need a leader.

P: You mean like a managing director?

B: Yes, but I thought our philosophy was to keep a flat manag ement structure.

A: Yes, I accept that we don't want to create a hierarchy, but I still think that it can help us if we choose a managing partner who has overall control.

P: Yes, I really don't think that will harm the relationship between us and I agree t hat it can help us to run the company more efficiently.

B: Well, I am not totally convinced, but I'm willing to be persuaded. As you two are keen on the idea, why don't you prepare a paper about what the management structure would be and the functions of t he managing partner?

A: Well, I'd like to have a go at that. I'll prepare some notes and circulate them. Then we can discuss them at our next meeting. If that's OK with you, Brian?

P: Yeah, fine by me.

B: Well, we've talked about planning and managing. Now, what about improving the organisation? I think we need to look at how we can organise ourselves better.

A: Well, having a managing partner should help.

B: Of course, but we need to look at our own roles, too.

P: To identify areas of responsibility?

B: Yes, first the areas where each of us has the main responsibility and then the areas where we are involved, but not primarily responsible. Take purchasing, for example. We need to buy in goods-everything from machines down to plugs. We buy in machines when a customer has placed an order and then we check cashflow and consult the others. But we buy the smaller items without any consultation.

A: Oh, come on, we always discuss major purchases and the minor ones are made when we need to. We can't consult with each other for every bit of cable we buy.

B: I know we can't. But that's exactly why we need one person with responsibility for authorising purchases. Then we can consistently check where we can get the best value for money by putting one person in charge. And that person can reconcile the purchases made against the invoices that come in. It's simply a matter of streamlining the

system-which must be in everyone's interest.

A: So, what do you suggest?

B: Well, I think we should each make a list of the major functions within the organisation. We've talked about purchasing. Then there's sales and after-sales service...

P: ... and finance.

B: Yes, and installation. Well, I'd like to see one person with primary responsibility for each area, just as we said for purchasing. And the others may have secondary responsibility for that area. So, I propose that I draw up a list of the primary areas or activities that we need to carry out, and then at the next meeting we decide who will have the primary responsibility for each. I'm sure it'll streamline our business.

A: So, where does that leave us?

P: With some homework to do and some key issues to discuss at our next meeting. By the way, when are we meeting?

Process Report 1——Analysis of the Business The current state of the business University Books, a privately owned, on-campus bookshop at the University of International Business, manly carries textbook, reference books, and various bestsellers for students, instructors and staff, and local residents. It is located next to the largest cafeteria, the center of the campus, and attracts a large number of customers. However, the bookshop only occupies an area of 50 square meters, in which two thirds is the shopping area and one third the storage room. This is hindering the shop from expanding its services. The management planned to offer a wider range of services, but the tight space has constrained such plans. It is time to expand the bookshop before it is too late. Current business analysis The main business of the bookshop now is selling teaching-related books covering management, finance, accounting, economics, international trade, law, computer science, foreign language, etc. It also carries books for entertainment and about current issues. It usually has a stock of 20,000 books, which increases when a semester starts and decreases by the end of an academic year. The textbooks assigned by instructors, dictionaries, books on various examinations, and those on current issues—China’s accession to the WTO, the terrorist attacks on the United States, fashion trends, or stock market analyses—always enjoy a high turnover rate. The shop also takes orders from the customers who cannot find the books they need in the shop. Financial performance The financial performance has improved a great deal since the bookshop opened. The revenue in 2000, at 80,000 yuan, increased by 20% over the 1999 level of 66,000 yuan. Profits rose by 30%, while costs declined by 10%, thanks to the effective cost-cutting measures initiated at the beginning of 2000. The inventory turnover ratio has reached ten times and the profit margin on sales six percent, well above the average of eight times and five percent respectively. The shop was granted a loan of 100,000 yuan for starting the business. As of October 30, 2001, half of the loan has been paid back, one year ahead of the schedule due to the increased enrollment during the past two years. The shop will have paid off the debt by the end of 2002 based on the current case flow.

(二)商务信函的书写 在国际商务买卖的过程主要分为询盘、发盘、还盘、接受四个环节,其过程中最重要的便是商务信函的书写,我们这次实训中主要对发盘的过程进行了练习。在老师的帮助下对发盘的发虚盘、发实盘的信函实例进行分析与解读和翻译,并对一些内容进行书写练习,使我们掌握了英文信函的书写方式、提升了书写技巧。 (三)商务谈判 在看完有关商务谈判的视频后,在老师的指导下,我们根据视频中的谈判,对其谈判的案例进行分析。全面了解了谈判的类型、谈判时的重要因素、谈判时注意的问题及谈判时的信息搜索。谈判对于商务进行是不可缺少的部分,充分了解谈判的过程和技巧便更一步的促进了合作关系的达成。 (四)进出口贸易信函的分析和书写 根据多篇的进出口贸易信函的阅读及分析。对信函的英汉互译,这不仅对我们英语知识的提高,而且认识了进出口贸易信函书写的方式,在我们多次的练习中提升了写作技巧,更为以后的工作节约了时间。 (五)商务报告 搜索最近发生的经济事件,对事件进行分析与总结,并详写了我们自己的观点。让我们看事件来分析问题,曾进的不只是我们的观点,更是我们对问题分析的能力。最后我们的这项实训任务,用英文的格式练习书写了我们自己的简历,及招聘广告的书信。现在的社会大发展,英文已离不开我们的生活,这样的实训巩固的是我们的课程,也为我们以后的工作提供了极大的方便。 四、实训总结:实训是走向社会起到了一个桥梁的作用,过渡的作用,也对将来走上工作岗位也有着很大帮助。在短暂两周的实训过程中, 既有收获也有遗憾。通过这次实习,加深了我对商务英语的基本知识的理解,丰富了实际操作知识,认识到要学好商务英语既要注重理论知识的学习,更重要
