One evening, an old lady went shopping in the supermarket. She bought lots of toys for her grandson, including a knife. When she came back to her car, she found a man with red hair starting the car and another two sitting at the back. She was surprised. She realized that they would drive her car away. Then she took out the toy knife without thinking and pointed at the men in the car, “Get out of the car!” She shouted loudly. The men in the car got so terrified that they ran away quickly. The lady made sure that all the men had gone. Then she took out the key to start the car. To her surprise, she couldn't. She tried again and again and finally she knew why. —It wasn’t her car! She looked around and saw her own car not far away. When she came back to her car, she saw the men coming up to her with a policeman. In our daily life, we have to face something unpleasant. When I get into trouble, I never give up, but keep a positive attitude.

As we all know, the students of Grade Nine have to take part in the sports exam. But two months ago, I was still poor at long jump. I kept practicing it every day, but to my disappointment, I didn’t make any progress. I nearly gave up before I was encouraged by my close friend. "Nothing is impossible." She said, "You’d better improve your jumping skills." Following her suggestion, I began to practise jumping up the stairs. Only in this way could I jump farther than before. When I got a much better grade in the sports exam, I felt proud of myself because I made it by changing the way but not choosing to give up.

From this experience, I became more confident. Whatever we meet, we should be brave to face them. Besides, we can ask our parents or friends for help if we can’t solve the problems by ourselves. And most importantly, we should find suitable ways to achieve our goals.
