Everything has two side and university ranking is not an exception,it has both advantages and disadvantages.

All kinds of ranking has been playing an increasingly important role in our day-to-day life. It has brought us a lot of

benefits but has created some serious problems as well.

On the one hand, we can know some universities easily from the university ranking. At the same time , it helps

universities to develop in related fields.

On the other hand, some university rankings are one-sided .Therefore, it may misguide students and parents when

they are making a decision on which university to go. Moreover

,some tines it could has bad effect on universities as every

university has its better specialty .

In conclusion,we can’t say whether university ranking is right or not.It is reasonable as it has been existing.

班级 __通信1091 学号1091302110__ 姓名娄阳成绩_______________ Chongqing Satellite TV, dubbed “China’s No 1 ‘Red’ TV Station”, is in the national spotlight. The reason is because local government has revolutionized the State-owned station’s programming. Chongqing government turned the station into a non-profit, public-good broadcaster earlier this year.

You are required to write an essay more than 250 words on the following topic.

Will ‘red’ TV station succeed?

Chongqing Satellite TV’s transform into a “red channel” began from 2008 year.

That year, Chongqing Satellite TV introduced a new channel branding under the slogan “China stories, world humanity”. They clearly defined a kind of “heroic character” as the external face of the station to be promoted — “The biggest characteristic was to broadcast all sorts of television dramas that could draw larger audiences, and to broadcast these over and over. For example, “Drawing Sword” , which was aired scores of times.

In further programming changes in May 2009, Chongqing Satellite TV moved from a focus on ratings to break loose from the ugly competitive environment nationally, and seek a sustainable development path promoting advanced mainstream culture.”

The focus of these changes was on establishing a movement with Chongqing characteristics of “singing red, reading the classics, telling stories and passing along maxims.

It carries no commercials and is dedicated to “revolutionary”songs and other upbeat programs celebrating the history of the People’s Republic of China, and the country’s achievements.

In a publicity document, Chongqing Satellite TV said, “Chongqing will become a cultural high plain, and Chongqing Satellite TV is a critical resource [toward this end]. Chongqing Satellite TV must stand out and stand up.” This speaks the hopes for Chongqing Satellite TV held by principal leaders in the municipal Party committee, and is the goal toward which Chongqing’s broadcast industry is struggling generally.

At the annual China Media Congress in 2009, Chongqing Satellite TV was designated as one of China’s top ten satellite television stations. But by this time, audience ratings were seldom raised at all.

From my part, there is no reason that Chongqing Satellite TV will be succeed. We have already lived in a life fullwith commerce advertisements,so TV station as a media can’t be separated form

commerce.

"Sounds good my man, see ya soon, I'll tw" We don't know the rest. The message was interrupted by a crash. Heit died. While the young man was distracted, he drifted into oncoming traffic, according to the International Business Times. On my cycling trips around Beijing, I often think about the many tragic cases like Heit’s that I’ve read about in my home country over the years. I am astounded by the number of my fellow cyclists and also scooter riders who I see not only carrying on phone conversations but also only reading text on their phones. Their heads are down, eyes transfixed by a small luminous screen, oblivious to the world they’re rushing toward.Of course, the faster you’re going, the quicker a distraction can become a tragedy.。 Studies show that staring at a cellphone for 3 seconds while driving at 60 kilometers an hour is as dangerous as driving blind for 50 meters, according to Xie Caifeng, a fellow at the research office of Shunyi Court in Beijing, writing in a column published by China Daily last year.Xie wrote that official statistics showed that “the use of cellphones while driving was the top reason for traffic accidents leading to death in Zhengzhou, Henan province”. It is also illegal. According to the national traffic code, it is illegal to use hand-held phones while driving, and an offender can lose points on their license and receive a fine of up to 200 yuan ($29.75), Xie wrote.Penalties are one deterrent, but education and social pressure also are important. Two years ago, the Shanghai office of the media company Havas designed a campaign for the Global Road Safety Partnership using 350 smashed cell phones that had been in the hands of people who had died while texting in China, showing their last words. They were mounted on black slabs(板子)like gravestones(墓碑) as part of an installation for Road Safety Day in 2015, which was made into a film,?SMS Last Words. (1) Question : What is more astonishing than a 6000 ton whale on a flatbed truck being driven down the street ? Answer : A 6000 ton whale on a flatbed truck exploding and raining blubber (fat of whales ) all over the sidewalk . That’s what happened in Taiwan recently, when a dead sperm whale being shipped to the Halobios Research Centre for an autopsy (尸体解剖) developed an extremely bad case of gas and blew up before it reached its destination . The whale was found alive on a Taiwan beach last weekend, and died shortly after it was discovered. Since the 56-foot whale was the largest whale ever beached on Taiwan’s shores , scientists wanted to study it and perform an autopsy for educational purpose . Obviously, too much time passed between when the animal died and the time it was set to be moved to the autopsy location, because it had already started to go bad .When things rot , they give off gases as a by-product . In the whale’s case , the gases were trapped in its belly . The pressure inside the rotting creature grew so much that it popped like an over-filled balloon . Unfortunately , it was on a truck in the middle of the city of Taiwan at the time; cars and shops lining the street were covered with whale bits an d juices , much to their owners’ discouragement . According to news reports , traffic was tied up for hours while officials tried to clean up the streets . Newspaper editors worldwide were probably smiling to themselves , since they had a ready-made headline; several reports about the inciden t were titled “There She Blows!” after the famous line from the book Moby Dick . 1.The purpose of the question at the beginning of this news report is to ______. A.explain the reason B.sell newspapers C.attract readers D.give an immediate answer 2.The whal e’s explosion is the result of _________.

In other words, some standards of etiquette vary significantly while other standards apply almost anywhere. Learning the proper etiquette in a particular type of restaurant in a particular area may sometimes require instruction, but more commonly it simply requires sensitivity and experience. For example, while it is acceptable to read a magazine in a coffee shop, it is inappropriate to do the same in a more luxurious setting. And if you are eating in a very rustic setting it may be fine to tuck your napkin into your shirt, but if you are in a sophisticated urban restaurant this behavior would demonstrate-alack of sophistication. It is safe to say, however, that in virtually every restaurant it is unacceptable to indiscriminately throw your food on the floor. The conclusion we can most likely draw from the above is that while the types and locations of restaurants determine etiquette appropriate to them, some rules apply to all restaurants. 1. What Is the main purpose of the passage? a. To point out the differences between rules of etiquette in different countries. b. To teach the reader how to tuck a napkin in his/her shirt. c. To help people from rustic areas learn. d. To explain that standards of etiquette are both variable and universal. 2. According to the passage, which of the following is a universal rule of etiquette? . a. Tucking a napkin in your shirt. b. Not throwing food on the floor. c. Reading a magazine at a coffee shop. d. Eating in rustic settings. 3. What does the word “it” in line 8 refer to? a. Proper etiquette.

Changing enrollment practices and higher tuition fees constitute and important part of the reform. Schools which once admitted students almost exclusively according to state plans are becoming more accepting of students sent by work groups for further training and those who pay their own fees. Regular universities and colleges plan to enroll about 786 200 students this year, up 158 200 or 25 percent over last year's figure. Of these, 216 000, or 27.4 percent, will be sent by their work groups or will pay their own way. In the past, the state paid all tuition and school fees for university students, a matter of policy since New China was established in 1949. Although this practice guaranteed the supply of qualified personnel, it brought a heavy burden to the sate, hindering further development of higher education. Since higher education is non—compulsory education in China, to charge appropriate fees will help improve school facilities and expedite the development of education in this stage. As an added benefit, paying their own way will encourage students to study harder.
