PART ONE

建议做题顺序:

1. 阅读 instruction,清楚了解四个段落的共同主题。是advertisement 还是 conference detail 或 job opening,这个信息对于后面的阅读至关重要。

2. 先看七道题干,划出关键词,加强对七个关键词的印象,以便在后文的阅读中随时发现包含关键词的段落。

例如:This job involves working for a well-known company.

其中well-known company就属题干关键信息。

3. 看阅读段落,边看边随时划出和前面七个关键词同意的信息。

4. 不确定的题目留到最后一起解决。

PART TWO

本题型是阅读部分最难的题型,难的原因有两个:1)中国的传统考试(高考、四六级等)从未涉及。2)本题主要考察逻辑,在作文中中国学生的逻辑差是出了名的。

建议:

从前后句中确定核心信息:西方人思维严密,逻辑性很强。一个句子讲明一个主要信息,后句会联系前句的核心信息进行发展。缺失的句子的信息往往应当承上启下,和前句与后句有紧密结合,所以确定前后句核心信息的能力至关重要。

例如:Take Coca-Cola for example. (12) ______.

(12)一定是关于可口可乐的信息。

又比如:(9) ______ Times have changed. The big company of today is not being defeated by another big company but by the small companies.

后句说时代已经变了,那么(9)句中一定包含有过去情况怎样的信息。

本题对于阅读能力、写作能力、逻辑思维能力的提高有着重大的益处,建议考生多做这样的练习。PART FOUR

这类题目是阅读中较简单的一种类型,主要由于这部分和四、六级的完形填空部分形式很类似,但是考察的方向和内容完全不同。

1. 考察篇章专业性强,一般都为商务主题类文章。四、六级文章政治、经济、文化多有涉及。

2. 只考察两类词汇的使用:动词和名词。而四、六级考察范围广,涉及形容词、副词、介词等,多考察语法。而BEC的完型填空主要考察的是:A. 动词、名词搭配 B. 上下文意思 C. 近义词辨析。大多考察的是词汇的用法,注重实用。其中很多句型和搭配都可以在日常商务口语和写作中使用。

PART FIVE

本部分难度一般,主要考察搭配、介词使用等。一般来说,正确的句子在3-4个,其余的句子都多了一个单词。

1. 多余单词中,以介词(of, on, with)最多。

2. 其次是代词(their, this, his, us等)

3. 最后才是各种实词,如:qualified, concerning等,这部分词所占比例很小。

4. 建议考生多学习介词、代词搭配等。

BEC商务英语考试口语备考重点

众所周知,口语是BEC四个单元中挑战性较大的一部分,并且口语考试的难度随着等级的提高而加大。BEC口语考试分为三部分。第一部分是考生与考官的交流,着重于个人情况,学习工作,兴趣爱好。这一部分必须充分准备,但难度不会超过普通的工作面试,且一般不会涉及商务知识。主要的难点在于第二、第三部分。第二部分让考生就某一商务主题发表一分钟的演讲,而第三部分中,两位考生就某个商务主题进行讨论。这两个部分要求较高,而准备时间仅为一分钟。针对这种情况,必须从下列方面准备。

BEC作为商务英语考试,要求具备一定的商务背景知识,不要求很精深,但一定要有个大致的了解。因为广大BEC考生普遍英语基础较好(指语法,语音,基本词汇的运用),但对商务词汇与概念深感隔行如隔山,第一重点就是商务词汇的扩展。当然词汇的问题决不是简单的死背词汇表,这种方法不会导致对词汇的深刻理解,灵活运用必然也大打折扣。比较好的方法是在读解分析范文时,注意商务词汇在文中的运用,把好的词汇结合句子一道背诵,然后在自己练习时有意地使用,才能学以致用。总之,词汇量的多少决定着英语水平高低。这就像一两滴水对环境没有什么影响,但当千千万万滴水形成湖、汇成海后就足以影响气候一样。

第二重点是针对BEC口语出题范围。将其细分为多个出题领域:职业发展,人事,营销,商务交流,信息管理,物流,金融,公司发展,项目管理,质量控制,竞争,健康安全,战略策划,生产管理,国际商务,交通,商业文化与伦理等,各个击破。对于每个领域内的经典题型,必须对大量范文作详细分析,总结最常用的话题与理由,体会不同场合变换说法的重要性,克服考生中普遍的理解考题却无话可说的尴尬。

第三,要注重积累商务案例。对于任一题目,光说一大堆理由,是很难得高分的,即使理由本身非常正确。关键在于必须有活生生的例子说明问题。这一点上,临时抱佛脚是没有用的,务必要*平时注意收集并在会话中运用恰当的例子。

第四点是要透过经典题型例解的现象看本质。学会运用会话模式,如开题—质询—观点—扩展型对话,并掌握有效的相关口语技巧,如Echo, Objection, Proposition, Development, Hypothesis, Definition, Interrogation, Repetition等。这样,对于会话的总体框架与结构在心中有了一个蓝图以后,才能把注意力放在内容上。

第五,对于如何使口语更自然更地道的一些语言点,也必须有所涉及。语言的丰富化与口语化不是一日之功,但也要总结规律。比如,用一些语气词如well,right?等和反义疑问句可以使语言较为自然。一些口语化的词组如icing on the cake ,sell like hotcakes,ballyhoo,shelf sitter等也可以给会话增色。当然粗俗的俚语在商务会话中是不允许的。另外,书面用语如 nevertheless,furthermore, in addition, utmost 等非但不会让考官欣赏,反而显得做作,不自然。正所谓‘过犹不及’。要做到恰到好处,必须对词汇和短语的色彩有精确体会。必须指出的是,口语化不等于散漫化。BEC口语的目的还是为商务主题服务的,所以决不能沦为聊天式的极其随便的对话。关键在于应做到‘casual without losing focus’,即‘外松内紧’。

最后,如果没有大量的练习,以上的要点只会是空谈而已。BEC口语考试决不能临阵磨枪,口语是在平时的反复练习中逐渐提高的,想口语考试取得好成绩的话,考前必须找一个同伴,一同练习口语。这样可以互相指出缺点,共同提高,

事半功倍。在同伴面前试讲,也能克服心理紧张,提高考试时的自信。练习时,必须把流利度放在语法之上,不要因为有语法错误而不敢讲。对于口语来说,流畅地传达想法是第一位的。语法或句型的不足可在实践中逐渐纠正。另外,考试时不能过分依赖同伴,每个考生必须有主动性和独立性。有时,同伴的提示和帮助是有用的,但每个人都应在谈话中力争占主导地位,迅速积极地回答问题。

Bec 中级自学通过经验

写在前面的废话

说起来BEC中级的pass,应该是我的大三计划,但现在大二下刚刚开学,我已经提前获知成功pass的消息,某些激励的因素必不可少的。还是先从四级说起吧。因为我是英语专业的专科生(偏科所致,一直羞于言明的事情,经过一年似乎释然了一点)学校规定大二下才能考四级。我觉得太晚,所以决定报一个证来给自己施压。老师说bec还不错,但太难,有人大三考仍然fail(考过以后,发现这话完全不靠谱)。这话导致我很惶恐,就想找个人问问情况。但我没有从老师那里得到任何有价值的信息,反而被他们的冷漠刺激的一狠心报了名。或许,有时候,他人的否定的轻视与否定,反而是我们成长的养料,多经历点不是坏事。如果硬要给一个我的参考水平,我四六级都还没有考,我只能说,我的高考成绩是120+

单词

其实,我有时候觉得自己这个人有点怪,明知道抱着单词书,我肯定记不住单词,却一定要背一背才安心,还总想着会有什么例外。尤其BEC涉及到商务领域,许多单词的含义会有变化,不理解单词怎么做题呢?正是在这样心态的驱使下,我花了暑假宝贵的两个月k单词,结果也只混了个脸熟,大多时候仍然相看两厌。如果我用的是那种GRE式背单词法,我想我也许能攻克掉BEC单词,只是那个时候我没有那么大决心,这也是BEC 带给我的收获之一,后面细说。如果你和我一样需要背单词才能安心,建议每天规定一个量,早中晚各翻阅一遍足矣。其实bec考的单词专业性,也没有想象的那么强。也是暑假背单词的过程,导致我前两个月的准备基本没有什么效果,算是看似努力,实则效率极低的事吧?因此特别提出来说说。

教材

等我开始教材部分的时候,时间已经临近开学,时间安排也没有那么自由了。就是对着教师用书把所有的课本内容过了一遍。本来想总结下写作的内容,无奈,没有时间了。如果教材和同步辅导有充足的时间,还是细细走一遍好,最好能总

结下写作句式。这样后面比较省力。

阅读

过完教材,时间大概已经是十月中旬。着手真题。阅读的错误率一直在10-15个左右徘徊。随试卷难易程度的变化有略微浮动。第一部分,注意细节的同时,注意宏观的把握。如果两者有矛盾的话,以宏观把握为准。这部分可以按新东方的方式,先看题目给出的句子再返回去看文章,这样比较节约时间。第二部分,这个主要的就是顺着作者的思路来,在我看来,也就是一个很看运气的部分,如果作者的文章很对你的思路,全对的可能性就比较大。否则,全错的可能性也不是没有。建议这部分放在最后做。我考试的时候,这一部分悲催的一个题都没做。提醒大家,练真题的时候一定要提前大约10 分钟做完,考试总归有点紧张,很难正常发挥。第三部分,传统阅读,没什么经验好讲,一直能做个全对或者错一个。第四部分,传统的完型填空,只能说注意积累像driving force take on这种词,一定要弄清楚,其实个人认为整理好真题里面的错题,弄清楚就足够了。第五部分改错,注意冠词the those these,以及一些固定搭配。理解文章逻辑也很关键,有时候,没有因果关系却冒出个so,没有转折关系却冒出however,不是并列关系却冒出and,这就是问题所在。

写作

这部分范文是最好的模板,我因为遇到了人帮我修改每篇文章,所以每篇都认真练过。如果你没时间每篇都写,建议把范文背下来,或者至少熟读。然后一定用纸练,如果你参加的是纸考的话。用电脑练多了,写字会很没有感觉。这就是我的教训,我考试的时候连purchase都拼写错,最后写conclusion还忘记空行。这部分我听了新东方的写作课,网上都有的下,听课下来会让你对一些模式化的东西比较快的有个概念。但我很欣赏我们日语老师说的话,老师的职责,只能是让你懂,不能让你会。所以写作部分动笔才是王道,有人帮忙修改固然好,没人帮忙修改就把band4 5两个部分的好句子记下来对比背熟,应付考试足够了。

听力

BEC考试听力号称是最难的。没考过四六级,无法对比,经验是第一部分注意单复数。比如说答案是documents 你硬要写个document,那你就白写了。其次是注意单词拼写,考试的时候,我把enterprise写成了enterprice。一定不要紧张,否则可能就悲剧了。第二部分搭配题,一定要听完再作答。据我经验,一般一转折的时候,答案就出现了,所以一定要注意连词。第三部分也是,它会把每个选项的内容都提到,比较tricky ,所以要注意,到底是哪个!注意连词。

口语

阅读第二部分没有做完,加上听力也发挥的不好,写作最后一个部分还小偏题。我已经觉得自己过不了了。但做事情一定要做完。所以我非常游离地考了口语,所谓游离就是已经进了考室,我还以为我在候考,直到第一部分结束我才反应过来。因为没有包袱,超常发挥了。

口语我每天是和同学一起练的每周三四次,但partner是考场现抓的,因为和同学不在一个侯考室。口语书练到了第六单元。最后中级考试内容是teamwork 和销售一个产品什么最重要?因为我是考室里第一个考的,所以老师精力比较充沛,还问了我怎么样motivate staff. 其实,我怀疑是因为我的口语,我才最终pass 的。所以,每个部分都要好好准备,因为你不知道考试会有什么突发事件。

关于报名和考试:可以请人代报。准备身份证,一寸照片几张,足额money 即可。

收获

在考bec之前,我一直觉得我只有在高三的时候才认真准备过英语考试,来了这个学校后,我一直很低沉,虽然也许有人认为我比较高调,但是我心里一直是低沉的,也许这是我显得比较aggressive的原因吧?也许很矛盾,但是这实话。某些老师的冷漠也让我一度怀疑自己的人生观。但后来去了yy,遇到了无私帮助我的Bella,我开始相信,也许这个世界上你会遭遇到冷漠,但同样的,你也会遭遇到温暖。也就是这种温暖和信赖,让我的坚持有了意义。对外教Paul,我也有了新的看法和了解。为我曾经幼稚的行为道歉。BEC让我收获的最多的,不是通过考试,而是因为这场考试让我遇到的或者改变看法的你们。这场考试后,我终于养成了精听的习惯,学会了定计划,我终于明白了自己坚持的意义。然而,等待的痛苦和通过的兴奋,都是短暂的。最重要的是,我们一直向前走,朝着梦想的方向。

我参加的是08年11月的BEC中级考试,在北大考的。个人比较推荐北大考场,因为考场是设在北大外语系的语音室里,所以并不像其他考场使用录音机外放,北大都是用耳麦听,这样相比之下更清晰些。并且北大的考场都是30个人一个教室。我听我在人大考的同学说,那边有的是一百多人在一个大教室里考。

准备过程:

1、前期:8月份的时候在北京上了新东方中级培训班。当时觉得学了不少知识。可能有的人会说上培训班就一定能过吗?我当时是这样跟我同学讲的,我说要是不上培训班的话我是绝对过不了的。因为通过阅读听力写作口语老师的详细讲解,你会对考试了解得超级透彻。我记得在考场上碰到过很多考友,她们其中一些连真题都没做过,连题型是什么都不知道,所以很多人没过。不是考试有多难而是自己连一点点的努力都没有付出,那当然咯!

2、中期

九月份:回学校后因为要应付全国计算机等级考试,所以并没有花太大的时间去看书。只是一有空闲的时间就会看看孙超老师准备的中级听力60个高频词汇,以及开始总结Ampere的口语笔记。

十月份:准备全力冲刺BEC中级。可就在这个时候突然接到老师通知代表学校去参加CCTV英语比赛。所以原本计划好花在BEC上的时间又被抽掉了很多。但是这个月,我主要把剑2的每道题一一地过一遍。不过得做完每道题后我都会用各色的荧光笔把自己不认识的词汇重要的词组以及漂亮的句型标出来,以便积累知识。由于我认识的另外一个同学也在备战BEC中级,所以我们平时就在一块练口语,一般一个星期三次。这个时候我们就是按照剑2上的口语题目逐一过,刚开始只是在一起brainstorming,每个人表达对题目的思考与看法,然后再按一分钟的时间分别说一下。不过这段期间我们都说的比较乱,就是经常结结巴巴的。

十一月份:想着这比赛完了,自己终于可以全力以赴BEC-V了,可是天不逢时啊!我们两个回美国的外教又跑回来了,给我们安排了一套为期五周的口译课程,每天晚上都得上口译课,所以每周课是增至了16节(我们一节课是90分钟),所以只有自己挤时间抽时间来进行BEC的复习了。

我是每天在上午第二节课下后也就是10点45以后开始进行BEC听力的练习,主要是听剑2上的题目得反复的听。因为大家知道BEC听力考试的

时间大概是在11点左右,因此平时这个时间段练可以让自己适应疲劳以及饥饿的状况,以及磨练此时段自己的耳朵状态。众所周知,BEC真题珍贵,可怜巴巴的8套是留在考前的四周做,一周一套,并且还是每周六的早上九点开始做,这样也是为了寻找实战状态的感觉。通过上个月的口语练习,这个月你会发现很多题目都是相通,自己甚至可以归纳万能答案,总之很多topic是换汤不换药。

十二月份:距考试只有八天了,这几天就是把以前的整理的资料笔记多翻阅下。临考前一晚是很重要的。这个时候最好把所有大的知识点在脑海里过一遍,然后就是把经常出现自己又易写错的单词在纸上多写几遍。我强烈反对临阵磨枪!由于本人之前的复习不是很踏实,所以自己考试的前一晚那叫一个认真呀!

以下是我对即将参加今年5月份BEC中级考试考友的一点建议:

阅读:重中之重是要平时多积累商务词汇。个人觉得阅读所需的技巧很少。想想看,要是做阅读时你能理解文章每个词每句话的句意,那还怕做不出正确答案吗?其实阅读题真的不难,只是时间很紧而已,平时做题用表掐时间很重要。

写作:按memo,e-mail,letter,report,proposal分类,选一篇你认为最好的范文进行归纳模板。熟记这些开头结尾中间转换时的句型,考试以便运用。

听力:似乎大多数人阅读写作以及口语成绩都相差不大,但最最拉档次的就是听力了。我觉得精听真题上的听力以及熟读甚至加以背诵录音带上的tapescript是王道。为什么要精读tapescript呢?因为这也是积累知识的来源。

另外,也是在提高自己的阅读能力嘛!由于自己的听力词汇量不够,当时需要填的一个答案,我硬是根据发音自己拼出来了一个单词,不过因为这个单词很简单所以做对了。那个单词就是docks。看起来很简单,就是复习时没复习到过。

口语:把讲义上以及老师所讲的笔记加以整理熟记背诵就ok啦!特别是讲义上归纳的考题真的很有用。考官当时问我的题就是那上面的。What's ur major?Do u like it or not&why?我就是凭着自己的印象回答出:I like the way the teachers deliver it.Particularly,teachers always bring real cases into the class。口语上有些遗憾吧。就是自己当初没有踏踏实实的记忆

那些参考答案以至于在口语考试时觉得自己飘飘的。回答时大脑一片空白。可一出考试的那个小屋,成千上万的商务用语在脑海里那叫一个狂涌啊!选自新浪教育

我是一名大三学生,刚通过了2008年11月BV的考试。很荣幸地在Ampere 建议下写一篇总结。于自己是改掉从前懒于记录总结的坏习惯的第一步;于各位BF们(BEC friend)则愿分享复习考试中的心情点滴;于让我由衷喜欢和欣赏的Ampere更是希望随老师步伐共同进步。

我报考的想法很简单,考完四六级后暂无出国打算,权衡之后觉得BEC很合适,借以督促自己不要停止学习英语。我报的是人大考点,这个大家可以根据住所情况就近选择,根据自己的口语习惯选择可自由组partner的北工商或其他,最主要的是听力环境,我所在的人大是大阶梯教室,用多媒体设备公放。

我参加了新东方08年BEC Vantage十一特训班,是根据我比较喜欢集中强度训练而决定的。十一之后我才开始准备,之前对BV复习完全没有理解,我觉得对于一门自己陌生类型的考试参加一个培训班是很必要的,所谓工欲善其事,必先利其器,新东方老师在学习方法、考试技巧,以及他们所总结的知识体系上

都给予了我极大的帮助。

下面结合在新东方所学收获,一些小Tips总结下我复习中的教训和经验:

Reading:

1、阅读第一道match题,我按照东方李珺老师方法练习中形成一种自己的习惯,就是先看段落A再通读7个句子。因为在看过题干中题目提示后对文章有初步认识但很难形成正确把握。先看A段增加了对文章主题的认识,再回头看7个句子,按照老师的方法划出关键词,同是A段的答案也可以选出了,这样无形中也节约了时间,个人认为还是一举两得的。

2、逻辑题是我的弱项。因为本人逻辑能力本身就不强,一边读一遍选更难把握其内在逻辑联系,所以我会看两遍,第一遍按照老师讲解的方法认真做完后,我会像阅读理解一样再读一遍,这一次往往可以发现错误。当然我英语阅读速度一直较快,所以时间还算允许。

3、阅读理解一段对应一题。完形那道也要自信,你想啊西方人出题考介词和小语法点怎么难得倒中国学生呢?:)找错题错误类型也就那么几种,把真题做了总结好足够。这三题高中就已经练烂了,而单词又简单,是应该拿分的。筒子们认真做就好啦!

4、复习时要善于总结,BV不需要背单词并不代表不用总结词汇。阅读中的词汇积累不但有益于做阅读,对听力的帮助也是很大的。

Listening:

1、连接阅读部分,首先就说总结词汇。可爱&敬业的Sam老师在这点上给出了特别详细的方法实例。老师已经帮我们总结了很多核心词汇,按照老师的方法自己总结,需要花时间但绝对事半功倍。至于专业的适合商务语境的解释从哪里找,我买了BV单词书差点荒废了,用来查单词总结也算它尽职啦。当时请教Sam得到的指点是google。

2、Part1考查基本功。如Sam所说如果是单词盲点是怎么都写不出来的。所以对于真题的精听很必要,听懂每一个词。我在复习正好看了一篇帖子,是一个考口译的人写的,说他曾经将VOA放成加2的速度练同传,很是震惊和佩服,就在精听时小小效仿了一下,时间紧迫对自己的要求并不高,只是由此后再听真题,觉得语速很慢,就不会产生刚好要填的词没听着的情况。

3、Part2练习起来很有趣味性,针对一个主题的解释或讨论评价,很能提高英语能力,我当时背过两篇后来就犯懒了,嘻嘻,不过这个题真的很值得学。有一点很关键:尤其是对于做Part2,听力所有题也都适用,想像语境特别重要!

4、Part3难在文章长,题型高中就很熟悉了。提前一定要读过每个题目和选项,不然就一塌糊涂啦!这部分时间一定要挤出来,任何题目放题目要求等废话

的时候等等,根据自己情况不要影响前边的题就行。听的时候因为读题已经了解了每一题的关键点,就可以自然的分出片段来选,一般都有明显的过渡或转折。这样也防止了走神儿。另外,练习时精听最后一遍用复读机放快了速度在这时得益。

Writing:

1、写作对于接受应试教育多年的中国学生来说无非就是总结+背范文+练习了。BV写作的总结按体裁,主要就是格式。个人不背范文,但是会认真的看,着重记忆自己不善运用的句型。适当练习避免眼高手低,有一个思考要点的过程。

Speaking:

1、听Ampere讲课是一种享受,收获颇多。多在于商务英语应用能力上以及备战经验上,这是特别值得筒子们认真听的,老师语速很快,但一定要集中精力喔:),每句话都能受益匪浅。

2、针对口试的准备是要自己花功夫的。按照Ampere精心给出的框架结构进行总结,要有想一遍的过程还要写出来。考试变态就在于虽然不难但是话题多啊,你不知道轮到自己是哪一个。总结的时候要有自己的想法,我的partner 就同样是新东方学员,而考官的好多问题都是what about u?

3、人大是随机分配partner,我的partner是个很有想法的女孩儿,虽然我有自己的设计,但是如果对方很坚持自己,建议及时调整自己,给考官留下好印象。我俩是第二组,但已经很默契了,最后的对话讨论很流畅。感谢我可爱的partner。

4、虽然大多同学口试经验很少,但不需要紧张。认真准备,轻松应战即可。

其实很多感受很难分出具体是听说读写的那一部分要用,语言学习本来就是一个整体,融会贯通方能达到炉火纯青,当然我也没有做到,只是认识到而已:

1、词汇:BV考查的绝不是词汇量,根本不需要背单词。复习之初看到一个朋友背单词快成仙了,也仿效了3天,但仅是3天我就认识到这是收效甚微的。因为翻开BV单词书,发现全都是很基础的词汇,BV考查得是在具体语境中的理解。

2、语境:对我而言,这是BV复习的一个瓶颈。做题时我觉得每一篇每一句话我都看懂了,但是我的理解就是和答案的理解不一样。原因就是作为没有任何商务实践经验的在校生纵使是管理类专业,对于商务人士的说话习惯也是陌生的。方法就是多读多感觉多体会。这点听读通用,就是要把握重点。比如听力题Part2,会觉得每一项都谈到了,但是要在个选项比较中发现差异把握重点才能选对。

3、技巧:时间和能力允许的情况下一定要注重积累,老师们讲了许多答题技巧,但只有在有一定语言水平时方能应用自如,一味盲目使用技巧则时常弄巧成拙。

4、时间:按时间做题时应考场是任何考试通用的了,尤其BV的阅读,时间还是很紧的。但复习时个人认为不用着急,按部就班练,开始做一篇时间都很久,因为要总结体会嘛,掌握方法熟练后再掐时间,稍加训练就可以了。从一开始就严格掐时间会影响复习效果。

5、复习进程:新东方的老师会给出详细的时间安排建议。根据自己的情况把握吧,老师的建议作为自己的比照,不要落后太多就好。

个人拙见,难免肤浅。愿相互交流,各取所需。最后,筒子们一定要保重身体和保持美丽心情,像我一样考试时发烧咳嗽就不太好了,呵呵。祝愿所有朋友考试顺利!
