The town of Tiller, Oregon, is for sale, asking price just $3.5 million. The old school costs an extra $350,000.

Recently, I had lunch with a young Chinese student who studies at a college in New York. He is very bright and ambitious and I enjoyed our convention. Still I felt sorry and useless afterwards because I was not able to provide him with any good news on a question that had been upsetting him lately.Graduating at the end of this year, he asked me how he could find a job in this country and realize his career dreams.

In recent years, international students who found a job here after graduation have had to go through a cruel system to get heir HIB working visa(签证). And the success rates have been reduced year after year because of the ever growing number of applicants Last year, there were 233.000 applicants, and only 30 percent of them were lucky, less than half of the rate in 2018.

Today’s young people no longer consider the US as the only option. Many st art to think China offers better opportunities in the longer term. According to China’s Ministry of Education,

The Hindi language film, cal led “Danga l”, has earned almost $170 million in China since its release (上映) there on May 5. It is the highest grossing non-Hollywood foreign film released in China.

China imports very few foreign films that do not come from U.S. production companies

Much has been written about why “Danga l” has enjoyed such big success in China, Critics say one reason is the film’s star and producer, Aamir Kha n, who is famous in India’s Bollywood film industry. Two of his earlier films were also big hits in China.

Many years ago, my family left Cuba for the United States. After getting settled finally in Brunswick, New Jersey, I enrolled (登记入学) my son in kindergarten. Several weeks later, my son’s teacher asked me to meet him at his office.
