It can provide us with more information, and give us a good understanding of the product. Advertisement have some shortcomings at the same time. Some see advertising both as the mirror and the maker of culture. Even when advertisements contribute new sounds and the symbols that shape feature, its words and images reflect the present and the past. Others say advertising is purely an economic activity with one purpose i.e., to sell. So, we can’t differentiate good and bad. Only the one who spend more on advertisement win. Then, we buy the not so good things. In my opinion, we should pay attention to the strong point of advertisement. We don’t always trust them, but sometimes we think about the information of them. For instance, some food may be really delicious. We try it by ourselves according to the advertisement. It depends on your own at long last.

UNIT 13 A Simple Truth About Happiness Happiness

What is happiness? Different people have different ideas. Some people are rich; they think they are happy. Other people have many friends, so they feel happy. Still others are happy because their lives are meaningful. O ne’s happiness doesn’t depend on whether he is rich or poor. Happiness is a state of mind. As long as one thinks he’s content and satisfied, he is happiness.

In order to obtain happiness, we should do the following. First, do things in accordance with your conscience. That is, do to others, as you would have other do to you. Secondly, pay more attention to your health, which is the root of success, for a sound constitution enables you to succeed. Thirdly, worry and sorrow are of no use at all! In case you meet with some hard situation, you must try to overcome it without any hesitation. Willpower is essential to happiness.

To be happy, we should avoid speaking loudly in cinemas and meeting rooms, and laughing at others' shortcomings. Perhaps they feel happy at that time, but they will never get true happiness because they have lost their personality. Happiness means different things to different people. For example, some students believe that if they have much money or a large number of possessions, they will be happy. They believe that they will be able to do anything they want to if they have money. Some students think that they should be in good health, and enjoy whatever they like. Many students wish to have much wealth from their parents. In this way they don’t have to work hard, and they can have everything. I don’t agree with the above points. We can’t buy many important things with money, such as health, happiness and knowledge. I value knowledge, which makes me happy, for I can do much for mankind with knowledge. Although different people value happiness differently, my “wealth” of happiness is in my study.
