谈英语课外实践活动与校园文化建设-教育论文 谈英语课外实践活动与校园文化建设 文/江晓东 摘要：本文阐述了重庆三峡医药高等专科学校多年实施英语课外实践活动的情况，梳理了利用英语课外实践活动建设校园文化的相关内容，总结和回顾了实施英语课外实践教学活动以来的相关成果。 关键词：英语实践活动校园文化 课题：重庆市高等教育教学改革研究项目“高职护理英语情景会话教学研究与实践”(项目编号：143172)研究成果。 一、利用英语课外实践活动建设校园文化的背景 对我校部分班级护理学生和医学生的课堂英语学习情况调查表明，很多学生学习英语缺乏强烈的欲望，没有意识到英语学习作为文化水平和文化修养提升途径的意义。英语作为一种语言工具，不仅有深厚的文化内涵，也是文化的组成部分。笔者学校十年前由两所中专学校合并而成。随着学校升格，学生文化素质亟待从中专生水平提升到大学生水平；同时，由于学校开始普通专科招生以后在校学生逐年增加，英语课堂教学中对学生个别教育难度加大，需要发掘和利用不同渠道对学生因材施教。英语教师也逐渐转变教育观念，淡化在职业教育中的过强的英语教学学科意识，努力通过英语教学促成专业人才培养和提高学生综合职业素养。 二、利用英语课外实践活动建设校园文化的相关内容 1.定期开展竞赛活动 十年来，英语教研室通过开展英文阅读、演讲、写作、手抄报制作、情景剧表
演、歌曲演唱等活动提升英语学习气氛和校园文化氛围。例如利用“My Chinese Dream”“When Confucius Meets Socrates”“What is Global Citizenship”等各种演讲题目启发和引导学生积极思考人生、关注社会；利用“医学和生活”为主题的英文手抄报制作和医院情景短剧表演，提高学生职业意识和职场英语表达能力。根据不完全统计，十年以来总共开展各级各类英语教学活动四十多次，学生直接参与人次3000以上；每年参加观摩演讲比赛、戏剧表演、歌曲演唱等活动的学生均在1200人次以上。 2.提供各种选修课程 英语教研室向学生提供英语口语、英美文化、英语国家概况、医护英语情景会话等选修课程，满足了学生不同形式的学习需求。选修课程的开设要求比照常规教学要求，教师上课有授课计划、教案和课件，学生上课有考勤，有参与，有反馈。英语课外选修课程明显地改善了常规英语课堂班级人数过多，师生互动很少的局面，学生的因材施教和个性发展得到了补充。 3.开设各种专家讲座 十年来，多次邀请校内外专家和外籍教师进行各种讲座，涵盖学习方法、多元文化介绍、国外医护职业介绍、英语测试、英美文学、英文电影和歌曲赏析、护士出国考试等内容。讲座题材多样、形式灵活，深受学生欢迎。 4.进行各种拓展培训 为了提高学生职业素养，公共基础部和职业培训部在近年连续开展公共英语和医护英语提升培训，总计近千名学生参加培训。英语教师完成500多学时的培训教学。有的学生由于公共英语能力提升通过了专升本英语考试进入本科院校深造，有的学生通过医护英语的提升进入了涉外医疗机构就业。拓展英语培训对学
