Last week, I participated in an activity organized by our school with the theme of “Glory of labor”, which turned out to be meaningful and unforgettable.

On Friday afternoon, our teacher informed us of the activity about “Glory of Labor”at the class meeting. As soon as we heard the news, we were very excited, considering it as a wonderful opportunity to experience the real life. After the heated discussion, all of us couldn’t wait to s ign up the activity.

After school, I hurried home to prepare the luggage used in the activity. Hardly had I entered my bedroom when I took out my suitcase into which I packed my necessities, including some clothes, towels, gloves and water bottle.It wasn’t long before I got everything ready.

T hen came the big moment when we went to a farm in the suburbs to pick watermelons in the morning . Upon arrival, we were divided into several groups and got down to work immediately.

Some of classmates were responsible for picking the watermelons, some put them into baskets while others carried the baskets to a special place. Exhausted as we were, we felt our work worthwhile, because we were exposed to the real life different from learning .

Having finished the work, we went back home directly, feeling a sense of achievement. I shared my experience on the farm with my parents during the dinner. What made me delighted was that they spoke highly of our work on the day and felt proud of me.

It was through this experience that I realized that labor is glorious. Never could it fade from my memory and I made up my mind to be involved in more after-class activities like this.
