We spent a day in the country and picked a lot of flowers. Our car was full of flowers inside! On the way home we had to stop at traffic lights, and there my wife saw the bookshelf.

It stood outside a furniture（家具）shop. “Buy it,” she said at once. “We’ll carry it home on the roof-rack （车顶架）. I’ve always wanted one like that.”

What could I do? Ten minutes later I was twenty dollars poorer, and the bookshelf was tied on to the roof rack. It was tall and narrow, quite heavy too.

Healthy Habits

A habit is something we do evry often. We do not think when we are doing it. We can have good habits or bad habits. Early to rise, makes a man healthy, weathy and wise. This is an old English saying. Have you heard it before? It means that we must go to bed early and get up early in the morning. If we do, we shall be healthy. We shall be rich and clever.

Is this true? Perhaps it is. The body must have enough sleep. Children of your age need ten hours’sleep every night. If you do not to to bed early, you cannot have enough sleep. Then you cannot think properly and you cannot do you work properly. You will not be wise and you may not become wealthy!

Some people go to bed late at night and get up late in the morning. This is not good for them. We must sleep at night when it is dark. The dark helps us to sleep properly. When the daylight comes, we must get up. This is the time for exercises. Exercises means doing things with the body. Walking, running, jumping, swimming, playing games are all exercises. If the body is not used, it becomes weak. Exercises keeps it strong. Exercises helps the blood to move around inside the body. This is very important. Blood takes food to all parts of our bodies. The brains in our heads also need blood. We think with our brains. If we keep our bodies healthy, and take exercises, we can think better !

中考英语综合填空题的答题技巧做这类试题除了具备能正确拼写所学单词，具有一定的语法基础知识，掌握一定的阅读方法外，若具备一定的解题方法或技巧，做起题来往往会更加得心应手。 (一)、弄清文章大意要跳过空格，浏览全文，理解文章的大意，特别要注意读懂文章的第一句，这一句通常不设空格，它对我们理解文章的主旨起着非常重要的作用。在理解文章的主旨大意之后才开始做题。 (二)、作好句法分析通过句法分析弄清楚要填的词是在句中充当主语、谓语还是宾语等。如果是主语或宾语，要填的应当是名词或代词;如果是谓语，要填的就应是动词;如果是在名词前作定语或者在系动词后作表语，要填的应当是形容词;如像We ______busy.
