And Hong Kong are referred to as the shopping paradise, the stuff is superior in quality and the price is relatively cheap. But in Hong Kong, people have a rapid pace of life, I think I can’t adapt to the fast pace of life. So living in the mountain far away from the downtown is a good choice for me because I can go to work in downtown during the day, and go back to the mountain to release the pressure of a day at night. In addition,the traffic is very developed in Hong Kong, so there is no need to worry about the traffic, I can arrive quickly at the downtown if i want.

country

Speaking of the interesting country, Vietnam is the one popping into my mind. I mean it’s the dream place for traveling. Obviously, it’s appealing to me.

Actually, I knew this country from TV news when I was a kid. And I knew more about this country from a radio program last year. It introduced the history and tourism in Vietnam, in which it said that as the former colony of France, Vietnam is famous for authentic perfume of reasonable price. Let me explain further, nowadays the perfume factories in Vietnam still keep the formula of perfume of French time, because of which the smell is just awesome. The most unbelievable thing was that according to the radio program, the perfume was kept in tanks in Vietnam. It’s no wonder that many tourists bring bottles to this country for perfume. Now you can see this is the most interesting point for me.

Well, in addition to that, there are countless things in Vietnam which interest me, like tropical fruits, local snacks and jade. Maybe I will plan a trip there someday.

I guess all people, regardless of their background, have heard something about Qufu, not only because it’s the birthplace of Confucius, the greatest educator of China, but also because of the long history it has.

Apparently, Qufu is best known for it’s the symbol of Chinese history. It's the capital city of Lu, a kingdom of Zhou dynasty. As the birthplace of Confucius, Qufu is renowned for time-honored culture. In fact, Qufu is the headstream of Confucianism culture, namely, Chinese traditional culture. Actually, Qufu is a world-famous tourist attraction now. Numerous tourists from home and abroad flock to Qufu each year to visit the ancient city. The Mansion, Temple and Cemetery of Confucius enjoy a worldwide fame as a traditional Chinese cultural site. Qufu is culturally important to China because paying a visit to Qufu, you will get to know Chinese culture well.

What fascinates me the most is the traditional architecture here. Walking on the street of Qufu, you will feel like walking through a bustling fair two thousand years ago, which is like a time travel.

A place to travel/traveled to

Tibet is a dream place for many people like me. I went there with my sister Linda last year. The local people were pretty hospitable. They treated us with authentic yogurt

and dried meat. Besides tasty food, the scenery there was incredibly breathtaking. Firstly, we went to the Potala Palace. It was a splendid Buddhist building. We saw some exquisite josses there, as well as some fascinating frescos in the holy palace. After that we headed for a mysterious lake, the Namtso. Since the lake is as blue as the sky, it is also called sky lake. It was definitely a picturesque place with tranquil water, flourishing grass and the strong yaks. What impressed me the most was that the water melted into the sky at the horizon. Linda and I were reluctant to leave until it got dark.

This was the most unforgettable trip for me, but it’s a pity that we had so little time that we couldn’t stay long to know more about the shrine in snow land. I’m looking forward to the next trip there.

Garden

Well, I have been to a great deal of gardens, including big royal ones and exotic ones, but the most impressive one for me is a tiny garden in U ncle Jerry’s backyard.

It is indeed a tiny one which covers an area of about 15 square meters. Despite of the size, it’s rea lly neat and tidy. There are two yellow pergolas in it, on which there are some potted landscapes. Because uncle jerry is fond of making this kind of stuff. And also, Aunt Lily plants various flowers in the garden, such as peony, China rose, orchid and so on. What surprises me the most is that there is even a water vat at the corner of the yard, from which a lotus springs out. I would say that they make perfect use of the yard. I often go to Uncle J erry’s garden for fun. I find it’s really enjoyable to see the flowers. Sometimes I could an assistant for help when jerry is making a pot pergola.. The garden is a peaceful place for me. Not only because the amazing flowers, but also that jerry and lily are a nice couple. They are gentle, kind and always support each other. Every time when I see them working in the garden, I can feel the peace of life and the love between them.

TV program

I’m a big fan of a TV program which is named the Voice of China. It is a talent show presented on Zhejiang TV. I would say the Voice of China is the most popular TV program of China at present.

As long as I am concerned, the Voice is a worldwide talent show, which is called the voice in America and Voice of Holland in its birthplace Holland. Apparently, the Voice of China is the Chinese version.It starts at 9:10 every Friday evening. I haven’t missed a single show ever since it was on. As a stage for people who are crazy about and good at singing, the Voice of China is really different from other talent shows in that it’s tota lly fair. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous rice(糯米)wrapped to form a pyramid using bamboo or reed leaves) and racing dragon boats. The festival is best known for its dragon-boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes. This regatta(赛舟会)commemorates the death of Qu Yuan , an honest minister who is said to have committed suicide by drowning himself in a river. Qu was a minister of the State of Chu situated in present-day Hunan and Hubei provinces, during the Warring States Period (475-221BC)(战国时期). He was upright, loyal and highly esteemed for his wise counsel that brought peace and prosperity to the state. However, when a dishonest and corrupt prince vilified Qu, he was disgraced and dismissed from office. Realizing that the country was now in the hands of evil and corrupt officials, Qu grabbed a large stone and leapt into the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth month. Nearby fishermen rushed over to try and save him but were unable to even recover his body. Thereafter, the state declined and was eventually conquered by the State of Qin. The people of Chu who mourned the death of Qu threw rice into the river to feed his ghost every year on the fifth day of the fifth month. But one year, the spirit of Qu appeared and told the mourners that a huge reptile(爬行动物)in the river had stolen the rice. The spirit then advised them to wrap the rice in silk and bind it with five different-colored threads before tossing it into the river.
