英语作文是小学英语学习和考试中的重要内容之一，而如何提高小学英语作文的写作水平和迅速掌握英语作文的写作方法也成了老师、家长和孩子所共同关注的一个大问题。
其实所谓小学高年级英语作文写作就是让学生围绕一个主题自觉运用所学的单词、句型写一篇短小的习作，考察锻炼孩子能否正确使用英语中的一些固定表达方式和灵活运用所学的一些句型和词汇，提高其从口头表达向书面表达转化的能力。那究竟怎么做才能提高孩子的英语写作水平呢？
一、培养和激发学生的写作兴趣
兴趣是最好的老师，要提高小学生的英语写作水平，首先要培养和激发他们的写作兴趣。
1、为孩子提供展示作品的机会。每个孩子都有表现自己的欲望，在英语作文训练中，如果老师和家长能为孩子们提供一个“show”出其作品的机会，他们的写作兴趣和动力就会大大提高。例如，家长可以每天在睡前或其他适当时间与孩子共同分享他们所写的作文并适当给予鼓励，从而激发他们再接再厉，努力写出更加出色的文章。
2、不要让写作文成为孩子的一个负担。在写作时用最简单的英语语言描述最熟悉的生活，学生们会逐渐感到英语写作其实是一件很简单又很实用的事情，慢慢喜欢上英语写作。
二、运用写作策略充分利用英语教材
1、积累知识，扩大词汇量。大量阅读英语课外读物，并且充分利用小学生爱展示、爱表演的特点，首先让学生背诵教材中的小对话或小短文，然后鼓励孩子们在舞台上将背诵的内容表演出来。学生们通过扮演书中的角色和切身表演，既巩固了所学的词汇和语法，锻炼了语感，又活跃了学习气氛，带动了学习积极性。
2、多读多记，培养语感。家长要打破常规思维模式，将作文训练渗透在日常生活和教学活动中。当教授新词汇或词组时，鼓励孩子用这些词组自行造句。孩子通过练习能加深对词语或词组的运用，在写作文时也会不自觉地拿来运用。只有说得多了，才能增强语感，进而提高写作能力.
总之，小学生英语写作能力的提高必须经过一个持续、有效的训练过程，它需要家长有计划地进行组织、训练并正确引导。
其实问题可以更直接一些，考试之前是不是应该背范文。我相信这才是家长们真正关心的问题所在。
首先要说这个问题很好。相信很多作文不太好，但又比较在意分数的家长也关心这个问题。一方面如果不多看范文背范文，分数就可能不如那些背了范文的同学；另一方面，背范文又不是长久之计，总不能次次都背，而且未来作文可不是背范文就能轻松解决的，再因此影响孩子学习的自主性与思考能力，岂不是得不偿失。
那到底该怎么办呢？
首先，背范文这种行为我是坚决反对的。可是多看范文也要分怎么看，看多了背了下来不是好结果。而是看多了，明白了好作文是什么样子，好作文是如何谋篇布局，如何组织语言，如何突出中心，如何选择材料，这些都是我们应该对待范文的态度。
也就是说，我们不要背范文，而要像疱丁解牛一样，研究范文。
说到这，我其实特别想推荐一本书，《我的第一本思维导图作文书》。这本书里选择的都是一些名家名篇，可以说是范文中的范文了。另外，作者对每一篇名篇都画出了思维导图，进行了研究与分
析，对其中作者的意图，文章的思想，以及语言的特色都有进行分析。这样一本书，是会帮助学生对作文进行研究的。
其次，那是不是也完全不能背呢？也不是绝对的。我的态度是要适当地背诵一些名篇，比如朱自清的《春》《荷塘月色》，冰心的《小桔灯》。比如《朗读者》节目里嘉宾们所朗读的一篇短文，都是可以背诵的。
至于怎么提高语文成绩，说来就话长了。但从阅读的角度讲，就是要多读高质量的文章和书，多背诵唐诗宋词名篇，多诵读《古文观止》里经典古文。将自己的阅读档次提高，语文成绩中的阅读与写作部分才能有一个好基础。自身的语文素养也自然是水涨船高。
不只是抄袭，更是习惯“不说人话”
前段时间翻看过一本校园作文选，很是感慨。大多数文章都显得异常拙劣，之所以用“拙劣”二字，是因为它们“两头不到岸”，一方面没有孩子的天性和想象力，而是异常死板，一看就知道是大人修改甚至操刀，但另一方面，它又欠缺文字的美感，展示着父母们在文字上的低素养。我甚至得出这样一个结论：这世界上不会有比不具备基本文字素养的父母写出的小学生作文更恶劣的文字了。
上海小学生作文赛查出数十篇抄袭，本属寻常，因为在我们熟悉的教育环境里，这种情况甚至是被变相鼓励的。我们有数不清的范文，范文有着标准的套路，你学会了，就有高分。
更大的问题在于，抄袭的作文同样难看，就像我们熟悉的那些范文一样，最大问题就是“不说人话”。
我们已经习惯了“作文=不说人话”的套路，从小学到中学，我们所强调的作文，往往就是中心思想先行，辅以过度抒情或者假大空式的说理，如果是记事，也要用上大量的修辞。即使是一二年级的小学生，也变着方法用各种比喻，但这些比喻又往往不是童心的浑然天成，而是家长的低劣手法。
“不说人话”之所以成为作文标准，是因为社会大环境如此。前些年，我曾经接触过一个实习生，高考成绩拔尖，名校毕业，但开口就是演讲腔，一股过度抒情的酸味，各种名词挂在嘴边，乃至过来实习几天都要“期待合作双赢的新局面”。如此面目可憎，显然是中了假大空教育的毒。
在这之中，社会和老师的影响当然极大，家长的合谋也是一大因素。且不说作文比赛，即使是平时的作文和周记，也有不少家长恨
不能以身相替，将自己的拙劣文字强加于孩子，就像我在开头提到的那本校园作文选。
其实，写作这事儿，最重要的莫过于以平实语言记录真情实感，跑偏了，对孩子无益。
当然有用，现从以下方面说明原因：
1. 俗语说，“熟能生巧”，任何一个知识，对它越是熟练，出错率越低。
2. 背诵一般建立在大量阅读的基础之上，阅读的过程，既是复习强化读音的过程，也是培养语感的过程。
3.背诵的过程是你征服一篇篇文章的过程，可以增强学习英语的信心！
4. 大声读背，有助于你全身心投入一件事，效率会提高，李阳疯狂英语让多少人，从沉默学英语，变成开口说英语！！这也是学习语言最本质的目的！
