I'm very happy here,to be here, tonight,on the Manu's night, I'm so happy for you, well deserved, well deserved.

Before i start though,i want to set the record with Argentina, because,as to Argentina media,Argentina, because you know we have a rough beginning where Manu and i first started my career, whole Argentina was mad at me because they think i dont pass the ball to Manu, that i never pass the ball to Manu. I can never really understand that because Pop made the plays,he called the plays. And its not my fault he called all the plays for Timmy, and Timmy took all the shots. I'm just a point guard, especially my first two years, but i think we did really good, win the best trio in the NBA history, playoff wins, so 132wins i think we did ok. So,i just wanna tell Argentina, i still love you, but thank god, Pop made you come off the bench so get you mad at pop so then i was good, then i was good.

So its 3things i want to tell you Manu, first time i saw you play,i was 18years old, and when i think about you, its how unique you were as a player, there's no other word i can find an describe you, you just was unique, nobody is like you in the whole history of the game, you were so unique, that even Pop didn't know what to do with you the first two years. It was priceless to see Pop's face when Manu made a pass, cuz with Manu is two pass, you have a legend pass that everybody would talk about of what a unbelievable pass, and the stands to the fan's pass. And at the begining of my

Manu's career, it was a lot of pass going to the stands, the last. A lot of pass like that. And Pop was look at me like,'Tony, what the play?', I'm going like 'nobody can control Manu, Manu is going to be Manu'. Is there no control in Manu? Pop, Is there no control in Manu? So , Pop figured out , when let Manu be Manu, And he just had unbelievable year after unbelievable year. My favourite year of Manu was 2005,2005 you were flying with your hair, and everything. You got no more hair now but you had hair back in the day that was my favourite.

Second thing comes in mind, how competitive you are, i would not be the player i became without you be my teammate, you were such an inspiration to me everyday, and you were help me become a better player just playing with you, and just the passion you had every night.

Last thing i wanna say is unselfish,Sean say a little bit, cuz Sean was talking too much stole my stuff. But its true though, Manu is so unselfish. To think about it, how many superstar will come off the bench and dont say anything. There is not a lot superstars maybe no superstars can accept that. And he was so humble, so humble. He was an inspiration to all of us, and to me, he was the definition of spurs basketball, because you always put this ego last.

So to finish,in my book, you are legend, NBA champion,Europe league, gold medal,so thank you for your friendship, thank you for inspiring me, and it was an honor to play with you, love you, man.

Thank you, welcome, and i gonna get through this, i know i am. Emm,i'm, uh, i'm certain not get through this. Tony ,if i start to stumble, slap me, say,'Pop,come on'.

Well ,when Manu first came into all of our lives, i can still remember that first year, and during summer tell Timmy we got this guy coming, and you know, RC and his guys did such a great job find this young kid, who is fearless, a little bit of wild on the court, but tenacious, tough, and i was tell, 'Timmy, this guy can play, he's good ,you are gonna really like it'. Timmy was like,'yeah, yeah,Pop,okay, fine, you know, i heard that before'. Then Manu came, but he had a bad ankle, he could'nt really do much, and so, he was like a half player, finally we decided we are gonna set him down, we are not play him until January. And then he was healthy all the way. And i was guess what's we brought him back in January, it took Timmy about a week, then he said,'OMG, who is this kid?' and he figured it out ,very quickly, very quickly.

I, uh, and i had the honor to coach him, but bufore i go on, there is another guy here who coach him, that's one of my assist coaches, from Italy, Ettore Messina, Are you over there, Ettore? I don't know if without lights can find him, but, Manu played in Bologna for Ettore Messina and won his first Europe league championship, and that's, uh, important. And where we at it, since we talk about Ettore, the members of 2004 Argentinean Olympic team who won the gold metal. Some of like 5 or 6 those guys are here beside, and Manu, they should be recognized, because that's, that's one of the best basketball teams i never seen play in my entire life. A fantastic group of guys, that's for true. And i saw it personlly cuz i was the assistant coach for the America team, and it hurt a lot, but i was never happier for anybody than for Manu that night. So then i coach him here, and believe it or not, my hair was dark dark brown, but it didn't just get like this, it got like this, by the second year coach him that was dead white , long time ago, it was white, without any doubt, i remember. I look at pictures like who is that guy, who is that guy. Now i got look at this everyday. But as i win, i became a better coach, because l learned to zip it now and then. Cuz you watch him play, all of a sudden, he would make a steal to win the game, or get our an offence rebound, or shoot a 3, and that was toally contested XXX and it were go in because he's a winner.

So i had to learn to stop going to say, 'Manu, Jesus, do we need that, why?' 'ah,i'm Manu, this is what i do'. That what he would tell me, over and over. And then i look over Tim and Tony, they were just shrug their shoulders, and we all just move on.

The way the team were set up, we are needed each other. And without Manu, there will no championship. there will no championship. That's will not gonna happen without Manu. As Tony said, his ferocity, his drive, his unbelieveable will to win, his competitive , but i can tell you this, you know ,honesty, he's a good competitor as he was, and how much he give up himself, he love it, he love the game, he love the competition, that was all about winning. But that was that, what he cares about more and what drives his life are those four people right there. That's what his heart is. And that's what make him so special, both on and off the court. He understands priorities, he was one of the greatest teammates anybody could ever have. As were state of his couristy, he comes in and he wants to talk about politics, he wants to talk about religion, about black hole and space, everything. And that's not an exaggeration. A special special guy.

The last thing i wanna say, it has been said, but it possiblely the most important thing that we did in our franchise over this whole spend is when Manu Ginobili agree grudgingly to come off the bench. It sounds like a small thing, but it made us so much deeper, so much more powerful and dangerous. And i can tell you, he didn't like it, he didn't like me ,he didn't want to do it until he thoutht about it. Lucky for me and out team, he's highly intelligent and understood the big picture and what we mean and he did it. So he is gonna go in the Hall of Fame come off the bench.

Manu, i love you.

Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,so, how, how, how do i follow that?I have like a 30minutes speech in my pocket here, i was ready, and they covered all my points, everything. Sean most of it, he got like 20,25 minutes of it.

I'll tell you this one story and quick end and i got off here. The all reason i'm here

is you. I got that call from Pop, every year i watch the draft, i sat at home, i tell everybody all i not gonna watch the draft, i not gonna do this. I sat at home and watch the draft, and we picked people that i never heard of, sitting there, Emanuel Ginóbili. Who did we just pick? Oh, yeah, he's gonna be great, he's okay, yeah, whatever, yeah, okay, whatever.

He shows up 2years later, and i actually didn't remember him being hurt, i remember him showing up in the gym, and we are playing pick-up in the summer time, and there's a man sit overthere somewhere, that tick it real personally Bruce Bowen, he could means to wear him out, every Bruce Bowen tricky, everything, you held, you grabbed, you pushed, not gonna saying you ever really did that, i mean that day you might have. Manu didn't XXX an eye, he didn't change his game, he didn't cry about it. He just went Straight ahead,XXX on playing, that's when i know we have somebody.

And for the next, year after year after year, i was inpressed in every aspect. You are so much fun to play with, you are the most fun to sit there, sit back on that bench, and watch Pop walk over, sit down his chair, and complained himself about what he was doing. It was all genius, it was all genius, you saw things before anybody else did, you did things nobody else would. You are unbelieveable and it's honor to be here and congratulations.

I made TD wear a jacket and talk in front of you, man, that's an accomplishment. TD talk you for what? Six minutes? Five? That's an amazing accomplishment. Nothing i can do better than that.

Now seriously, um, i stand here and i try to prepare a script or something a speech, and i start to thinking what am i doing here? what am i doing in front of you guys? In front all of you guys, this what not suppose to happend to me. I had no expections whatsoever going up, to be even close to be here, i said in the video.

When i start to be XXX i thought, you know, maybe have a successful career in Europe? Do good over there? Maybe win something within national team, who knows? And then, all of a sudden i wake up, and i here, and i here with these legends. Got to say about me what the other guys that talked before, people that i got admire, i respect, i love, what i have to say, all this is just overwhelming, compeletly leaves you like mind bloom, so, im so thankful, i'd like to go shake each one of you attends, give you a hug, i'm just beyond beyong appreciative.

I also want acknowledge, you know, i made it here was a long ride from going up in Argentina. I got very lucky, i've been lucky in my whole life. I got few examples that i was raised in a family with two very present, supportive parents, they are somewhere there, that allowed, allowed me and my brother to follow our dreams, to follow our passion on basketball. And provided us for everything we needed to do that.

I was born in the city that leave basketball in a very speical way, and XXX and fed

my hunger for this sport, for my craziness of basketball, and i was, you know, i lucky too, i didn't choose to be born there, i didn't choose to be born in that family.

And i was crazy when i was twenty, at twenty i was, you know, playing in Argentina, and i happen to meet this funny, smart, generous, young beautiful lady, that, the crazy thing is she happen to like me back. You should have to see me at twenty, and she like me back. And she choose to come with me all this ride, and i was XXX.

Coulpe years later, we talking about the draft, that draft night, i didn't know what's happening. I said before i was in the middle of Amaon with there guys here and many of them are there around. We were just preparing for a tournament and all of a sudden i got the call that i was drafted by NBA champion. I thought,' what? no, that can't be possibe, that can't be possibe'. 'No,no, it is true, look.' And i saw that, it was 57 i was chosen , i was last 3. But you know what, that made me change my goal though. XXX, i knew, it depended on me now, if i got good enough, i was gonna be noticed, and maybe i got that phonecall one day. And you know, after years later, i got better and the phonecall arrived, and it ended up here, that's another lucky break. So, i tell you, i meant i'm one of the lucky ones who had been deal amazing amzing cards, i just had play them okay, that's all i had to do.

You guys know this is team sport, nothing can be accomplished individually this world. I wanna be appreciative, i wanna be thankful, i have been try to talk to myself, it's okay, relax, not that important, just be funny, be happy. But you know, i didn't have a chance to talk to people show my appreciation. So, with better opportunity to do it now. And i might get a little more emtional? it's a emotional day. But i want make you understand, that i'm not XXX at all. I'm followed up with my decision, of having the time i have the decision i made to have the opportunity to be those four so much more time. I wanna make sure that you understand that i not sad at all and XXX, i'm very happy where i am.

So, when i start thinking, you know, without sending like a XXX, but first of you, all of you, first, i mean, becasue as i said in video, i came to San antonio without knowing anything about this city, i carry on full of doubts and uncertainties, without knowing what is gonna be to play for that guy, to play with that guy,to play with David Robinson, you know, anything. XXXyou guys going nuts, and you guys shout my name, you know, you guys have my back, you guys want me here. So, that were plenty forever thankful, so, thank you very much.

Secondly, and i'm going change language for a second because this is to my family and friends from Argentina.

###西语

The whole spurs organisation, and i'm not saying these guys here that they all wants to see, but i'm telling you when we talk about this first time on the spurs organisation and how much they care, and tell you there's a whole bunch of guys that you guys are never gonna hear about. And there's buster XXX to make us feel like at home, supported, appreciated, well taking care of, and that's very important. And i can mention trainers, strength coaches, video guys, people here in the arena that take care of my family as they were theirs, doctors, physios, everybody, it was always so much fun to come to arena, to talk about whatever, just have fun, make it familiar, make it funny, make it interesting. So forever thankful their too.

Coaches and players from, you know, when i was 7 till a few month ago, teammates of which i had 250plus, and yes, i count them, i had so many quality around always and then i think make feel so lucky. And from most of them, i learned a lot of experiences, and you know, to all of you, thank you for being real teamates, coaches, teaching so much. There was so many it's hard to mention them all, but all of those, i wanna, i have to , choose two very important groups in my life. Two groups of which i shared with many of them what 15years of my life.

One of them are some where they are that all my teamates and friends from national team. And i gonna change to Spanish if you allow me.

###西语

And the second group will be the one that you know better, the Spurs teamates. I tip it again and again i didn't mention them before in the lucky part but gosh, getting here and haveing guys like these, Tim and Tony, i mean thousands of games together? How XXX is to be able to just tell you everything i need to tell you with a look, or just Tony raising my eyerolls and knowing i'm gonna go backdoor. And when i had to tell you something when i never tell you something, we was very special, and i was always been proud and honor. So, thank you.

Three other guys over there, Patty,Bobo and Tiego, you guys XXX this 40 grams young for many years, when they were start to got tough, to got on load, to leave my kids, at home, my wife, you guys help agaist it and seeing a fun, i love you guys, and i mean that. You and Bobo whereever you are and Tiego at home. I mean of course i gonna miss many, but here we have a few, fin, bruce, Sean, David, Branch, so hard to mention them all, so many quality guys that i live with be here 16years, that the late dinners, the conversations, so much fun learning from thats. About so many things losing together, winning together, it was truely amazing.

Pop, you are a sensitive, generous, caring, smart madman. You are a crazy person but you means to much to me, Pop,yet you would didn't know. I really appreciate all you done for me and my family. And again i learn so much on basketball, you know, basketball is gone, so who cares. What i learn from you is more important than that, and i always be thankful.

I thought a couple of people will gonna be near here but i don't know where they are, papa, mama###西语

I twitterred a few month ago when i announced my retirement. That is ,uh, it has bee an amazing journey somthing like that way beyond my dreams. I telling you, completely it's true, thank you all seriously all here and all watching for being with me all along. I really appreciate it,i love you.

If there is no money, I can’t use this microphone to speak to you and we can’t have such a room to hold such a competition. Without money, we can’t study in such a schoolyard. Without money, we can’t live in such a hometown. Without money, we can’t have such a motherland. On the other hand, If there is no money, you don’t need to bear my speech about money now. Most of us have dreams about the future, dreams of having a good job and making much money. Surely someone has thought at times “If only I had a lot of money, I could be the happiest person in the world.” In fact it’s the main mistake that people make about money. However, is money the road to happiness? Not really! Many people work every day, work overtime, work weekends to make a lot of money. Are they happy? No. They are too busy making money.

this is the text of earl spencers tribute to his sister at her funeral. there is some very deep, powerful and heartfelt sentiment. would that those at whom it is aimed would take heed. the versions posted on several news services had minor errors. this is precisely as it was deliverd. i stand before you today the representative of a family in grief, in a country in mourning before a world in shock. we are all united not only in our desire to pay our respects to diana but rather in our need to do so. for such was her extraordinary appeal that the tens of millions of people taking part in this service all over the world via television and radio who never actually met her, feel that they, too, lost someone close to them in the early hours of sunday morning. it is a more remarkable tribute to diana than i can ever hope to offer her today. today is our chance to say thank you for the way you brightened our lives, even though god granted you but half a life. we will all feel cheated, always, that you were taken from us so young and yet we must learn to be grateful that you came along at all. only now you are gone do we truly appreciate what we are now without and we want you to know that life without you is very, very difficult. we have all despaired at our loss over the past week and only the strength of the message you gave us through your years of giving has afforded us the strength to move forward. there is a temptation to rush to canonize your memory. there is no need to do so. you stand tall enough as a human being of unique qualities not to need to be seen as a saint. indeed to sanctify your memory would be to miss out on the very core of your being, your wonderfully mischievous sense of humor with the laugh that bent you double, your joy for life transmitted wherever you took your smile, and the sparkle in those unforgettable eyes, your boundless energy which you could barely contain. but your greatest gift was your intuition, and it was a gift you used wisely. this is what underpinned all your wonderful attributes. and if we look to analyze what it was about you that had such a wide appeal, we find it in your instinctive feel for what was really important in all our lives. without your god-given sensitivity, we would be immersed in greater ignorance at the anguish of aids and hiv sufferers, the plight of the homeless, the isolation of lepers, the random destruction of land mines. diana explained to me once that it was her innermost feelings of suffering that made it possible for her to connect with her constituency of the rejected. the world sensed this part of her character and cherished her for her
