According to one story the idea for making the first teddy bear came from a newspaper cartoon drawn in 1904. This cartoon showed President Teddy Roosevelt on a hunting trip refusing to shoot (射杀）a young bear. The young bear became a symbol for Teddy Roosevelt.

Morris Michtom owned a small candy and toy store in New York City. He and his wife

Tony Wheeler was born to travel. His father worked for an airline. For the first 16 years of his life，Wheeler and his family lived in many different countries.

In the early 1970s，Wheeler met a young woman named Maureen. They soon married. Before getting jobs，Tony and Maureen wanted to travel. They took a year-long trip from London，through Asia，to Australia. On the trip，they visited places like India，Iran，and Afghanistan.

2013年苏州中考也结束了，本次苏州英语试题难度较往年低了一些，整个试卷没有出现任何的难题与怪题，考查的都是考生们的基础知识，相对比模拟考来说，难度要降低不少整体难度依然与前几年保持相同的水平，下面着重来分析下整张试卷的详细情况。

首先是单项选择题，共15题，每题一分。

第一题依然是大家熟悉的冠词题，考生无难度

第二题介词考查题，每年都是一分，这次也不例外，考生主要看清题目不会出错

第三题：hurt的用法，被动语态，以及nobody的主谓一致

第四题和第六题都是时态考查题，其实苏州中考每年都是两道时态题

第五题：考查的是比较级的用法，只要初二上学期学的较好这道题就没有任何问题

第七题：动词不定式做目的状语

第八题：连词考查，主要考生熟悉意思没有问题

第九题：名词意思的考查，大家只要知道方向感就没有问题了

第十题：情态动词考查：每年都是一分，考生只要熟悉这些情态动词的用法后没有问题第十一题：感叹句，考生只要熟悉感叹句的公式，2009年苏州也考过感叹句，只是那个感叹句以宾语从句的形式出现，没有感叹号而已

第十二题：年年必考题，宾语从句，连词加上陈述句，这次要注意下时态

第十三题：代词，每年依然一题，很容易的，注意下A选项很容易误导

第十四题：情景对话考查

第十五题：动词词组，考生需要掌握以get为基准的相关词组

以上15道均没有任何难度，考得是考生最基本的知识和做题的细心能力

本次完形填空非常简单，从一个习语开始，来说明下雨的道理，考生在完形填空的时候至少带着趣味去完成的，当然考生前提是一定对习语有所了解，不然看到这样的习语，难免会产生无法理解，造成完成损失过大

阅读理解很亲民：A篇：泰迪熊的起源B篇：旅游相关的文章C篇：互联网成瘾：很多考生都是网络方面的沉迷者，这方面更可以感同身受。D篇：关于宠物出行方面的

以上四篇阅读理解，没有针对考生故意设卡，都是大家平时感兴趣的内容，也不需要专业的背景知识，这让我想到了09年中考星巴克，很多考生不知道这个什么意思，对于做题有很大的障碍。

单词运用题：本次单词运用依然非常简单。都是平时出现频率很高的单词

第一题：努力effort

第二题：锁住locked,请注意时态一致

第三题：浪费waste

第四题：慈善机构，注意下复数

第五题：睡着的awake

第六题：兴奋地，注意副词

第七题：讨论，注意下现在完成时态

第八题：between的考查

第九题：名词性物主代词的考查

第十题：花费take的考查

翻译的考查

每个翻译都是一个句型的运用，今年的翻译很多汉语过于口语化，考生需要把这些口语转化为英语的词组或者句型

第一题：盼着就是期待，期待是初一上册的句型

第二题：一连说了，就是连续说了想到keep doing sth

第三题：你要是见到他，要是就是如果的意思，初二上学期的条件状语从句考查

第四题：安然无恙，就是安全和健康的意思

第五题：经典说烂的句型：It is adj for sb to do sth

本次的作文非常有条理，按照乐观者，悲观者的观点，最后陈述自己的观点就没有问题了

总结：2013年中考已经结束，中考试题总计基本，简单，只要考生平时有一个较好的学习态度和不错的学习能力，最后的得分都是十分理想的
