Abstract
1.Introduction
I will make a survey to research for men and women about estimating size .i will make a table to describe my research,and i will make this survey in Tieyi high school.
I will chose 20 students in my class.In my research results i will describe the result and support them with numbers. You can see it clearly.And in my conclusion i will draw conclusion as to the reason for results. In my research methodology i will describe the how the experiment was conducted.Finally in my reference list i will include my reference.
2. Research methodology
This estimating of the pen is used to explain the different abilities between males and females. 20 students will become my investigation object, I will use two
different length of pen as my experiment equipment, and I won't tell anyone the length of pen until the experiment is finished, I put the pen from students in about two meters place, let they estimate the length of pen, I believe, men will do better than women
Before the investigation, I have prepared a pen for estimating. I should make information on the paper. At the end, I was made the information together. There are many different guesses. The estimating between females are much difference.
3. Research result
After my investigation, I have considered the information and neaten it. The estimate of females is very different. In first investigation, the highest number estimated by females is 19cm. the lowest number estimated by males is 8. The average of the females estimated is 11.9. But males are much different than females. The number estimated by males is between 9.5cm to 16cm. The highest number is 16cm, and lowest one is 9.5cm. The average of males is 12.75cm. The average of males is much close to the really number. In second
investigation, the highest number is 34cm and the lowest number is 24cm average of the males is 28.8cm and the females’ average is 28.5cm.
4. Discussion:
From the chart we can see the females estimate is much different with each other. Because I have a good preparation, the error of the data is very small. In order to get better information, I just and always keep a short distance with 2m. the females estimate is much close to the real size which is 14 cm. the result is the males can estimate more exactly than female when they see the things far away from them. From my research result, we can see that my hypothesis is right.
I asked 20 students who have the similar age. I also keep the number males and females same to keep the data have less error. Of course, there are still have many errors. From my report, we can see when the distance is nearly 2 meters, males can estimate more exactly than female when they see the things far away from them.Also, this experiment of my science report still has some aspects to improve. For example, I didn’t do many investigations in different situations. Like different distance, size and color. There are all can affect the result. In my opinion, my survey is enough to get the right answers. The result tells us, males can estimate better than females. This is call the different abilities between males and females.
In fact, this investigation can’t explain the real things. Maybe the result is same to my work. I think if we want to get the real answer, we need more information, maybe 3 to 4 times. The error will still happen.The reason why it still happened is that in the research if you try much more times the error will still happened.It’s impossible to avoid error. After many times investigation, then, the answer will true. My aim to do this is to show the different abilities between males and females.
The reason why my hypothesis is right is the males can do solid geometry better than females mostly. Males can think many solid figures by their hand and it’s difficult for females. There are many possible interpretations. In general, my investigation can easy show people the reason, process and result.
5. C onclusion and Recommendations
In conclusion, males can do the estimate better than females. This is inherent ability. Females don’t need to worried about too much about this. It’s not a problem. Also, when we working with an investigation. We should do this many times. Or the answer will be wrong sometimes. Practice to do it again and again. At the end, we will get the real right answer.
