1. My View on Campus Violence

It is shocking to notice that extreme violence has occurred with frequency on campus in recent years. Several months ago，a university student hacked some of his classmates to death with a knife. Recently，a college student from a prestigious university stabbed a professor，who was preparing for his lecture，to death.

These tragedies seem to be unimaginable when college students are regarded as the elite of the society. Some people claim that the higher education has not attached due importance to moral education of the college students. Others believe that college students are fragile in their internal minds. These opinions do make sense when we take the overloaded pressure imposed on college students into consideration.

In my opinion，it is more important to take measures to avoid such occurrences. Psychological aid is a solution. Those criminals on the campus may have the experience of being humiliated or facing a lot of pressure. Only through psychological consultation can they outlet their negative feelings and hence avoid extreme actions.

2. Online Education

Surfing online is no longer something strange in our life. Except for searching information and communicating with friends, another online activity has become popular recently. That is online education.

Why could the public accept online education within such a short period of time? Among other reasons, the quick development of the Internet should be an essential one, which makes all our dreams of attending class in the distance possible. Another underlying reason is the quick development of both society and technology. Today, modern science and technology is developing with lightening speed. To catch up with this development we all feel an urgent and strong desire to study. However, due to the great pace of modern society, many people are too busy to study full time at school. Online education just comes to their aid.

As far as I'm concerned, I appreciate this new form of education. It's indeed a

helpful complement to the traditional educational means. It provides different learners with more flexible and versatile ways of learning. Most of all, with online education, we can seek our jobs and at the same time study and absorb the latest knowledge.

3. Giving Children Cell Phones

More and more children are showing up at school each September with cell phones. Many parents buy their children a cell phone because it is a nice safety measure. It gives those working parents a little sense of control and security to know when their children are off campus and on their way home.

But having a cell phone might be a problem. Parents may find themselves facing a frightening bill at the end of the month. The reason: chatting on the phone and playing cell phone games can soon become the favorite pastime of preteens and teenagers. Worse still, cell phones in schools can lead to classroom distractions, text-message cheating and inappropriate photographs.

Knowing their children can always be reached is reassuring for parents. But before buying their child a cell phone, I think parents should decide if the child is really capable of managing his or her own phone. Besides, parental control must be exercised in the use of the phone. For example, they should set limits on how long the child is allowed to stay on the phone.

4. My View on Two-child Policy

My father used to talk to me about his five siblings. He used to say that I was unfortunate that I had none. And I used to envy him and wonder how nice it would be to have a houseful of brothers and sisters. I also used to wonder what would happen to me if I were to lose my parents. Frankly speaking, I do not have to share anything with anybody. I own all my parents' love. I can ask for anything I want. I always wear new clothes and eat the best food. Since my parents spend all their money on me, I can study at the best university of the country.

Lucky as I am, I now and then feel very lonely and I have nobody to complain about my loneliness. How I long for a quarrel with my brothers and sisters! Of course I have classmates and friends, but they are different. Sometimes I feel so pessimistic that after my parents leave the world, I will have no blood relatives left to share with me the fond memories of my parents. Furthermore, I am likely to become selfish while I realize the world is for sharing.

So, I am happy but lonely; I am fortunate but piteous; I am loved but spoiled; I am well bred but selfish, because I am the only child of the family.

In recent years, mobile live video broadcasting has been very popular among young people. People can broadcast their daily life anytime at any place, as they like as long as they have a smartphone. In my opinion, there are disadvantages as well as advantages of mobile live video broadcasting.

On the one hand, mobile live video broadcasting enables people to show their talent online, which gives them a chance to earn money online. And it is also a good way to share their life experience with their friends and family. On the other hand, if people don’t use their time properly, they may become addicted to it. Particularly, if students spend too much time playing it, they may neglect their studies, which is not good for them.

In conclusion, mobile live video broadcasting is a fashionable way to enrich people ‘s life. However, we should make best use of our time and keep ourselves from being addicted to it.

6. Excess Spending on Campus

A recent survey indicates that the monthly expenditure of a college student has been on the sharp rise. Many college students have no concept of thrift in their mind at all.

The following factors contribute to this excess spending. First of all.as the only child of the families，many students are the apples in their families’eyes and naturally get move care and pocket money. Some are even spoiled and take spending money from their parents for granted. In addition，with the improvement of living standards，parents can also afford higher expenditure of their children. Moreover, some students like to pursue fashion and trends，which can be quite costly. Finally, campus love is another possible factor causing too much spending.

From my point of view，college students should learn to be thrifty. We should limit our expenditure on daily necessities but not buy whatever we want regardless of their prices.

The habit of thrift can help US form fight values and is favorable to our future development.

7. Changing the Major in University

Recently it has become a common phenomenon for college students to apply for changing their majors. In this way, they can learn what they're most interested in if their applications are approved.

Although it may bring unfavorable consequences, we can be sure to conclude that this practice is favorable on the whole. To begin with, some students can't choose their favorite major because their entrance examination scores are not satisfactory enough, but the new system of changing major gives them a second chance. Moreover, once they are learning their favorite major, they will probably be more confident and diligent than before. Finally, students learn largely the same basic courses during the first one or two years, so changing major will not bring learning difficulties.

In a word, we can naturally arrive at the conclusion that it is beneficial and rewarding. This system not only gives students a second chance to choose their major, but also prepares them for the coming competition.

8. Are College Students Diligent?

When we talk about whether college students are diligent or not, we will be most surprised to find that the present situation is so complicated.

On the one hand, many students do not cherish their time on campus: Some indulge themselves in video games or Internet chat, and some go shopping or dancing frequently.

On the other hand, many others seize every minute to turn their dreams into reality: Some study in library every day including weekends, some conduct experiments until midnight, some collect data for research papers and others take part in all kinds of examinations. Two reasons, in my eyes, can account for this phenomenon. In the first place, the general environment in university is a decisive factor—if most students are fighting for their future, the others will be affected. In the second place, the general social atmosphere also plays an important role

—if the reality can always testify to the proverb“Diligence is the mother of success”, students will not hesitate to take action.

9. How to Eliminate Cheating on Campus

Nowadays, instead of listening attentively in class and working hard after class, a number of students adopt all kinds of dishonest methods to get high scores in examinations. It has become such a serious problem that it has aroused the concern from the whole society.

To put an end to such a serious problem, in my mind, it calls for the efforts from all sides. First of all, the university authority should make it clear that any cheating behaviors in the examinations, from whispering, copying and receiving answers via mobile phones to asking ringers for help, will be severely punished with no exception. Moreover, teachers of all subjects should go all the way to restore honesty by setting an example for the youth through speaking sincerely and behaving truthfully. Last but not least, young students, the future of our nation, should view integrity as the prerequisite to an upright and responsible citizen so as to learn to despise and fight dishonest behaviors throughout the life.

Only when all of us join in the efforts of eliminating cheating at all levels can we expect to have a cleaner society and a more beautiful future.

10. Credit

Credit is of great importance to one's development. Without credit, one wouldn't get the trust from others, let alone get help from others or cooperate with others. However, nowadays the whole society is faced with "credit crisis".

To begin with, business is threatened by the lack of credit and trust between enterprises and banks. According to a recent survey conducted by the People's Bank of China, a total amount of 3240 billion Yuan debts were not paid off to banks by the enterprises in the year 2006.
