Ways to learn English

I think taking English grammar notes is the best way to improve English. It can help you remember grammar. Besides, the more you read, the better your English will be. You should listen to tapes to improve your listening skills. It is useful to make sentences with new English words. Watching English-language TV is also a good way to learn English. It can not only help you learn English but also relax yourself.

Of course, different people have different ways of learning English. Study hard, and you will find your best way to learn English.

I have changed a lot

How time flies! I have changed a lot in many ways. I used to have short hair, but now I have long hair. In the past I was quiet and shy, however, I am outgoing now and I like talking with others. I used to be terrified of insects, but now I can catch them. I used to spend much time playing games and did badly in all my subjects. This term, I made a decision to study hard. With the help of my teachers, I have made great progress. This makes my teachers and parents take pride in me.

The rules in my school

There are lots of rules in my school. For example, we are not allowed to have long hair, and we mustn’t get the ears pierced, I like these rules because teenagers should have good behavior. Besides, we must wear school uniforms on school days. It’s good for our study. We teenagers should concentrate more on our study than our clothes. One thing that I don’t like is that our vacations are too short. If they are longer, we can learn more out of our books.

If I had a million dollars, I would …

If I had a million dollars, I would travel all over the world to enjoy the world’s beauty. If I had a million dollars, I would buy a big house with a beautiful garden for my parents because they’ve done so much for me. If I had a million dollars, I would give some to charity to help the people who are in trouble. I world be happy by helping others. If I had a million dollars, I would rent a spaceship to fly to the Mars. It would be wonderful.

Whose jacket is this?

There is a blue jacket on the playground. We don’t know whom it belongs to. Lucy says it can’t be Mike’s, because it’s much too small for him. Alice says it might belong to Tom, because he likes blue. Jin thinks it must be Dave’s because he is playing basketball now with his friends on the playground. But I think it belongs to John. He might have taken it off and left it on the playground.

The friends that I like

Do you have good friends? I like making friends. I think friendship is good for our development. But I don’t think everyone can become my friend. I like the people who can help me when I am in trouble, because they are kind enough to help me out. I prefer the people that are friendly and outgoing. But I don’t like the people who are dishonest, because they always make me feel unsafe.

I hope all of us can make more friends in the future.

I want to take a trip

Dear Ace Travel,

I’d like to take a trip with my family this summer in Qingdao. Can you provide me with some information? We’d like to go somewhere cool. It must be a place where we can do lots of outdoor activities, like swimming, hiking and climbing the mountains. We need an inexpensive but clean and large room with a kitchen and a big swimming pool near the sea. Please tell me how we can get there, by train, by plane or by bus? We’re staying about four weeks. And please let me know if we can take our pet dog with us.

Being a volunteer is great

Last month, I volunteered in a local hospital. I had an unforgettable experience there. I helped cheer up the sick people. As a volunteer, I felt good about helping others. Not only could it increase my social experience, but also it could enrich my knowledge. I was happy I could make a contribution to the society by doing what I could do. I think through more and more volunteers’hard word, the world will become better.

My favorite invention

The laptop computer is my favorite invention. I think it is the most amazing one among all the modern inventions. First, it is much lighter than desktop computers. I can carry it to the places wherever I go. Also, it’s very convenient. With a laptop, I can find lots of information I need and I can surf the Internet to relax in my free time. I often chat with my good friends through e-mails and QQ. I think in the future, everybody will have his or her own laptop.

When Mei Mei woke up in the morning, it was nine o’clock. .She got up quickly and rushed to the bus stop without breakfast. When Mei Mei got outside, the bus had already left. Luckily, Mr Green came by on his way to work and he gave Mei Mei a ride. When Mei Mei got to school, she found the school gate was closed and there was nobody around. She realized it was Sunday. What bad luck! Then she went back home. In the afternoon, she watched TV and did her homework. At about nine o’clock, she went to bed. Mei Mei spent a tired but happy day.

Why should we keep away from smoking?

There are many people smoking around us. But smoking is really bad for us. It can cause many kinds of diseases and it will increase the risk of cancer. Over the years, the number of young smokers is growing all the time. They think smoking makes them look cool. I don’t think we teenagers should be allowed to smoke. We should be strict with ourselves and obey the rules. And we can concentrate more on our studies and work if we don’t smoke. Don’t smoke and we will enjoy a healthier and happier life!
